We have so many new titles and job descriptions that even the companies or interactive agencies have issues to describe and specify a job. We often see the difficulty in specifying one job and actually limit the tasks with one's title.

There use to be a easy way to define a job description of a web designer about 8 years ago because that was a job for a guy who had the knowledge and experience of making a website and putt it online. A web designer today are separated into several titles in order to bring the expertise of internet marketing, social media, search engine optimisation, interactive design, usability and accessibility, and also web standards development to keep things perfectly together.

Working as a freelancer in the internet business might be easier as one has a wider experience and specific expertise of internet marketing or are specialized i the whole process of making a successful search engine friendly website project.

So... "what is your job title?"

Well here are some of the job descriptions we have seen on the market recently offered by several seo agencies and interactive companies. Web Master, Creative/Art Director, Web Producer, Information Architect, Usability Consultant, Marketer, Educator, and Accessibility Consultant. There are several to go but how can we define each one of them to actually be a specific title for a specific job with specific tasks? Well we can't and it's very individual. Some of the job descriptions can be defined and it might be a good start. Here are some more that came up...

Front-end Developer, Back-end Developer, Interactive Designer, User Interface Designer, SEO consultant, Creative Director, Social Media Developer, Web Strategist, Digital Strategist, Flash Developer, Quality developer, Software Engineer, Database Designer, Interactive Media Strategist

It used to be so much easier: you worked in IT and no one cared much beyond that. It seems that the Web has introduced a plethora of job titles that few people recognise or understand. What is a Webmaster? What does a Web Producer really do? How is it different from an Information Architect?

Many smart companies realised that employees often care more about their job title than their salary. Why give a good pay rise when you can simply make Bob the Vice President of Hypertext Technology Systems? His kids might go hungry, but he’ll be the envy of all his friends.

So do titles matter?

Maybe they did at one time, but it has reached the stage where job titles are utterly meaningless to the majority of clients, potential employers, or even fellow colleagues. Web jobs require a varied assortment of skills, so perhaps we should give up trying to label workers?

Finally... What is your job title? Does it accurately describe your role? Do you need to explain it to clients? Is it really important to you? Don't make yourself a title you need to explain!

SEO & how people use search

Searching your own website and can't find any results? Well there might be a reason for that. Generally every website need to organise its content in order to be optimised for every keyword. It's important that all pages has a unique approach for each ranking possibility.

Bare in mind that your business or market have one idea on how to find you and you might have another focus and strategy. The trick is to find a way to cover your wanted clients and also understand how people are using Internet to actually find your services on-line.

how do people search

Using Internet for more than 15 years and always meeting clients that uses Internet differently is a challenge. Though there is a kind of standard way to use a search engine and it is based on SEO and how a website should be found trough it's keyword.

understanding search

Understanding that option it might be easier to also find what you are looking for and understand how search differ to each one if us.

primary and secondary keywords

Primarily your "services" are the focus in a keyword strategy and secondary is the "location". Of course there are combinations that define your services and location as a good start and after a while you can define separate words for specific keywords if you look for a wider audience and area.

The way we work is to make a iwebsite analysis for the possibility of making an optimisation based on the information architecture. We firstly analyse restructuring options that need to be edited for better understanding by the search engines.

defining your SEO solution

Suggesting our solution can reach from page naming to internal linking and page titles, in combination all of those options need to balance per keyword on each unique web page for best possible optimisation effect

Information architecture updates

Search engine optimisation and information architecture are two of the most important components in a website production. The organisation of the content and navigation have a major role of importance to the SEO and the ease of navigation in a website. Any user visiting your website should have no doubt of where to find what information. Older websites can have a problem to reach the same positions for selected keywords due to lack of a organised information. This new website of ours have got a new style, design and information architecture due to an update recently.

Why do we rebuild our website

Due to google regular updates and search engine optimisation regulations we find it very important to show and clarify the act of rebuilding and optimise our site and it is also an option to share the changes and reasons for our update. Mainly we are optimising for more targetted keywords and are relying on our analysis of the local business.

We have done everything we wouldn't do to any of our clients websites, we have totally rebuilt the information architecture and risk our search engine positioning for keywords selected some years ago. Our focus on SEO will also be proven that we know what we are offering our clients. Focusing on new keywords such as "SEO Greece" and "SEO Agency Greece".

Updating and information structure

Yeah it might be a crazy act to clean our search engine indexation but its worth the work also to have a fresh modern new website design for accessibility, usability and social media integration. We couldn't optimise the old website for the new changes because we are also using HTML5/CSS3 for this new release. We also enjoy to challenge ourselves in order to feel secure of knowing what we offer our clients. new technologies are important to implement and also cross-browser integration for example Internet Explorer is integrated.

How to implement the new website architecture:

Analysis of keywords and market

Information structure integrated with navigation

Internal link building within the pages

Definiing keywords and page titles

Planning page information and keyword density

Information architecture and content optimising

Graphics and design integration for fast loading

Not everything is changed in the internal website, we also use available registration tools for Google, Yahoo and Bing.

These changes will take our website to a higher position within a month but its not all of the secrets, follow us and let us impress you with our search engine optimising abilities...

Xmas gift of the year - a website!!

Christmas gift of the year 2011
Did you know that your xmas gift of the year is a website from Cleverclick! it might be something amazing to have your website or give it to a friend. The client can add both Videos and Photo galleries and also use the Social Media that we integrated for Facebook page and Twitter for start.

Social Media integration

With Social Media its very possible to have a great SEO introduction and make a difference to a static website. The client control his updates by posts and page publishing. The information architecture and menu structure is the main issue here and we are working together with the client demands to meet for best possible result and solution, optimising page naming, titles and information structure also focusing on his wonderful paintings with the correct appearance for the chosen keywords.

Artists & digital profiling

Many artists are today afraid to share their work on-line but its a great move to see them move on to the digital format for visibility. We definitely share the initiative and brave move to publish art on a website and we really want to push the move to digital profiling and branding.

Educating our clients

Producing this kind of tool with Content management gives responsibility and action. We always start with content planning that is widely called Information Architecture. All websites need correct planning with the goal in mind in order to serve it's purpose.

Accessibility and structure

Structuring your website information can have a huge impact on search engines, made correctly. Accessibility and usability are highly important for good search engine indexation. Design is a big part of the usability in order for almost anyone to reach your information, no matter what platform used to have access to your information you are publishing.

Design and attraction

Design for all it matters is just packaging the information but! It's rarely left to luck . Design of a website is important to attract the right visitor and make them come back for more. We are working with designers that have long experience in communicative design and marketing expertise. It is said that a website with interesting information can be more visited than a website with design focus. The combination of both can't fail and that is our goal for each project.

Search Engine Optimisation

Well, we all heard about SEO. The way to do it is to have it integrated within the information architecture and the design as one can easily understand what page is doing what and for who! Meaning that each unique search should index every unique page in your website differently. We have all our secrets but this is the general strategy. Also that is just the beginning of SEO and successful website publishing. You have to prepare your company for us in order for us us so as we can convert it into the technical solution. That also gives you a better idea of your own website and what is the most important of your business on-line.

SEO / Search Engine Optimisation

We have earlier been writing about how a website should be search engine friendly. Well its not that difficult if you know how to do it.

It is also related to making the site search engine optimized in order to attract your customers and define your keywords for your business and services. You don't want irrelevant traffic to your website, just the ones that are looking for you services.

In general it is not only one of the components that is making a website successful. It is the composition of perfectly defined information architecture, top notch web design and development, Internet marketing experience among others.

Understanding that and also the concept of finding Your clients you want to visit your website are some of the most important focus. Meaning that Visitors finding your website are there for a reason, and they have been lead by your SEO and marketing work to have your website optimised the way it needs to be.

Content:

Content is very essential for search engine optimization. This is a very important process for making the webpage visible to the Internet users. Mostly they are well published articles on varied topics which contain key words or key phrases that helps in directing the users to your page. Therefore the better the content is, the more is the chance of gaining better rank.

Meta tags:

Meta tags, key words, description and titles also have a quite important role to play. They are important part of the overall success strategy. They need to be written with compelling and attractive so that they can attract the attention of the users.

Design:

Design of the site is also important: It is not always like that the most gorgeous and heavily decorated sites will gain all the attention. The most important thing is that to make the site presentable. A simple designing with more information can always do the trick.Besides these there are several other things that are done by the SEO companies so that your page can gain better rank on search engine results.

Information architecture:

Information architecture is the basics of reaching to success with your SEO. It's probably the most important to include that experience that makes the difference of success.

Good luck with your SEO and Internet marketing.

Search Engine Friendly websites

Search engines and Google are daily common things in most people daily life. Finding your expected search might not always be successful and it is something that is getting better and better on a daily basis. Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo are working towards delivering best related results to each search and its this goals we are working towards.

Web site owners who offer these things want to be found in the high ranking position for a specific keyword or keyword phrase listed at the first page at least. In order to obtain these prized positions, the engines have to make the decision that your site deserves that prestigious place. As web site owners or those who are responsible for the overall success of a site, how do we help the search engines come to this conclusion? While there may be many pieces of the puzzle to accomplish this, one of the foundational things that can be done is to make sure your site is "search engine friendly".

What does search engine friendly means?

It does not mean having an all text site because search engines love content?

It does not mean sacrificing aesthetics because graphical components get in the way of search engines?

Does it mean stuffing your pages with repetitive keywords or employing sneaky tricks?

Actually all of these things are important ingredients for a search engine friendly site but has to be combined with the structure and planning of the website where Information Architecture is one of the most important ingredients. Additionally many are under the impression that one has to sacrifice the end user if they are to please the search engine. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Let us give you basic ingredients that constitute a search engine friendly site but in doing so, always keep this principle in mind - your web site is for the end user, not the search engines! What do I mean by that? It is quite simple. Search engines are not going to buy your products or hire you to perform a service. In other words, they are not going to pay your bills or allow you to earn an income. The end user will. It is the end user that you want to attract and as a result, covert to a customer. Therefore you should always design and market your site with the end user in mind. This involves the aesthetics of your site, its usability, the way it communicates and ultimately its ability to convert. Something very important to keep in mind, lets look at some key ingredients that make up a search engine friendly site.

Make Sure Search Engines Can Find You In The First Place

Might seem simple but there are a long process before you reach at this step? However, there are still people that launch a brand new site and then go searching for it on Google or Yahoo but are unable to find it. They submitted their site through one of those "add URL" forms or through a submission service but still do not show up in the search engine's index. You will never get your site listed, at least long term, in a search engine by simply submitting it. Rather you need to get a link from a site that is already in the search engines and then the engines will find the link, visit your site and add it to their index.

One could also getting a link on another site? The easiest way is to submit your site to free directories like Dmoz, Yahoo and many other portals, some of them actually feeding the search engines with their directory. Search engines regularly crawl these and other directories and will find your site once it is listed.

Search Engines Crave Accessible Content

It is true that search engines like content or plain text. They do not recognize how aesthetically pleasing your site is but rather will digest the content of your site to understand its subject matter. That is not to say that you should sacrifice design for content. You can actually have the best of both worlds. There is a myth that one has to have all their content appear on the page before graphical components. That is simply not true. As long as there is good content within your pages, it doesn't matter where it is - search engines will find it. So the challenge then is not "where" to place content but simply to have it in the first place. The most important is that your content is common, organised and structured. That's where Information Architecture comes into the picture as one of the most important components.

In having content it is imperative to then have the best content. This is where creativity in presenting information comes into play. If your site offers information on a subject, then make sure you have the best info available on the Internet. If you sell a line of products, make sure you provide content describing the products whether that be in the form of convincing sales verbiage, product reviews, testimonials or all those combined.

Make sure your content is written in a natural language and have a unique touch. In other words, make sure it is written for the end user in mind. Who is your target audience. Men? Women? Teens? Business owners? A geographical region? Whatever it be, write for that target audience. This is where a good copywriter that has some basic understanding of SEO will be worth their weight in gold. "What about keywords?" and density. There is no reason why your site cannot contain well written content designed for your target audience and at the same time represent your most important keywords.

Is Your Site Crawlable?

What we are referring to is simply making sure that a search engine can find other pages within your site beyond your home page. This is simply made by generating site-maps and making the menu accessible. Most websites have a sitemap in order to clarify the structure of the website and make it accessible, as simple as that.

Web standards developed websites made by professionals have normally all of the needed components ready and set-up on your website on delivery day. ready for your to go integrating the site in your marketing process. Most front-end developers have good knowledge about what Search Engines are in need of for the marketing preparation. Generally, make your pages and information structure for your visitors. Not for the search engines. Meaning you should publish only pages with specific information your company provide, the more specific each article or page is, the better for the search results and the user to actually find the information they are searching for.

Title Tags and Meta Description Tags

Every page of your website need unique content as well as title, description and keywords. Google have not taken any notice for Keywords in your page description and still does not but it have some importance to other search engines. Keep it short, relevant and don't SPAM your pages. Your site just look bad and overdone. Whether your site is static or dynamic, it is of the utmost importance to have unique title tags, description and META information for each page. Each page should be different, right? Then why not make sure your title tag coincides with the subject matter of the page?

Make Your Site The Very Best It Can Be

There are no way to cheat either your visitors or search engines. Do it right at once and work on it with research during the first year from publishing day. It can always be a little better and it is up to you and your publoished information to be the best possible. You are the only one that can make it happen!

Information Architecture

We meet leaders and small business owners regularly in need of internet consulting services for their on-line business integration. Many business owners are experts in their field and outsource these services to consulting companies for high costs. Depending on the expertise and profession, Internet marketing and social media management often take much your time to manage and produce. After the strategic plan, IA is the single most important element driving website success. together with other elements such as web standards, code validation, semantic mark-up and marketing management.

many web project teams lack the expertise...

Having observed, many Web teams lack the expertise or time to undertake a full-blown IA development phase and often combine it with navigation and interface design. We are working with this on a daily basis since 1996 and understand this reality and have defined seminar to help teams for whom IA is a small (yet important) part of their Internet responsibilities. These social media tools can have a huge impact on your visitors. We are talking about Twitter and Facebook in general but there are many other options for similar purpose.

The general trick is to automate the flow of news and information and it can be done with some easy tricks and online tools. Every post you are writing can automatically be posted direct to your Twitter or Facebook Page.

For example our Greek travel guide developed in Word Press has a integrated re-post plugin that feed the Facebook page with latest posts in order to keep the followers happy to read the updates and interesting articles on a daily basis or when ever you are ready to serve your clients with news.

There are some issues in order to make this work and in general you need a Facebook Page, Twitter account and registrations in both Bit.Ly and Twitter dev application registration...

If you find this option interesting please contact us for more information.

Staring a website project

Starting a web project is most often starting in the wrong end for succcess of deadline and planning the project. Project owners are mostly thinking “design and impressions” of the site. While technology has to stand waiting in the back until the design and sketches are made!

Big mistake from my experience as a web designer, developer and information architect, SEO consultant.

The way a project should proceed is all about the success of the site and there is nothing more important than the information architecture and structure. Possible technologies to solve the search engine friendliness and logic for SEO.

I would suggest the team to start sketching a website on paper and pen with a designer to see functionality accessibility and usability in order to fins the correct information architecture. It is very important to land on a design that is working and also impress of course but the main issue today is to get a good start for a website that makes it successful, already having it in mind from scratch.

No matter what internet marketing technologies you use from a marketing point, there is always technical issues to be solved before and its actually where we need to start to save development time and marketing budget and time in order to get a faster and correct result.

My solution to a better work flow is as follows:

Material and content request from client

Planning information architecture with existing content

Suggest a usable and accessible navigation technology

Set-up semantic page structures and organising content, titles, links, etc

Participate the designer and front-end development

Develop designed templates for depth navigation and page structure

Testing templates and functionality for usability and accessibility

Organising the SEO and implementation of content logic for each page and level

Google abandon older browsers!

Google is phasing out support for older browsers from 1 August.

Those using IE7, Safari 3, Firefox 3.5 and their predecessors to view Gmail, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites will then lose some functions.

Eventually, it warned, these web services will stop working for those sticking with older browsers.

The move is part of a trend to stop the use of ageing browsers which can be insecure and not sophisticated enough to handle the latest web technologies.

Website owners that have old table-layout based websites would need to change and upgrade to a new web standards website. Apparently there are millions of websites that are in need of a website re-make to modern technology in order to still get a high search engine ranking.

Search engine positioning are based on both functionality, accessibility and usability that are very important to any website owner to a future success.

Read the full article at BBC news

Search Engine Optimisation

Many websites on-line today have been published many years ago and the lack of SEO is something that is giving the owner a badly indexed website that does not fill any purpose or the ROI (Return of Investment).

A descent designed and developed website consist of a correct information structure, web standard development due to W3C and also Search Engine Optimisation with Semantic mark-up structure.

SEO is nothing anyone should pay extra for, not to be confused with SEM (Search Engine Marketing), that are campaigns for marketing and marketing solutions for banner advertising or Facebook solutions. Any proper developed and designed website would normally have a basic SEO included in the information structure, planned by the marketing team in cooperation with a front-end developers that have good SEO experience.

Developing a website for SEO, regarding Google publication guidelines, is the standards of making a website today. Any web agency that develop websites with extra SEO packages should really consider to do a descent job instead of charging their clients with additional costs for no reasons.

Talking about SEM, Search Engine Marketing is another issue because it is generally focusing on external link strategies and link building due to relation with other similar websites. SEM is something extra that a client can be charged for such as Google adwords campagins for faster integration until the maturity of the SEO finally is starting to work...

Location Based Services

Social media is going broader with special offers to your business on-line for local business. New companies are cropping up to expand the utility of the web, creating location-based services and financial payment systems that can be bolted onto existing sites. Often bootstrapped, they are frequently profitable and may get acquired quickly. Even in today's tough environment, these upstarts are the ones raising money and trying to score a life- or business-altering hit.

Web 1.0 - That Geocities & Hotmail era was all about read-only content and static HTML websites. People preferred navigating the web through link directories of Yahoo! and dmoz.

Web 2.0 - This is about user-generated content and the read-write web. People are consuming as well as contributing information through blogs or sites like Flickr, YouTube, Digg, etc. The line dividing a consumer and content publisher is increasingly getting blurred in the Web 2.0 era.

Web 3.0 - This will be about semantic web or meaning of usability and data developed for its purpose, personalization (e.g. iGoogle), intelligent search and behavioral advertising among other things.

If that sounds confusing, check out some of these excellent presentations that help you understand Web 3.0 in simple English. Each takes a different approach to explain Web 3.0 and the last presentation uses an example of a "postage stamp" to explain the "semantic web".

Cleverclick Athens and Stockholm

We are cooperating with our new swedish services and released recently a swedish language website for our successful business in the SEO and Internet Marketing business.

It is a pleasure to release our new website to the swedish market and for future involvement for greater business cooperation.

You can find us at our Swedish wite of seo byrå.

Internet and web standards

Internet marketing, online marketing, SEO, web design, web development, web standards etc. etc. I can go on with more issues but its not neccessary. We are often asked to analyse websites that has no background history, search engine position or even statistics of any visitor at all. So how do we do our job?

SEO expertise and requests...
For years we have had the requests coming and going and we are most often confused of how we are going to prove the difference of our work and the effort we actually offer to any client we undertake. It can seem expensive to invest some thousands of Euros into a website that does not do the job as a business partner and supposely your right hand partner but it can also seem irritating to actually have a channel that is not used the right way to bring business instead of dying because one does not know where to start.

Any website we are undertaking as a new client has been optimized with successful results. Today we can say that this is truth, not a cliche at all because we have the results black on white.

Top positioning of 'SEO Agency Greece'
2009 we decided to focus on a top position of all the biggest search engines no matter how much effort we have to put into our goal. We decided to show off our skills and surprice the market as the little agency we are. We did the best job ever with our own website and we landed on top1 position in 3 of the top search engines in the world. Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Beautiful SEO success and results
Since our top ranking results started to position our website it took some time to understand what effect it would have on our business. It took about one month until we started to have new requests from international marketing and development companies in need of website development and SEO consulting. We are still today surprised how fast it happened but every week we prove that we know what we are doing. We don't prove it to our selves but the new possible clients on-line, trying to find their clients in need of professional expertise.

SEO concept and methodology finally proven
This is exactly what we have been trying to prove to our clients for years. So, Get your website, Optimized with an experienced company so as you can focus on your business and let us improve your internet marketing in other ways based on your knowledge of your company services...

HTML5 and new Web Standards

HTML5 is suppose to be the next web standard web designers and developers are to follow. Remember last time we were suppose to follow web standards it didn't went so well because of web browser companies was more or less chocked and paralysed that their product didn't work. They didn't care for anything like standards or implementing the functionality. The worst web browser came from Microsoft in the end of 1990's and was called Internet Explorer 6.0, a web designers nightmare but its buried and almost forgotten.

The HTML5 code is not at all very different to the previous standards HTML4 but in order to prepare a website for the future HTML5 standard we need to follow specific code standards to make it easy to release the real HTML5 pages when its time for all web browsers to be ready and understand it.

We started to test HTML5 back in 2007 but it was different. Today we at least have a test specification almost ready to be used and implemented and even validated.
