පිටිසර පැත්තෙ ගමක ඉස්කෝලෙකට අළුතින් සිංහල ගුරුවරයෙක් මාරුවීමක් අරන් ආවළු.....

මේ ගුරුතුමා ආපු ඉස්කෝලෙ ළමයි අවුරුදු දෙකකට පස්සෙ තමයි ඉතිං සිංහල උගන්වන්න ආපු ගුරුවරයෙක්ව දැකලා තියෙන්නේ.....

පිටිසර හින්දා ගුරුවරු මේපාසලට එන්න ගොඩාක් අකමැතියි....
කොහොමින් කොහොම හරි මේ ගුරුවරයාට දුක හිතුනළු මේ පාසලේ ලමයි ගැන.....

අවුරුදු දෙකක් කියන්නේ පොඩි කාලයක් නෙවෙයිනේ.....

ඔන්න මේ ගුරුවරයා පහුවදාම ඉගැන්වීම් කටයුතුවල නිරත වෙන්න තීරණය කලා...

පහුවදා ඔන්න උදා උනාලු.......

කොහොමින් කොහොම හරි.... ළමයි ගුරුවරයාවත්.... ගුරුවරයා ළමයි වත් අදුන ගත්තට එහෙම පස්සෙ.... ඉගැන්වීම් කටයුතු වල නිරත වෙන්න තීරනය කරපු මේ ගුරුතුමා මුල්ම පාඩම විදිහට ව්යාකරන පාඩම පටන් ගත්තා....

ඔන් පොත් බලන අතරෙ දැක්කා " කමල්ගෙ " පොතේ ලියලා තියන වාක්යයක්....

නිකමට වගේ පවරපු වැඩේ කරලාද බලන්න ගුරුතුමා කළු ලෑල්ල දිහා බැලුවා....

Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara delivered a hugely impressive speech Monday, July 4 at Lord’s when he raised to deliver the MCC Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture. Kumar Sangakkara was the first Sri Lankan Cricketer to deliver a MCC Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture. Sangakkara who is 33 year old and currently touring England is the first firsr current cricketer and youngest Cricketer to deliver this highly regarded lecture at Lord”s.

MCC Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey lecture started in 2011 in memory of the late Colin Cowdrey who was the first Cricketer to play 100 test matches. Cowdrey also a past president of MCC. “Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey lecture” is held every year in July and has been delivered by distinguished figures from across the world of cricket.

Sunil Gavaskar (2003), Clive Lloyd (2004), Geoffrey Boycott (2005), Martin Crowe (2006), Adam Gilchrist (2009) and Imran Khan (2010) are few of the popular Cricketers who have already delivered an oration.

speech was mainly focused on history of cricket in Sri Lanka and he touched on many other areas related to todays Cricket and Spirit of Cricket.
Kumar Sangakkara recognized the role played by great Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranathunga in developing Sri Lanka cricket. He was through in describing how a small nation like Sri Lanka produced one of best Cricket team in the world. While vividly describing reasons for his early retirement from Sri Lanka captaincy, he described how politics have invaded Sport and the harm being done to the spirit of cricket. He described how, since Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup victory, Sri Lanka cricket administration had changed “from a volunteer-led organisation run by well-meaning men of integrity into a multimillion-dollar organisation that has been in turmoil ever since”.

ආදරය. අකුරු හතරයි. ආදරේ වර්ග ගොඩක් තියනවා. දෙමාපියන්ගෙන් දරුවන්ට, පොඩි ළමයින්ට, පෙම්වතුන් දෙන්නෙක් අතර, සත්තුන්ට, ගහ කොළට ආදරේ ඇති වෙන්න පුලුවන්. අපි ආදරේ කරනවා. ඒකෙන් අපි සංසාරික බැඳීම් වලින් එකක් වෙන පෙම්වතුන් දෙන්නෙක් අතර ඇති වෙන ආදරේ ගැන කතා කරමු. සංසාරික බැඳීමක් කිව්වේ යශෝධරා දේවියත් ලේන කුලේ ඉඳලම බුදුන්වහන්සේව පතාගෙන ආපු නිසා.

ගොඩක් අය ආදරේ කරනවා ඇති. කරලත් ඇති. ආදරෙන් වේදනා විඳලත් ඇති. වෙන කෙනෙක්ට වේදනාවක් දීපු අයත් ඇති. ඒත් අපි මේ ආදරේ කියන එකෙන් අදහස් කරන්නේ පෙම්වතියට\පෙම්වතාට තෑගි අරන් දෙන එකද? එයත් එක්ක කතා කර කර කාලෙ ගෙවන එකද? චුම්බනය කරන එකද? ෆිල්ම් බලන්න යන එකද? වැලඳගන්න එකද? නැත්තෙමත් නැහැ. ඒත් ආදරේ කියන එක ඇතුලේ ගොඩක් ගැඹුරු අර්ථයක් තියනවා. කෙනක් තවත් කෙනෙක්ව දැකල එයා ලස්සනයි කියලා එයාගෙ පස්සෙන් ගිහින් ආදරේ කරන එක ඇත්තම ආදරේද? ගොඩක් ෆිල්ම් වල නම් ආදරේ කියන්නේ ඒකට. ඒත් ඒකෙන් දෙන්නේ වැරදි ආදර්ශයක්. මේක දිගින් දිගටම ආපු දෙයක් නිසා සමහරු ඒක තමයි ආදරේ කියලා තෙරුම් ගනීවි. එහෙම කරලා අනාගතේ දුක් විඳීවි. මේක නෙවෙයි ආදරේ කියලා.

ආදරේ කරද්දි දෙන්නම සතුටින් ඉන්න ඕනි. ඊට කලින් දෙන්නට දෙන්නා තම තමන්ගෙ අදහස් තේරුම් ගන්න ඔනි.අනෙක් කෙනා කවුද එයා මොනාද කරන්නේ ඇයි මම එයාට ආදරේ කරන්නේ, එයයි මායි කොයි තරම් ගැලපෙනවද කියලා හිතන්න ඕනි. අනෙක් කෙනා නිසා කවදාවත් තමන්ගේ ලඟ තියන ගති ගුණ වෙනස් කරගන්න හොඳ නැහැ. නරක පුරුදු නම් අත් ඇරුයට කමක් නැහැ. තමන්ටම ආවේණික උනු ගති ලක්ෂණ තියනවා නම් ඒවා නැති කරගන්න හදන්න එපා. අනෙක් කෙනාට ඒවා නොපෙන්වා ඉන්න හදන්නත් එපා. මොකද කියනව නම් ඒවා කවද හරි අපෙන් එලියට එනවා. එතකොට අනික් කෙනා හිතයි අපි කළේ බොරුවක් කියලා. එදාට දෙන්න අතරේ ප්‍රශ්න ඇති වෙන්න පටන් ගනීවී.

කවදාවත් තමන් ආදරේ කරන කෙනාට බොරුවක් කරන්න එපා. තමන්ගෙ ලඟ නැති හොඳ මවල පෙන්නන්න හදන්නෙපා. එයාට පුළුවන් උපරිමයෙන් ආදරේ කරන්න. හිතේ කොයිම වෙලාවකවත් රාගයක් තියාගන්න එපා. ලිංගිකත්වය කියන්නේ ජීවිතේ නෙවෙයි. ඒක ජීවිතෙන් පුංචි තිතක්. අපි ගොඩාක් ආදරේ කරනවා කියලා හිතාගෙන ආදරේ කරපු අය අපිව දාලා යනවා. ඇයි? එයා අපේක්ශා කරල තියන ආදරේ ඒක නෙවෙයි. ඊට වඩා වෙනස් විදියක ආදරයක් එයා බලාපොරොත්තු වෙලා. එහෙම දාලා ගියපු කෙනෙක් පස්සේ ආයිමත් යන්න හිතන්නෙපා. හිතේ ඇත්තටම ආදරයක් ඇති. නමුත් එහාට මෙහාට වැනෙන ආදරේකින් වැඩක් නැහැ. ආදරේ ඇත්ත නම් කවදාවත් තමන්ගේ සහකාරයා තමන්ව දාලා යන්නේ නැහැ. ඒ වගේමයි ආදරේ කරන කෙනාගේ පස්සේන් ඔනවට වඩා යන්න එපා. එයාගේ නිදහස එයාට දෙන්න. අහේතුකව හිතේ පුංචි සැකයක් වත් ආදරේ කරන කෙනා ගැන තියා ගන්න එපා. එයාට නීති දාන්න එපා. තමන්ට ඕනි දේවල් එයාගෙන් බලෙන් ලබාගන්න හදන්න එපා.

MySQL Error Checking in PHP

So often it seems that I am seeing someone struggling to find out what is wrong with their PHP script. They see the following error message:

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc():

supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource

in /var/www/htdocs/somefile.php on line 18

and have no clue what this means. The line number has no bearing on where the real problem is, and there may be a whole cascade of these messages. Let's assume the code looks something like this:
mysql_connect ("server", "user", "password");
mysql_select_db ("dbname");

$result = mysql_query ("SELECT something FROM mytable");

while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc ($result))
{
...
}

Where did the error occur? The answer is it could be any number of places. Let's make a list:

The server name is wrong.
MySQL is not running on the server
The script is being run on a host that is not allowed to connect to the MySQL server
Incorrect username
Incorrect password
The database does not exist
The username does not have permission to access the database at all

And finally:

There is an error in the query

So we can play the guessing game trying to figure out where the error is. Or we can do error checking. The next mistake is to do some error checking, but not in all potential places for error. This can be more confusing than no error checking at all. Let's say that we checked for errors after the call to mysql_query but nowhere else, and the connect call failed.

We put in the password wrong perhaps. So the call to mysql_connect fails. Then the call to mysql_select_db fails. Finally the call to mysql_query fails. We actually do check the error message here and what we get is the following:

Access denied for user 'nobody'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

At this point our user is scratching his head, because he knows he put in the right credentials, he's double-checked. This error message gives a complete different set of credentials: wrong username, no password, maybe even a diffrent server name. The reason for this, which is not always obvious, is that a connection did not get established via mysql_connect, so PHP reverts to a default set that is in its config file. Chances are nobody has edited it to put valid credentials in, and I wouldn't personally recommend it for security reasons.

So we can see how it is essential to perform error checking every step of the way to eliminate any guesswork as to what went wrong, where it went wrong, and why. The remaining item to discuss is how to check for errors. There are numerous different styles and techniques, each with their own pros and cons. My personal preference is to do several things:

Store the credentials in a separate script. This might even be outside of the htdocs directory tree entirely, so there is no chance of someone referencing it maliciously.

Write a small script that references the credentials script, connects to the database and selects the database, using proper error checking of course.

(At this point we have eliminated the possibility of any connection error being mistaken for a faulty query)

Display a compound error message with detailed information about a failing query.

I prefer a compound error message since it provides complete details, but any of the following will work. I recommend aborting the page load by calling die since it can print a message and do the abort in a single call. Plus it can be piggy-backed onto the mysql function calls using the short-circuit boolean logic which says that if the left-hand operand of an or is true, the right-hand side is ignored. So simply append one of the following forms:

or die()
or die("Query failed!")
or die ("Query failed: " . mysql_error())
or die ("Query failed: " . mysql_error() . " Actual query: " . $query)

I prefer the latter with its complete display of pertinent information. If you have more than one query in a particular document, it may be helpful to add some indication of which on failed to further eliminate confusion.

Check to make sure Windows is up to date, then be sure to set Windows Update to "Update Automatically" so that you do not miss any important updates. Most users should also make sure that Windows Firewall is enabled, but running more than one firewall can cause conflicts; check your firewall’s frequently asked questions (FAQ) to learn more.

Additionally, both Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox offer Private Browsing, a feature that keeps the browser from storing the information collected while surfing sites. Private Browsing deletes the history, cookies, forms and settings for that session.

This often forces you to make certain concessions that most users would rather avoid, such as logging in to sites every time you visit. More advanced users can tailor their online security using “Internet Options,” available in both browsers under Tools.

In IE, you can set your privacy and security simply by adjusting the settings under the appropriate tabs. "Medium-High" should be sufficient for most users on both tabs, but be sure to check “Enable Protected Mode” on the “Security” tab.

However it is important to remember that there are no completely fail-proof methods to projecting yourself from identity theft. Online criminals are always looking for ways to compromise victims’ security. Highest-Paying Degrees for 2010 Graduates

Summary: For students who earned a Bachelor’s degree, four of the five top-paying majors were engineers. Computer science was the only non-engineering major in the top five.

The following table from the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) shows the highest-paying majors for students who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2010.

As you can see, four of the five top-paying majors were engineers. The top-paying major, petroleum engineering, had an average starting salary of $74,799, followed by chemical engineering with an average starting salary of $65,628. Computer science was the only non-engineering major to crack the top five, and it came in third with an average starting salary of $61,112. Computer engineering at $59,917 and electrical/electronic engineering at $59,391 rounded out the top five.

While these were the highest paying majors for 2010, all except chemical engineering represent a decrease when compared to 2009. Salaries for chemical engineers increased 1.1 percent; salaries for petroleum engineers, computer science majors, computer engineers, and electrical/electronic engineers decreased 10, .05, 2.9, and 1.2 percent, respectively.

According to Marilyn Mackes, executive director of NACE, the high starting salaries are due to a shortage of personnel in these fields.

Digital Certificate is an encrypted and digitally signed attachment that authenticates a user on the Internet/ intranet. A digital certificate is issued by a certificate authority (CA), and attests to the legitimacy of an online transfer of information, or other sensitive materials through the use of encryption.

A digital certificate includes the sender's name, a serial number, expiration dates, a copy of the certificate holder's public key, and the digital signature of the issuing CA.A digital certificate holder has both a private key and a public key. The private key is held only by the user and is for signing outgoing messages and decrypting incoming messages.

The public key is available to anyone for encrypting data to send to the holder of that public key, who then uses the private key to decrypt the message. Many digital certificates conform to the X.509 standard.

Note : actually here the digital equivalent of an ID card in conjunction with a public key encryption is used to get certified.which is called “Digital ID” ,”Digital Identity Certificate ”, “Identity Certificate” ," Public Key Certificate".

Digital Certificates are Issued by a trusted third party known as “Certification Authority” (CA) such as VeriSign and Thawte.which verifies the public key belongs to a specific company or the individual , and the validation process it goes to determined who it clims to be depends on the level of certification.

Creating the Certificate :

After the validation process is completed , the CA creates aan X.509 certificatie that contains CA and Subject information, including the subject’s public key. The CA signs the certificate by creating a digest (hash) of all the fields in the certificate and encrypting the hash value with its private key.

The encrypted digest is called “Digital Signature ” and when place in to the X.509 certificate is said to be “Signed”.

Note : CA keeps its private key very secretly as if it is ever unveiled false certifications could be created.

Process of Signed Certificate verification :

Is done by the recepients software that is typically the web browser.initially the browser maintain its internal list of popular CA s and their public keys and uses the appropriate public key to decrypt the signature back in to the digest.

Then recomutes its ow set of digest from the text I the certification and compares the two .if both match the integrity of the certificate is verified.

Then the subject's public key may also be used to provide a secure key exchange in order to have an encrypted two-way communications session

What is robots.txt?

When a search engine crawler comes to your site, it will look for a special file on your site. That file is called robots.txt and it tells the search engine spider, which Web pages of your site should be indexed and which Web pages should be ignored. (i.e. it is not a firewall, or a kind of password protection). The robots.txt file is a simple text file (no HTML), that must be placed in your root directory, for example:

http://www.yourwebsite.com/robots.txt

The location of robots.txt is very important. It must be in the main directory because otherwise user agents (search engines) will not be able to find it – they do not search the whole site for a file named robots.txt. Instead, they look first in the main directory and if they don't find it there, they simply assume that this site does not have a robots.txt file and therefore they index everything they find along the way. So, if you don't put robots.txt in the right place, do not be surprised that search engines index your whole site.

Where it is in action?

Significantly the precence of a robot.txt file may be ,

when we have two versions of a page (one for viewing in the browser and one for printing), we'd rather have the printing version excluded from crawling, (otherwise risk being imposed a duplicate content penalty)
where it happen to have sensitive data on a site that presence information do not want the world to see, you will also prefer that search engines do not index these pages .
Additionally,where we want to save some bandwidth by excluding images, stylesheets and javascript from indexing, it is also need a way to tell spiders to keep away from these items.

Why Do my site Need One?

All search engines, or at least all the important ones, now look for a robots.txt file as soon their spiders or bots arrive on your site. So, even if you currently do not need to exclude the spiders from any part of your site, having a robots.txt file is still a good idea, it can act as a sort of invitation into your site.

There are a number of situations where you may wish to exclude spiders from some or all of your site.

You are still building the site, or certain pages, and do not want the unfinished work to appear in search engines

You have information that, while not sensitive enough to bother password protecting, is of no interest to anyone but those it is intended for and you would prefer it did not appear in search engines.

Most people will have some directories they would prefer were not crawled - for example do you really need to have your cgi-bin indexed? Or a directory that simply contains thank you or error pages.

If you are using doorway pages (similar pages, each optimized for an individual search engine) you may wish to ensure that individual robots do not have access to all of them. This is important in order to avoid being penalized for spamming a search engine with a series of overly similar pages.

You would like to exclude some bots or spiders altogether, for example those from search engines you do not want to appear in or those whose chief purpose is collecting email addresses.

The very fact that search engines are looking for them is reason enough to put one on your site. Have you looked at your site statistics recently? If your stats include a section on 'files not found', you are sure to see many entries where search engines spiders looked for, and failed to find, a robots.txt file on your site.

Its has been a mess that we don't like installing soft-wares on our machine since then we are using portable applications for such purposes.
really a portable application gives a number of pros to its users
save the memory space and give portability of using the application with out installing it.in fact this way we can always carry around our favorite portable apps in your pen drive and use when needed.
one con of portable app is the chance of missing full functionalities of the installed app.
