LOVE this planner!

I am in the first stages of wedding planning. I bought this book mainly because I have no clue what it entails to plan a bash for the big day. When I received this, I immediately noticed the perfect design of the book - elegant style, 3 ring binder, nice, large tabs to separate and organize.

Most of the pages inside are for "final" decisions. For example - there are pages for catering, cake, jewlery, etc....but no pages for comparisons of different vendors. Because I am in my first stages of wedding planning, I have several different vendors that I'm considering as of right now, and my only quirk with this book is that I don't have pages to fill out to compare and contrast different companies, reception halls, etc. However, I am fixing that by making copies of each page and making a page for each vendor I am considering, and when I make my final decision, those other pages will go to the back of the book.

This book also does not have any kind of pocket organization. In other words, there is no pocket or folder within in the binder to store brochures, pictures, or magazine cutouts. This fact doesn't bother me too much because one can always go to their local office supply store and buy some binder folders (this is a standard 3-ring binder after all, which makes for easy changes and easy additions.)

I couldn't recommend this book more! My friends already are impressed with how organized I am. My guest list is in the works, and I am using the planner's handy guest list form - with space to check if I've sent the invite, save-the-date, and thank you, also has space for how many adults and children have RSVP'd for each person/family. I just love the ease of use that comes with this binder! If you are a bride just starting the planning process, you will not regret this purchase!

After a trip to the wedding section of Barnes and Noble, I found myself a bit confused as to which wedding planner to get. They all were very similar. I ended up picking this one because it was a binder, which would allow me to add in my own things and had dividers with pockets. I also liked that it had a three hole punch included. I also liked that it had budget checklists AND advice on each item needed. For example: for the flower girl basket- it described the differences between them and then range of prices they run so when I went out looking I would know that an $100 flower girl basket was a rip off. Anyway, this planner has been awesome!

I didn't actually buy this on Amazon, but in a bookstore at the mall (for a lot more than what amazon is charging, I'm an idiot for not checking here first), ah,I digress. This planner is very helpful. It goes over all aspects of wedding planning and I love the 3 ring binder idea. I can add my own pages to it so that when I go to dress shop or to talk to the photographer I have all of the stuff I need. My favorite part about this book is the break down of every little thing. Each section has a huge list of questions to ask each vendor.

You can add all of the vendors from each section that you have talked to, so that when you decide who to go with you can compare them side by side and see who includes what in the price. It's very useful and I highly recomend it.

I have purchased four different wedding planners and miscellaneous wedding planning books over the last year and this is one worth buying. All the wedding related books I have purchased have some helpful things and some not so helpful things but this one I have not found a page in it that has not been helpful. The book breaks the planning process down into ten easy steps to simplify the planning process. This book also has a handful of different questionnaires for you and your fiancée to take.

The wedding vision questionnaire helps you better understand each other's "dream" wedding and then helps you to make that into "our dream wedding". It also includes questionnaires for choosing a ceremony site, reception site, supplier questionnaires and many worksheets to help you plan your big day. As you will see if you look at reviews of the other event planning books by this author she knows what she is talking about when it comings to planning a corporate party or a wedding. I would highly recommend this book to anyone planning a wedding who would like to not go insane in the process.

Great for overall planning, not just saving money,

I just got engaged a few months ago, and another bride-to-be recommended this book. I've already found it to be extremely helpful in my planning, as the book thoroughly reviews your options for various aspects of the wedding such as bride/bridesmaids dresses, invitations, photography, etc. I particularly liked the lists of suggested questions for vendors--when I emailed one photographer with some of the questions in the book, he wrote back and said "you couldn't have asked better questions if I had given them to you myself!" I've actually found the book to be less helpful in the area of saving money.

This might be partly due to the fact that we're having a pretty small wedding--we only expect about 40 guests to attend, and we're not having a bridal party. Another minor negative is that when I tried some of the websites in the book, the URLs were no longer valid; although they talked about use of the internet in planning quite a bit, I wish they had addressed this area even more, especially use of email to get information from potential vendors. Overall, however, this is a great book that you definitely will use frequently in your planning--I find myself referring to my copy again and again. View detail in Amazon
