Last Friday we had a quick pre-shoot over at Chrch Farm in Astwick and mercifully we even had some sunshine as well.

Looking forward to Sarah & Lee’s big day at Hitchin Priory.

Afternoon tea will be taking place in Hatfield House and in the evening there will be a ceilidh which are always great fun. I met up with Simon & Devora at the house last week to catch up with the details for the day and we also took the opportunity for a pre-wedding shoot around the grounds despite the cold.

From the shoot Devora and Simon have opted for my guest signing book instead of the reception print alternative. The book is A4 in size and will have fifteen photographs from the shoot with blank pages alongside each photograph for guests to sign and write their own personal messages for the couple. I feel sure that June must arrive with warmer days and I am looking forward to a lively wedding  with lots of variety and some great photographic opportunities for Devora and Simon to look back on.

Earlier in the week they were worried that they would have to find an alternative venue due to the land soaked grounds with ducks swimming in the puddles on their planned site! However everyone mucked in and I have to say I have never seen a more impressive site than the finished marquee, a truly gargantuan effort by one and all.

The ceremony was held in St Marys Church in the centre of Welwyn village.

I do this for every couple that I book as it is a chance to get to know each other better, practice a few of the more “posed” type of shots and discuss the wedding day in more detail. Once Rebecca & Chris have chosen their favourite photograph from the session I get it printed in a large mount surround and bring it along to the wedding reception for guests to sign.

As an alternative option this year I am also offering a hardback A4 signing book which consists of up to fifteen photographs from the shoot alongside blank facing pages for guests to sign and write messages on.

David and his party were in full Scottish regalia which made for some great photographs in the Library.

Meanwhile little flower girl for the day Darcy was getting excited up in the stunning bridal suite that is a feature at Gosfield Hall. Emma’s mum gave her daughter away and she was reluctant to have her photograph taken throughout the day.

However I took the opportunity to arrange a photograph of her with the bridesmaids in the ante room whilst Emma was being briefed by the registrar in the bridal suite. It was very cramped in there but I think it is a lovely photograph.

Emma looked absolutely stunning and we quickly managed to get a few more photographs in after the registrar had departed and the 2pm ceremony time rapidly approached.

After the ceremony the dreaded rain was threatening as we headed outside for the confetti so the formal photographs were taken indoors.

Here is a shot from a stunning wedding here last August

I have been using the iPad since it was first released and I love it !
It is a great way to display and show photographs as well as being so useful for all the other things that you might normally do on a desktop or laptop computer.

However there has always been one drawback when browsing the web and that is the lack of “macromedia flash” support. What that means is that any sites built using this technology ( which is basically slideshow type displays ) cannot be viewed on an iPad.

My main website and parts of the menu on this blog use this technology so I decided to build an “iPad friendly” site. Anyone who accesses my main site using an iPad gets re-directed to there automatically, but here is a link if you are interested in taking a look.
