Fort Lauderdale, Florida

From the Planner: Maria and Kevin live in Chicago and wanted a Florida Beach Wedding in the Spring. They found us online and we began working together. Maria’s family is Ecuadorean and Kevin’s family is Phillipino and Irish. The couple met at Trinity College and we incorporated their college into the custom cookie favors featuring the mascot for Trinity. We incorporated their mult-cultural backgrounds several ways. The rehearsal dinner was at the rooftop terrace of an Irish Pub overlooking Ft. Lauderdale Beach. The welcome bags came from the Phillipines and were brought over by groom’s grandmother. The mother of the bride made home made Ecuadorean candies that were hand-passed at the reception. We had a bilinugual MC/DJ and played a huge variety of music. In addition Maria’s mom made her very traditional veil. The vintage Ft. Lauderdale Sign in the background of the photos added to the vintage yet urban feel. The beach was adorned with drangwood trees dripping in crystals. The centerpieces were a mix of high and low and blinged out table name frames noted all of the beaches that they have travelled to as a couple. ~Simply Significant Events and Occasions

Palm Springs, California

What happens when two LA celebrities get married? They have an amazing private soiree in Palm Springs with fabulous modern details, and a rockin’ dance party. Allyson and Andrew had their wedding on Halloween night, and incorporated that theme into their overall decor – from the table names to the food. I absolutely love how artistic the couple shots are as well. It must have been a remarkable day! Thanks to KLK PHOTOGRAPHY!

Moorpark, California

A few things I loved at the Alfred Angelo Fall/Winter 2012 show:

Bright Bridesmaid Dresses: We’ve been seeing a lot of muted and neutral hues for bridesmaids over the past few seasons, so it was refreshing to see jolts of tropical blue, bright pink, and even vibrant orange used for ‘maids. Perfect for those summer beach weddings.

Touches of Black: Alfred Angelo designer Michael Shettel wasn’t shy about using black in his new collection – adding an edgy touch to several dresses. We particularly liked the sheer three-quarter sleeve jacket on this gown. So unique and a great opportunity for a bride to switch up her look.

Sequins! We’ve seen ‘em on bridal gowns, and now they’ve entered the world of bridesmaids! How the LBD shown above, right for a New Year’s Eve wedding bridesmaid dress? It’s sexy and sparkly, but still understated and chic.

Langley, British Columbia, Canada

From the Photographer: “It was a sunny November day in Langley, BC for Taylar and Neal on their wedding day. It was so amazing to be able to capture their day and the true love they have for each other. “

A lot of the details were handmade, including the paper bouquets and boutonniere, which the bride made from old sheet music. Their ceremony and reception took place in a historic community hall that was built in 1909. It was truly an intimate and romantic affair!

A peplum is a ruffled overskirt that provides a unique silhouette to a gown – and they were in abundance this season. We saw them in all shapes, sizes, and fabrications, so we wanted to know if you’re a fan of the whole trend and if so, if you prefer your peplum to be big, small, or something in between.

New York, New York

This wedding is a perfect mix of “hipster” and classic. The couple got married in the Housing Works Bookstore Café in New York. The venue had enough decor alone, that the simple details were perfect! I love that JBM wedding photography took shots of the bride in a bright orange chair in the middle of a NYC side street. Such a fabulous photo I know she’ll have, and love, forever!

From the photographer: “Sean and Kate are one of those couples who have been together forever and the world just wouldn’t seem right if they weren’t. That’s what made their wedding day so special. It was a very personal occasion and I was privileged to shoot it for them.”

This morning, we’re talking lace – the most feminine and romantic of fabrications. At bridal market this season, we saw designers use lace in entirely new and unique ways. So now we’re wondering which of these new lace styles are you most psyched about?

Clinton, Tennessee

From the Photographer: Sit back and enjoy this wedding with a glass of sweet iced tea and a warm slice of peach cobbler! Jessica and Sean’s southern wedding was March 31, 2012, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church — the cutest little white country chapel in Tennessee (built in 1894) that you have ever seen! And their wedding reception was at the Museum of Appalachia. Their wedding included lots of personalized and sentimental touches, including hand made bridesmaids dresses in vintage patterns, a quilt-square guestbook, tea-stained place cards from etsy, wood burn signs hand made by the groom, and antique china the couple collected at rummage sales and antique stores over the course of their engagement. The couple even found a plate from the same pattern the groom’s grandmother had – and that plate was for his mother on their wedding day. The groom & groomsmen had personalized cufflinks with their initials on them, and the bride also wrapped her bouquet with a lace doily her great-grandmother hand made. After dashing out of the little white country church, the couple drove off in an antique 1960′s Corvette Convertible. Their wedding cake was made by a friend, Charlotte Click, who was also the mother of one of the bridesmaids, who the bride had known most of her life. ~JoPhoto
