KMK Fine Jewellery in Shropshire is helping raise money for Hope House Children's Hospice

Snowflakes are one of natures most fragile creations and come in all shapes and sizes; however what unites them all is that each snowflake is unique, special and very much cherished.

At both Hope House and Ty Gobaith Hospices there is a special room called the Snowflake Suite. It is a refrigerated bedroom used by families after their child has passed away. At the Pavilion at Lane End we have only 5 summer Saturdays available for weddings in 2010. As a late booking promotion we offer 10% discount on the wedding package of your choice when you book one of the last available Saturdays between June and August 2010.

The Pavilion is set in 26 acres of the beautiful Chilterns countryside in Buckinghamshire. The venue is licensed for ceremonies in the main Pavilion room or outside in the Garden Gazebo, both overlooking the picturesque grounds. The venue can accommodate 130 guests for the main wedding breakfast and up to 180 guests during the evening reception.

WEDDING MAKE UP TIPS from Paul Herrington and Tina Brocklebank Make-up artist

Tina Brocklebank met with Paul Herrington in August 2009 - Bobbi Brown's head of artistry in the UK - and had a masterclass with him - she picked up lots of new tips and wants to share them with you to help with your Wedding Make-Up.

Use the Bobbi Brown Oil cleanser - use only 1 pump as it removes any waterproof mascara too.

Keep the Bobbi Brown Soothing face tonic in the fridge - it is very refreshing and smells beautiful.

Bobbi Brown Intensive skincare supplement – this works 7 layers down and has instant results! Apply 2-3 drops morning and night and say hello to radiance. Great for Brides on the lead up to their big day.

Bobbi Brown vitamin enriched face base – use this as a primer and moisturizer, it is oil free, suitable for all skin types, except for very dry. Warm in fingertips first, and apply only a small amount, you do not want any oil on the surface of the skin as the make-up will just slide off!

Bobbi Brown hydrating eye-cream – smooth this under the eye to prep under the eye area and prevent creasing, it ensures smooth application of concealer and foundation.

Bobbi Brown “Extra” range is for extra dry skin/mature skin.

Concealer – the B.B concealers and foundations come in same shades so it is easy to pick out and choose. Kim Cattrall is a fan. Apply concealer first under the eye area using the concealer brush, apply in the deepest part of the eye area underneath, using one shade lighter than your foundation, the same shade if you are trying to cover a blemish.

Use the foundation stick on red/pink areas of the face, usually the centre. You can use a dampened latex wedge sponge/fingers or for heavier coverage, a foundation brush. For liquid, use fingers/sponge.

Don’t powder the cheeks until last “lose the shine but keep the glow”.

Blusher and lips – these are the most important products, the rest of the face comes together after applying these 2. Tap the cheeks to indicate what colour you should go for.

Blush – Use cream on the apples of the cheeks, using fingers and blush brush up to hairline, use cream pot rouge on lips too if required.

For honeymoons the essentials are : foundation, pot rouge, gloss, tinted moisturizer.

Shimmer bricks – give a lovely sheen, use high on the cheekbone. Can be used as eyeshadow too.

Nude make-up lip colour – Sandwash pink – amazing on everyone.

The Bone cream eyeshadow stays on forever, use finger to apply up to brow.

Using eyeshadow brush, use a mid-tone shade, (maple) on the lid and into the crease and slightly above, blend.

To give depth, use Chino eyeshadow in the socket – mistake proof.

Caviar (shadow) – can be used dry on lash-line.

To apply on the lash line – mark the point where you want to go at the end, and start from the inside corner and using the fine eyeliner brush, sweep across the lash-line, ending at the point where you have marked. This technique “pops” the eye.

Mascara – Wiggle the wand to the base, this ensures there will be no clumps.

If you want to change your make-up look quickly, you don’t have to remove all your make-up, take off your lipstick and use a deeper lip/metallic lip. Great tip for moving your wedding make up from day to evening.

Bobbi Brown – Crystal gloss is great as it has no tackiness and stays on for a long time.

Weddings In launched on 29th Jan 2008 - so today is our first Birthday!

Weddings In has grown in popularity since its launch and now we are finding that most of the suppliers who joined us a year ago are renewing their listing for another year - proof that Weddings In really does generate traffic to wedding suppliers’ websites and therefore is instrumental in providing enquires for wedding suppliers nationwide.

We have not raised our prices for 2009 – maintaining that we want to offer a reasonable priced service – and to be frank the most affordable advertising around. At £29 a year – just 08p a day – your listing is up for a year. You can pay upwards of £200 for a small advert in your local newspaper and that only goes in one issue.

The section we have for people getting married - our online wedding planning tools have also proved popular with sign ups which are increasing month on month - which demonstrates that people getting married DO find our websites and will be looking for suppliers in their area.

Overall it has been a great year for Weddings In and we wish all our suppliers and visitors to the sites a great 2009!

Stag and Hen Parties

Hi everyone!

Excuse me for being rather British for a second - the rain seems to have gone for now and the heat is rising! Bring on SUMMER!

Weddings In has had a rather exciting day - we have just launched a Stag and Hen Parties category across all 20 Weddings In sites due to high demand for these types of suppliers.

Since launching in Jan 2008 we have had a few emails a week from Brides to be asking if we know of any good Stag and Hen Party suppliers - well the answer until today was not really - however due to the evident demand for these types of suppliers - we have made a new category and encourage all companies involved in Stag / Hen dos to get their listing up and live ASAP!

Our first Hen do supplier has joined already - Ladies Nights House Parties
we wish them all the best of luck!

On top of this - today we have had 6 suppliers sign up across our portfolio which is great news for us - Weddings In seems to be gaining pace and visibility as THE place to be listed as a wedding supplier. This happened for the Shropshire site many years ago (it was run by others before we took it over and re-designed and re-launched in Jan 2008) but the other 19 odd Weddings In sites are really starting to blossom in their own way - which is so wonderful.

Wiccan Weddings

Well last weekend we went to our first Wiccan Wedding in Wales - in a field - and it was GREAT!

The ceremony was all explained to us before they started and during it - it felt really natural and spiritual! I even had a part to play in the ceremony - I was one of the two holders of the broom! Yes - they jump over a broom towards the end of the ceremony to signify that they can deal with any issues they will face in their life together.

The ceremony was in a field by a river - just gorgeous and the rain held off until after the ceremony and we all camped in the field that night and it stayed dry!

All in all - this was my first ever experience of a Wiccan Wedding but I really think they are the way forward! Due to how the ceremony is done (outside mainly) it also fits the green wedding theme that is a hot topic these days.

We plan to add a Wiccan Handfasting (Wedding) page as well as a green wedding page and while we are at it probably a pink wedding (civil partnerships) page too! so watch this space!

Hi from Weddings In

We thought it time to get a blog up and running!

Weddings In continues to gain popularity with Wedding suppliers and people about to tie the knot. We have had about 10 suppliers join us in the last few weeks and the hits from people using the websites as a wedding planning resource keep increasing.

We are always expanding the websites by adding new features. The Subscribers section will soon be launched - I will blog again once this is done! This is where Brides, Grooms, Mother of the Brides and so on can Login to their own area of the website to help plan and organise their Wedding using our online Wedding Planning tools (Guest List, Supplier Address book and To Do List) and also use our printable PDFs (Budget Checklist, Duties Information, Table Planner any many more).

Yesterday we added a feature to the Suppliers login page - where they can see how many click throughs (hits) their website link, email link and (if they have one) their banner have been clicked! This is great for suppliers to see that being on Weddings In is helping them get traffic to their website and email enquires and great for us to see that our websites DO work and people do visit them.
