It is always nice to get recognised by the wedding press, whether that is in print or on one of the popular wedding blogs. This month saw a number of my images being used by Your Merseyside Wedding magazine.

The May/June issue of the magazine is a wedding photography special edition, so it was especially nice to be asked to use my images this month.

In only a few short weeks the lovely Nina and Keith will be having their Anglo-Indian wedding celebrations in the gardens of Keith’s parents house in beautiful North Wales. It’s going to be a riot of colour and an opportunity for me to photograph my first Hindu wedding ceremony. I’m looking forward to it massively, but in advance of that, oh so special day, we took advantage of the Bank Holiday weekend for the happy to couple to spend the weekend in the lovely Welsh countryside and nip over to Chester for an early evening e-session.

After a few celebratory cocktails at the champagne bar in Michael Caines’ restaurant at the Abode Hotel, we spent a packed couple of hours wondering the back-streets and the Rows of Chester. My e-sessions are a chance for me to spend some quality time with my couples, getting to know them a little better and making them at ease in front of my camera. Unless you’re a model or a celebrity it is rare for most people to be photographed by a professional on a regular basis, so it is only logical that wedding clients should benefit from their time with me.

As you can see, from just these images, Nina and Keith were soon into the groove of being photographed by me.

The wedding industry is a great industry to be involved in, especially when you make great contacts at clients weddings or even shoots done for fun. Back in July last year I took part in a bridal dress shoot at the Styal Lodge wedding venue. The bridal makeup artist involved that day was the lovely Sonara Parker. Sonara had got in touch, after the Love Bridal shoot, to ask if I would like to be involved in a future shoot. Of course I jumped at the chance, but with wedding season being in full swing we knew if would be something that might have to wait a while.

Fast forward to March 2013 and Sonara was back in contact with an idea for a shoot. This time she had been working her little black book of contacts and had organised a fantastic location, Eaves Hall near Clitheroe and a whole set of couture wedding dresses from Becketts Bride; including dresses from Vera Wang and Monique Lhuillier.

The shoot was on and with help from Laurel Weddings, for bridal bouquets, and Julia David for the bridal headpieces we had everything we needed. We even had stylists in place too to help ensure that everything worked together perfectly.

The staff at Eaves Hall were incredibly helpful and gave us the full run of what is a wonderful exclusive wedding venue. It’s a location every bride would instantly fall in love with and a perfect mix of beautiful architecture, open bright rooms and contemporary interior design. A perfect location for a bridal shoot with the dresses we had for the day. Our group of models were all sourced from contacts that Sonara had and so that we can show how great dresses and fashion styled wedding photography work to make every bride look fantastic none of them had any modelling experience. I’m sure that you can see from the photographs that they all done wonderfully.

The promotion provided a complimentary couples photo session and desktop print worth a total of £150. Sonara was one of the those who get in touch to receive a voucher and take advantage of the promotion.

So last weekend I made my way up the coast to Blackpool and spent a couple of hours in the company of Sonara and her partner Allan. Despite the somewhat wintry conditions we managed to dodge the rain and they were both great sports in working with me to create my signature couples shots.

Whilst I’m working on the rest of the images to show to both of them, I thought I’d release a sneaky one for everyone to enjoy.

Actors headshots are especially important at the beginning of a new actors career. Loren is presently studying at a college in Manchester and approached me to commission me for a new set of headshots for her portfolio.

It was lovely to work with Loren and help her create a varied set of headshots, even some that were far from serious, and help set her career off on a great footing.
