So what is a “Membership Site” Page? Also known as “Customer Download” Pages?

If you are selling digital goods, coaching programs, or anything online that does not have something you ship in the mail, you will need to create a membership site page, or a digital download page.  These are pages on the internet, (usually password protected), where you can give your customers a place to retrieve the goods or services that you just sold.

Now if you are selling training programs, you will want to create an organized place where your customers can access their training.

You are going to want to have a  “Membership Site” or “Digital Download” page for your customers, so that they have a place to go, to download or view online your privately protected pages.

Here is a paraphrase of the Wikipedia definition of  Digital Downloads:

Digital distribution, (also called content delivery, online distribution, electronic software distribution (ESD), among others) describes the delivery of media content such as audio, video, software and video games over online delivery mediums, such as broadcasting or the Internet.

Digital distribution bypasses conventional physical distribution media, such as paper or DVDs. The term online distribution is typically applied to freestanding products; downloadable add-ons for other products are more commonly known as downloadable content.

When selling your products or programs on the internet,  one of the things that you will want, besides your main website, is a “Sales Letter Page”.

So what is a “Sales Letter” Page?

A “Sales Letter” Page is a single page on your website without distracting sidebars to focus the reader to purchase your product or program.  Most of the time there is not any navigation at the top of the page, (however sometimes there is).  The purpose is to lead the reader down the page, explaining the product or program, and take them to the order form.

You are going to want to have a “Sales Letter” Page for your business, so that you can sell your medium to higher priced programs in a more focused way.

Here is the Wikipedia definition of a Sales Letter:

A sales letter is a piece of direct mail which is designed to persuade the reader to purchase a particular product or service in the absence of a salesman. It has been defined as “A form of direct mail in which an advertiser sends a letter to a potential customer.”[1]

It is distinct from other direct mail techniques, such as the distribution of leaflets and catalogues, as the sales letter typically sells a single product or product line, and further tends to be mainly textual as opposed to graphics-based. It is typically used for products or services which, due to their price, are a considered purchase at medium or high value (typically tens to thousands of dollars).

A sales letter is often, but not exclusively, the last stage of the sales process before the customer places an order, and is designed to ensure that the prospect is committed to becoming a customer.

The general goal of a landing page is to convert site visitors into sales leads. By analyzing activity generated by the linked URL, marketers can use click-through rates and Conversion rate to determine the success of an advertisement.

A big part of having a successful online business, is to have a ‘Marketing Funnel’.

If you are wondering: “What is a ‘Marketing Funnel’ well here is the definition: A ‘Marketing Funnel’, also known as a ‘Sales Funnel’, is a process by which you lead people through a series of web pages and email opt in boxes, to guide them to purchase your programs and services.  It’s a way to capture, and filter people out, so that you get the best customers possible.

Often the best way to explain something is with pictures!

When building a website, one of the things you are going to want to have is images on your website.  But not everyone has time to go out and shoot images with a camera, or create original artwork.  Well no worries because you can use stock photography!

I prefer to use iStockPhoto (my link for them is  http://www.christinasresources.com/istock/ ) because I know that I am getting royalty free images and I don’t have to worry about anything.  They are low cost, AND they give away free images each week!

‘Stock photography’ or ‘Stock images’ are images created by professionals  licensed for specific uses. Stock images are  used to fulfill the needs of any creative work,  instead of having to hire a photographer or illustrator.  People use them all the time for website or documents.
