Ivana and Ross | Engaged

Yesterday as I was leaving the gym at around 5:30 pm my car said it was 76 degrees outside. What a lovely day it was. And today May 1st, it was a high of 32 and we have several inches of fresh snow on the ground! Crazy right? Colorado can be so unpredictable. I just had to post this session from a couple of months ago with Ivana and Ross. Ivana is gorgeous and so incredibly sweet, we hit it off from the start! And Ross is the marshmallow to her heart chocolate. Haha Okay that was a little cheesy. But really they are great together and we had a blast trying to find snow in Woodland Park and loving every minute of it! I cannot wait for their wedding at Sylvandale Guest Ranch later this summer!

Hello gorgeous warm light that wraps you up like a blanket on a cold day! I LOVE this light!

Obviously when Ivana busted out these super cute homemade heart shaped marshmallows I had to do the ring shot on them. Let’s just say the ring may or may not have gone for a quick swim in the process but it was so worth it!

And because engagements are FUN, we decided to end the session with a playful snowball fight with the greatest backdrop you could ask for! These two get serious about snowball fights. I was literally bursting with laughter during these!

I have reached that phase in life where let’s face it, EVERYONE I know is having babies. Or at least it seems like it. In addition to shopping for these new babies and attending baby showers sometimes I get the privilege of photographing these gorgeous mama to be’s. Sierra is no exception she is beautiful inside and out and I can’t wait until Baby Liam gets here so that I can get him in front of my camera as well! Just a couple more months and Sierra and Ben will join the parenthood club. Until then she is glowing with anticipation! Stay tuned to the end of this post for a special announcement!

I recently had the opportunity to photography the very talented Amy Sullivan of Design Kit Creative. She is an amazing illustrator and designer with a super fabulous light filled studio here in Colorado Springs! I am incredibly envious of this space so of course when she asked me to photograph her in it I jumped right on it! It is fun to see someone with an artform so different to mine at work. It is truly fascinating to see what creative minds can come up with! She is also the brains and hands behind the creation of my new branding. Also Amy along with these images were featured in the Land of Nod Catalog! Without further ado….

Ashton & Grant | Wedding | The Day After | Sylvandale Guest Ranch Wedding Photographer

After seeing their wedding day post yesterday I am sure a little whole in your heart was missing since there were no couples portraits. Well Ashton and Grant decided to do a day after session instead. Which meant I got to hang out with them for a little while their first day as husband and wife. And believe it or not the rain came but when it did we already had everything we needed. Why? Because they chose a gorgeous place to get married and they themselves are a gorgeous couple who are oh so much in love. You two sure made my job easy.

I feel like I spend a whole hour writing about all of the little things that made this wedding amazing. But I am not going to do that, because well….that’s what photos are for. But I will tell you that Ashton & Grant are a fabulous couple with a sweet love story. And somehow with the help of their loved ones all of the pieces came together for probably the most romantic environment I have ever seen created at a wedding. The ceremony and reception took place at the Sylvandale Guest Ranch in Loveland, CO. Also note that they decided to keep their couples portraits to a day after session so those will be featured in a separate post tomorrow! Congrats you two, we had a blast shooting your wedding and hope that you enjoyed your Bora Bora honeymoon(I am so jealous!)

Her sweet little dog knew something was up and wouldn’t leave her side! So cute!

Meanwhile back at the ranch…er hotel….my super awesome second shooter Matt was getting some pics of the guys!

I love sneaking up and getting photos of the couple the moment after they walk after their ceremony.

And then when the family and bridal party joined them, the emotions poured!

This was a seriously beautiful wedding and many of the details were mastered by Ashton’s mom who owns Vines Vintage in Ft. Collins.

Well this was my last wedding of the year! I can hardly believe it. And I have to say I couldn’t have chosen a better couple to end such an amazing year with. These two are so special to me as I have grown to know them and witness their love, I would now consider them friends! After going though the photos of their beautiful wedding at the Sanctuary Golf Course in Castles Pines, CO I tried to narrow down my favorites to blog….I picked 350! Can you believe it? Needless to say I had to narrow them down a bit from there but this will likely be a long blog post. A huge thanks goes to Sarah of Lola Photography for second shooting this wedding with me and getting some amazing shots! Working with her reminds me how important it is to have a fabulous second shooter at my side. She is always seeing sometime different while I am getting the shot. I’ll show you some examples in this post!

Jocelyn and Doug met when she was a barista at a coffee shop and she LOVES coffee. So we had to make a quick stop on the way to the venue!

Daddy’s little girl…I love this gift and the final moments before she walked down the aisle. It’s a pleasure to get to capture the memories that not everyone gets to witness.

Without a doubt I am sure you will recognize these two as I have had the opportunity to photograph them a couple of times and I LOVE them. They have brought so much joy and laughter to my life and this shoot was no different. After adding to their family this year with a new puppy Charlotte they needed some updated photos. Also Julia just started a new job at the Navigators and wanted the photos done at Glen Eyrie. It truly is such a beautiful place to shoot and I was more than happy to spend the afternoon having some photo fun around the castle and in the leaves!

Photographing couples that are so truly joyful and in love is one of the greatest blessings of my life! And Ashley & Mike they are just one of those couples. This fall came and went pretty fast and on a cool and windy October day these two traveled down to join me in the search for some fall colors. We found a spot that had the best colors left in town and had a ball. It doesn’t hurt that Mike has a smile that would light up any room and Ashley…well she could be a model! I can’t wait for their wedding next May!

Marie & John | Vow Renewal | Crested Butte Wedding Photographer

Marie said when she first saw him in the college cafeteria she knew that she would marry him and right then she told him that! Naturally as any guy would he thought she was maybe a little crazy and brushed it off. But you know what over the years and after failed relationships with other people it became more and more clear that when Marie just knew that day that she was right! They got married in a little courthouse, started a beautiful family and began a beautiful life together. When Marie contacted me about photographing their vow renewal in Crested Butte, CO I was thrilled and jumped on the opportunity! They planned for a beautiful October fall day in the mountains…when I woke that day in the cabin we rented for the weekend I found that it might be a little more winter than fall. But despite the wind and the cold temperatures it was GORGEOUS! I think we got a couple of photos that prove that. Thank you both for allowing me to join your families and capture such a beautiful love with my camera!

Marie and Johns kids are not only precious but funny and smart! I loved them so much and wanted to steal them and bring them home with me.

Lathrop Family fun and Pirates too | Colorado Springs Family Photographer

It is hard to believe that I have been photographing this family since their youngest was 6 months old! They are a true example of clients becoming friends and quite frankly I love them to pieces. So when I found out that Christy was diagnosed with cancer last year I ached with her as she accepted her new normal. But guess what she is now cancer free and this is our first photoshoot since the whole ordeal. And through it all I think they have become an even closer family and because of that this little shoot will always hold a place in my heart. Lathrop family thank you for being you and for allowing me and my camera to come along and document your family journey!

I LOVE how these Indiana Jones shots turned out. Just letting the kids bring their costume box and play turned out to be so much fun!
