StreetView technology is one of the great innovations that Google has incorporated Google Maps. So a while ago Microsoft Bing added a similar function, called StreedSide, offering basically the same as its pair of Google. Redmond now want to give another turn to this in order to differentiate itself by offering an innovative technology called StreetSlide .

Your advantage over Google StreetView is that instead of showing the street as if we were walking through it, shows it in a panoramic view where you see all the buildings in front. There are also controls to "pass on the sidewalk in front" or change from street to an intersection, all with animations and transitions that give the illusion of being really there. In addition, it opens the door to other improvements, like adding information on the name of the street, or commercial logos in a more visual and clear to the user . They can take a look at all these functions in the video above.

The Redmond say they are working to incorporate in Bing.com StreetSlide and in its version for iPhone (it's strange, but say nothing about Windows Phone 7 .) There will have to see whether users prefer this technology, or if they become familiar with Google's StreetView.

Multifox: entering a website with several different accounts at the same time

In these times as "social", many have multiple accounts within the same service and, sometimes, there is a need to to have these accounts open at once . Although there are many different solutions for each service, we will see a hand coming from a Firefox Extension: Multifox .

Multifox allows open different accounts of the same service while opening a new browser window number in which you appear logged out of any service in that you had an open session. The extension refers to these windows open as identity profiles .

Here is an example: say we have credited to our account from Google, Twitter and Tumblr, but we need have also opened such services but with different user . Well simple: open a new identity profile, and in that window, entry to the other user services .

Supposedly, we can open as many profiles as you want, although I have not come to test their limits. Something very interesting is that the profiles can keep the sessions we've opened whether we are close and are not configured to close when you close the browser. Since each profile is numbered, each "number" can be enrolled in a mail account, to take another example.

We can access the extension by the contextual menu links and the where we are given the option of opening a new profile, or via the file menu , which gives us the option of "New Profile of identity." We can also switch between profiles by clicking the number in the address bar.

Multifox works in Firefox 3.5 and 3.6 under Windows, Mac and Linux , and I am looking to update for when the final version of Firefox 4 for me has become one of those essential extensions and I recommend it to anyone who wants to hear me.
