Webkinz can be a great cost effective release in todays economy

I was thinking the other day that you can get a lot of enjoyment from Webkinz at a pretty low price. You can purchase a pet for $10 or less and get full use of Webkinz World for a whole year. That’s pretty good value for todays cost structure. With the membership you can plan as much as you like and enjoy the games, collecting and friendship building that Webkinz promotes. Sure it’s easy to fall victim to the cute little plushy toys and want to collect them all. But you only need one to enjoy the online world.

Considering that many other online worlds or kids sites require a monthly fee that can be $5 or more per month. This makes Webkinz just a fraction of the cost and I think it’s a better place regardless of the cost.

Webkinz Love Monkey to arrive for Valentines Day

The Webkinz Love Monkey will be around for Valentines Day this year. The 2009 Webkinz Valentines pet will be in stores any day. The Love Monkey is the latest to join the Love line of Webkinz. The monkey will join the Love Frog to celebrate the Month of Love.

The pink primate will come with the Lovely Monkey Armchair and Blushin’ Banana Bread. The pink loaf of bread is both delicious looking and just right for the holiday.

After talking with a few local Webkinz resellers, we have acquired the following details about the upcoming Webkinz Jr. products.

WebkinzJr. plushes are going to be larger than the full-sized Webkinz plushies. Most Webkinz are 8 inches, while the plushes in the new Webkinz Jr. line are 12 inches in size. They are created to be huggable and squeezable for younger children.

Webkinz Jr. plushes will be significantly more expensive than full-sized Webkinz. With the larger-sized plushes, more fabric is involved and a whole new site has been designed for them, so they will be much more expensive. They were orderable for a short time on the retailer site and, according to the wholesale price, we’ve been told that they will retail for approximately $25.

Webkinz Jr. plushes will be released in limited supply. There has not been any numbers released, but the plan at this point is to control supply and not flood the market. It would seem that Ganz is trying to create a more collectors buzz on its new plushies.

Ganz will be creating Webkinz Signature Plush Pieces. We have heard that Ganz plans to release a Webkinz in the larger plush (12 inch) size each month with the monthly Webkinz releases. These will be more expensive, but also very limited in supply for collectors. One of the first of this new plush addition to Webkinz is a Panda.

Webkinz Spotted Turtle coming soon to a store near you

The Webkinz Spotted Turtle will be arriving in stores in February. This little guy comes with a spotted rug and a Peanut Butter and Jellyfish sandwich. That sandwich reminds me of something I would see in a Spongebob episode. My son is sure to love this Turtle as much as the original Webkinz Turtle.

Ganz will be launching Webkinz Jr. in Spring 2009

With surprising news today Ganz has announced that they are creating Webkinz Jr. A new virtual world geared for younger children. This has been something that I have been wondering how Ganz would try to hold the attention of its user base as it ages. My guess is that Webkinz Jr. will be there to draw kids in and Webkinz World with slowly mature for kids moving closer to their tweens. The announcement states that the release will be in late Spring 2009, but several retailers have already commented that the plushy toys will begin shipping in the last week of February.

New Bamboo Break game in Webkinz World

A new game was released in the Webkinz Arcade and Tournament Arena today. It’s Bamboo Break a Tetris type game. If you have ever played Tetris you will do well at this game. The over all speed of the game seems pretty slow right now from my first view.

There are options to turn sound on and off, you use also toggle the feature to show how the block will lay as its falling down. The scoring of the game will reward you with $1 kinzcash per 110 points in the game. You will also get more points for clearing multiple lines at once, the game ends if any piece touches the top of the screen. The game will present you with Bonus challenges that you can earn and will give you an option to win a prize at the end of the game. The more bonus chips you collect the better your chances are for winning the prize.

Webkinz has updated the Trading Room

The Webkinz team has been busy updating the Trading Room. The new room has been modified to provide more safety for users trading high value items. The new system will warn customers trading high value items for low value items. It will present an additional warning screen, but will still allow the trade to complete if the user ok’s the trade. This should help to cut down on the scams that some rude users have been using.

New Webkinz Lil’ Kinz Pink Glitter Fish coming soon

If you as big of a fan of the underwater Webkinz as we are, your gonna love this new Lil’ Kinz. This new little fish offers a lot of shinny glitter to the party. The plushy is due in stores sometime in February.

This new little fishy will come with the following virtual item and food. The Pink Glitter Fish loves the Crispy Kelp Salad and stare at herself all day in the Glarmorous Glitter Vanity.

Webkinz Winterfest 2009 is just around the corner

It’s that time of year again and Winterfest is less than a week away. This years event is set to kickoff on January 12th and finish up on the 18th. You will be watching out for snowflakes again, and by clicking on a snowflake you will be given a special prize.
