Kids say the darndest things don’t they?

As Obama states, he did get elected President so not “everyone” hates him, however, his approval rating hasn’t been very good lately. It’s still higher than Bush in his last year of Presidency, but he’s gotten a lot of heat recently for things like the Stay-In-School speech to kids and winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

I know he probably addressed the kid just to get some good press, but I’m glad that he took the boy’s question seriously. In America we often like to forget that the President isn’t solely responsible for a bad economy.

“When things are going good you get some credit and when things go bad you get some of the blame- and that’s part of the job.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.

“When we get home I’m going to beat the shit out of you!” Says Chris Brown in the police report.

As it turns out, Chris Brown showed earlier signs of abuse but Rihanna still claims that he never made her bleed. Unlike all the “ignorant” rumors that blamed Rihanna for somehow starting the incident, she dismisses them with the truth; the altercation started because she suspected Chris Brown of cheating on her.

Judging from the account and the police report, I’d have to deem Chris Brown the biggest asshole of the year. Not only did he cheat on his best friend/girlfriend, but he lied about it, beat her, threw away her cell phone, and threatened to kill her.

“I felt like I feel asleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” she says concerning the publicity. Hopefully a domestic abuse incident this publicized will open the eyes of other couples who are in the same predicament.

In 2007, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay launched a video site specifically for comedy skits and sketches called Funny Or Die. Now, Funny Or Die has its own YouTube channel.

This video shows the comedy duo announcing the deal, with McKay stating that Ferrell was always for teaming with YouTube. And now it’s happened.

This clip seems to have been filmed on the set of The Other Guys, because at the end there’s a cameo by Mark Wahlberg. He suggests the pair have made a ton of money out of the deal though they deny it.

Some Funny Or Die videos are hilarious and it should help the site immensely being featured on YouTube. Love it or hate it YouTube is by far the biggest name in online video.

The Fourth Kind is a new movie in theaters now. It is based on true events although a great deal of poetic license has clearly been taken in order to turn what is a strange story about people going missing into a story of multiple alien abductions.

The story of The Fourth Kind is set in Nome, Alaska, a real town which has experienced an extraordinary number of residents going missing since the 1960s.

However, whether these are as a result of alien abductions or not is a matter of opinion. The official line is that most can be explained away by the combination of freezing temperatures and the consumption of alcohol.

Milla Jovavich plays the (supposed) real life character of Dr. Abigail Tyler, who appears in what is touted as documentary footage interspersed into the film.

I am at least intrigued enough to go and see The Fourth Kind. Which is, I guess, the whole point of the viral marketing campaign.

Not a fan of Tyler Perry or of Mariah Carey’s acting, however, movies don’t win Sundance awards for nothing. Either this is going to be really good or really cheesy.

Either way, Oprah has been plugging this movie like crazy on her show, so expect this to be a strong opener this weekend.

Don’t get me wrong, I like a good drama movie as much as anyone. And the novel “Push” by Saphire was a story that needed to be told for sure. There are just too many teen girls that are getting pregnant a dropping out of school these days.

Due to the many star-studded appearances (Lenny Kravitz, Mo’Nique, etc), I’m still a bit weary of watching this because of Mariah Carey. We all know how horrible Glitter was.

There’s a certain point when you’re on a night out of heavy drinking which is crucial to how the session turns out. It’s that moment when you’re too drunk to actually drink anymore.

If you’re drinking beer or cider your hand won’t lift to your mouth. If you’re drinking spirits then you can’t see straight enough to find the next drink. And if you’re drinking wine then getting the cork out of the bottle becomes as impossibility. Or does it?

This guy ingeniously keeps the drinking going by opening another bottle of wine (he’s clearly already consumed quite a few) using a combination of his teeth, one of his shoes, and the nearest wall.

The good thing is that the alcohol will obliterate any of the pain caused by a chipped tooth or caused when trying to walk off with either no shoe on or a shoe on which isn’t fit for the job anymore thanks to being bashed against a wall.

Although I’m not American I’ve been well aware of the New York Yankees winning the World Series thanks to the multitude of updates on facebook from American friends. It is, apparently, a reason to celebrate.

The core players of the World Series winning New York Yankees team, Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Jorge Posada, appeared on The Late Show With Dave Letterman last night. They were later joined on stage by MVP Hideki Matsui.

This isn’t the full video because that would undoubtedly be taken down off YouTube for copyright reasons. So this is the CBS-ratified highlights clip showing some of the best bits of the interview.

The full interview is a mix of serious chat and jokey banter. What’s good to see is the Yankees giving as good as they get, turning many of Letterman’s quips back on to the chat show host.

With the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street just passing us by, it seems appropriate to reinterpret the classic children’s TV show theme.

Greg Pattillo is the man behind this very modern take on the iconic tune. The flute may be an age-old instrument, but you’ve never heard it played quite like this. Greg adds a little beat boxing to proceedings, and the results are just stunning.

With this contemporary cover, I’m remembering just what I loved about that old tune. It may not have furry monsters, but this is definitely a video that both small children and the big kids can enjoy.

Wow. If you thought Disney just made kiddy films, think again. Their latest 2010 film Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time looks to a be a blockbuster comparable to Pirates of The Caribbean.

Even if you’re not a fan of Disney or multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbusters, you have to admit this looks amazing.

The producer of the POTC series worked on this video game adaptation and it looks breathtaking to say the least. Hopefully this film will have the same adventurous feel that the first Pirates movie had. Who knows, Jake Gyllenhaal could be the next Johnny Depp.

I remember playing Prince Of Persia as a kid and I have to say Disney definitely went all out on it’s $200 million budget on making it as close to the game as possible. Aside from the whole white-people-being-Persian thing of course.

But that’s Hollywood for ya.

Science Of Scams is a new web series/internet experiment designed by “a team on a global mission to make the world truly question the paranormal.”

Earlier this year, they scattered 7 paranormal hoax videos online (ghosts, ESP, Chi, etc) and now each week they are slowly revealing both the scam and the science behind each.

Hosts Kat and Derren certainly have impressive resumes. Kat studied at the University of Oxford and worked for the World Health Organization while Darren, a law student at Bristol, starred in the Channel 4 hit ‘Mind Control.’

Each week the duo confronts unexplainable paranormal activities and reveals how they actually work. If you’re a fan of Ouija Boards, “real” ghost sightings, and ESP, then this show might be hard to swallow.

Chi Energy Scam

As a fan of Chi energy (I’ve seen live demonstrations similar to the one in the clip), this video blew my mind. I still can’t believe I fell for some simple chemical reactions.

Tis the season to shop and thus is the time for a reminder of the disgusting place all the rampant consumerism of this time of year takes us to.

I think the most important quote from this introduction to What Would Jesus Buy is: “You don’t have to buy a gift to give a gift.”

How true. How very true.

With the Christmas decorations and such sneaking out extra early this year, I was already disgusted with consumerist Christmas way back in August.

I don’t mind a little shopping. I like to get a little something for my husband. But the things people do, turning into little more than vicious animals…

Wake up, people. Look at what you’re doing.

In the worse mass killing on an army base in all of history, army psychiatrist Major Malik Nadal Hassan has been shot and killed by police. This, after he shot more than forty people, killing some and wounding many.

To say this is a shocking incident seems like a poor description in light of everything that has happened.

How can a man who was disturbed and frustrated be working with other men as an army psychiatrist in the first place?

This is scary, to say the least, and is just one more thing that points to the US going down the toilet in multiple ways…

Tomorrow Rihanna will appear on 20/20 to give her full story about the Chris Brown assault incident that occurred earlier this year. If you ask me, the timing couldn’t be better- it gives a whole new meaning to Brown’s crappy “I Can Transform Ya” song.

It always surprises me when celebrities comment about not realizing their impact on their fanbase. After all, Rihanna is more of a brand name than ever. The downside with this, as she states, is that she is “human” just like the fans that look up to her.

Why break the silence now? Some are dismissing this is merely a publicity stunt to gather hype for her new album, but I’d have to disagree completely. Have you ever seen the singer more serious than in this interview?

This jubilant footballer from Castleton wasn’t going to let a lack of fans spoil his post-goal celebrations.

The empty grandstands didn’t dampen his enthusiasm any. He simply jumped the barrier and became his own fan!

The polite applause he gives is incredibly English, but it does the job. Who needs hooting and hollering when a nice clap will do the job just as well?

They might have lost the match, but I think this lad won them back a little self respect. I just hope that he showed the same fervor when his other teammates scored. Surely they deserve a little crowd acclaim as well!

There will be millions of us in the U.K. and America heading out to see bonfires burning, fireworks exploding in midair, and the burning of substitutes of Guy Fawkes.

But this video isn’t quite focused on that, instead showing clips from the movie V For Vendetta. The main character in the film is a modern-day Guy Fawkes, except he succeeds where his predecessor failed.

The Cookie Monster is currently sat atop Google’s homepage, literally eating his way through a cookie-constructed Google logo. This is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street.

However, 27 years ago, the Cookie Monster was already well aware of Google despite it not having been thought of yet. And here’s the proof.

Here we have a clip from Sesame Street all the way back in 1982, with the Cookie Monster singing The Google Bugle.

OK, so it isn’t about Google the company, instead being a reference to his Google-eyes, with the song using words which rhyme with Google. Such as Oogle, Bugle, and well, that’s about it really.

It’s a strange example of the universe coming together but we get to see the Cookie Monster singing a funny song. And that’s all that really matters at the end of the day.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. The show aired it’s first season back in 1969 and became an international phenomenon ever since.

But don’t tell Big Bird That. In this interview with Jimmy Kimmel he still thinks he’s only 6 years old.

It only seems appropriate for Jimmy Kimmel, who has dressed up as Big Bird in the past, to interview Sesame Street’s biggest star in person. Of course it’s impossible to tell who really is in the suit in this clip, but the performer is most likely Caroll Spinney.

Spinney, who is currently 75 years old now is still surprisingly as sharp as ever. Here’s to many more years of Sesame Street!

Robin Williams provides the voice acting for the quirky but lovable ‘Batty’ in the old classic animated film Fern Gully.

Wow, Fern Gully. I haven’t heard even the faintest peep about this movie for such a long time!

I watched this movie so many times as a kid that I actually wore down the VHS tape that we used to rent from the movie rental place.

When I was a little older, I could appreciate the commentary it was actually making with animal test subjects like Batty and pollution.

I think this movie needs to be rereleased. It gives an amazing, awesome message about taking care of the environment without getting preachy.

I’ve always been a Weezer fan because of their lack of fear to experiment with other artists and genres. In their latest album Ratitude they collaborate with everyone from Lil Wayne to Jermaine Dupri.

Just days ago the band performed their new single “I Want You To” for Sessions@AOL. The lovely Sara Bareillas (of “Love Song” fame) accompanies them.

Although Ratitude doesn’t live up to the hype in my opinion, it’s certainly worth the $3.99 that it’s currently selling for on iTunes. That being said, I certainly prefer this version of “I Want You To” to the album version of the track.

Most top-40 artists rely heavily on editing, but as you can see from this video Weezer is certainly the exception. Just the fact that a group of nerds has managed to stay relevant for such a long time in the music industry should be enough to put a smile on your face.
