The main downside to using FourWhere on a mobile platform, however, would be the size of the text making comments very difficult to read. Only a small portion of a map with the comments corresponding to the desired location could be viewed at a time. Thus, finding information in this way would become a slow process for popular venues or those with many comments. The other factor slowing down the information gathering process with this app is the fact that it forces a user to right-click a venue in order to integrate comments into the display rather than having a menu on the side of the screen, but users will adjust to that as well as the amount of time needed to sort through information.

To use the FourWhere app, search for the city you’ll be visiting in the upper right part of the screen and confirm the location. Then, to get the information others have checked into and posted, right-click somewhere on the map. The resulting menu provides the opportunity to let the app know whether you’d like to see all of the nearby places Foursquare users checked into, only those venues that have comments provided by the users, or to clear the map and begin again with a new city. During the past year, many mobile social networking fans have at least wanted to adopt the Foursquare app. However, in its earliest incarnation, its only availability had been for the iPhone and in the form of a web interface which was not so simple to navigate. April 2009 saw developers Joe LaPenna and Chris Brummel begin coding the app in their spare time. Although the Foursquare for Android resembles its iPhone predecessor, the new version contains features not found there. Other than that and the unique Android look and feel to the app, it treats friends check in lists and badge displays the same as its iPhone cousin.

Foursquare could have set up its Android app to run in the background on that platform, but chose to do otherwise. Foursquare claims it gives the devices better speed and battery life since the program would not be running when the user is otherwise occupied. This does show logic based upon the company’s previous ideas, though, as those who use it generally prefer to check in manually with others in the process of seeking information about with whom to meet and where to go.

The fact of the Android version of Foursquare being open-source and in the app store now will excite those who wish to adopt it earlier than most since Android phones have gained popularity. The developers have posted user information on the Google Code Page and as documentation for first time users. The Android App can be found for free in the Android Market or downloaded from the Google Code Page to be installed by more advanced users to suit their specs. Of course, as users grab the app and give feedback to Foursquare, the company plans upgrades in the future, beginning with revisions of the app’s performance and user interface, although the developers continue working on which aspect to advance first. Thus, as Foursquare’s mobile connectivity app spreads into new territory with an Android app, more people will discover new ways of setting up meetings with friends and making socializing on the go easier.

Current users find Buzz to be a much better check-in and location service than social network. MySpace users anticipate the integration of HootSuite to their social sphere having a resemblance to its origin on Twitter’s Tweetdeck. The movie is going to be called “The Social Network” and plans to begin working on the film have already been arranged. According to Filmofillia, “The Social Network” has been given the green-light from Columbia Pictures and will start shooting this year. ”
They are scheduling to begin shooting the film in Boston, Massachusetts. The film is loosely based off of the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg.

The film is going to go over how Mark started the social network and came up with the idea for Facebook while he was studying at Harvard. Rumors are stating that part of the movie that was actually filmed at the Harvard campus. The film will be directed by David Fincher who has already received a three time winning Oscar for his direction in the film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The Social Network movie for Facebook is actually based off of a prior released book that was named the Accidental Billionaires. The book was written by Ben Mezrich and it made the news for properly documenting how Facebook was created and how presently it is ranked one of the most popular social networks on the internet with over 400 million users.

4. Send a public reply before Direct Messaging – Not everyone checks their Twitter direct messages, try sending the user a public @reply before sending a direct message (DM). If you do not receive a response back from your DM or public reply try again at a later time.

5. Have some one else review it- if your message screams the need for clarification, have a friend review it and ask them what they think. If the the message is received by them in the same manner as your intent, chances are you are on the right track.

6. Be Objective – Don’t let your personal biases of situations cloud your judgement. Be objective, take each messages as it is and not what you feel it may be.

7. Keep it Simple – Large words may make increase your vocabulary, but not everyone understands what they mean in the 140 character message you may be using them in. Use small direct words, that don’t have multiple meanings to have the greatest chances of success.

At this point you will be given the option to choose from three different settings. There is the setting for your friends only, the public and another one for only users under the age of 18. Choose to only have your page shown to your friends only and you’re done!

Be aware that if you are under the age of 18 your profile is automatically set to private. If you try to change your profile in order to gain more viewers and you are under the age of 18 you risk the chance of losing your profile page entirely.

For a lot of people when they think of MySpace, they simply look at this site as being a community where people can make friends and reunite with their old ones. However, for people that are skilled internet marketers, MySpace can be a place to get your business out to the public.

Even though, MySpace is intended for non-commercial use, and commercial companies are restricted from advertising in order to generate sales. MySpace can actually still work as a great platform to showcase your business on.

According to the official MySpace mission statement all members are required to sign before gaining access to the online community, MySpace is strictly intended for non-commercial utilization. However, this statement is only referring to individual pages that are built for the sole purpose of selling a particular item.

In fact, MySpace actually is a commercial based website. There are a lot of different advertisements that they showcase on the sidebars on different pages and in other locations around the site. These advertising spaces are actually open to the public and if you wish, you can have your advertisement placed on MySpace as well in order to showcase your business.

However, in order to get your advertisement listed on MySpace you will need to contact the site directly in order to obtain information regarding pricing and things of that nature. You can opt to advertisement your business through free ventures by posting discrete links on your page, or you can take the route to paid advertisements on MySpace.
