Weddings In - 1 year old today!

Weddings In launched on 29th Jan 2008 - so today is our first Birthday!

Weddings In has grown in popularity since its launch and now we are finding that most of the suppliers who joined us a year ago are renewing their listing for another year - proof that Weddings In really does generate traffic to wedding suppliers’ websites and therefore is instrumental in providing enquires for wedding suppliers nationwide.

We have not raised our prices for 2009 – maintaining that we want to offer a reasonable priced service – and to be frank the most affordable advertising around. At £29 a year – just 08p a day – your listing is up for a year. You can pay upwards of £200 for a small advert in your local newspaper and that only goes in one issue.

The section we have for people getting married - our online wedding planning tools have also proved popular with sign ups which are increasing month on month - which demonstrates that people getting married DO find our websites and will be looking for suppliers in their area.

Overall it has been a great year for Weddings In and we wish all our suppliers and visitors to the sites a great 2009!

Weddings In are always trying to think of new ways to help people planning a Wedding

We have just launched our FREE (everyone's favourite price) Wedding Planning Tools - you can sign up to use these here: http://www.weddingsingreatbritain.co.uk/index.php?page=signup

These Wedding Planning Tools are for Brides, Grooms, Mother of the Brides and any one involved in planning a Wedding.

Once you have signed up you get your own Login area on the site filed with features to help plan a Wedding.

The Wedding Planning Tools include:

Guest List System
Where you can input all the invite details for your guests - even detailing if they have special dietary requirements and if you received a gift from them and sent a thank you note. You can even upload a document (Word, Excel etc) that you have already done to keep track of your guest list - but uploading it to Weddings In Wedding Planning Tools means you can access it from anywhere at any time - if you went to your Mum's and had forgotten your list but needed to discuss it with her - no worries - just logon to Weddings In and download your file there and then!

Supplier Address Book
Add suppliers to your address book from our site or enter details of others you are using - keeping them all safe in once place so that you can access from any where with an internet connection! Never lose important wedding supplier details again

To Do List
Add tasks to your To Do List - enter a due date and keep track of what needs to be done by when leading up to your Big Day

Printable PDFs
These can be printed off and filled in to help get your organised. The documents include a Budget Checklist, Duties Information, Table Planner and many more

But we won't tell you EVERYTHING you can do in the Wedding Planning Tools area - as we want you to go and have a look yourself!

Stag and Hen Parties

Hi everyone!

Excuse me for being rather British for a second - the rain seems to have gone for now and the heat is rising! Bring on SUMMER!

Weddings In has had a rather exciting day - we have just launched a Stag and Hen Parties category across all 20 Weddings In sites due to high demand for these types of suppliers.

Since launching in Jan 2008 we have had a few emails a week from Brides to be asking if we know of any good Stag and Hen Party suppliers - well the answer until today was not really - however due to the evident demand for these types of suppliers - we have made a new category and encourage all companies involved in Stag / Hen dos to get their listing up and live ASAP!

Our first Hen do supplier has joined already - Ladies Nights House Parties
we wish them all the best of luck!

On top of this - today we have had 6 suppliers sign up across our portfolio which is great news for us - Weddings In seems to be gaining pace and visibility as THE place to be listed as a wedding supplier. This happened for the Shropshire site many years ago (it was run by others before we took it over and re-designed and re-launched in Jan 2008) but the other 19 odd Weddings In sites are really starting to blossom in their own way - which is so wonderful.

Weddings In

Wiccan Weddings

Well last weekend we went to our first Wiccan Wedding in Wales - in a field - and it was GREAT!

The ceremony was all explained to us before they started and during it - it felt really natural and spiritual! I even had a part to play in the ceremony - I was one of the two holders of the broom! Yes - they jump over a broom towards the end of the ceremony to signify that they can deal with any issues they will face in their life together.

The ceremony was in a field by a river - just gorgeous and the rain held off until after the ceremony and we all camped in the field that night and it stayed dry!

All in all - this was my first ever experience of a Wiccan Wedding but I really think they are the way forward! Due to how the ceremony is done (outside mainly) it also fits the green wedding theme that is a hot topic these days.

We plan to add a Wiccan Handfasting (Wedding) page as well as a green wedding page and while we are at it probably a pink wedding (civil partnerships) page too! so watch this space!

Hi from Weddings In

We thought it time to get a blog up and running!

Weddings In continues to gain popularity with Wedding suppliers and people about to tie the knot. We have had about 10 suppliers join us in the last few weeks and the hits from people using the websites as a wedding planning resource keep increasing.

We are always expanding the websites by adding new features. The Subscribers section will soon be launched - I will blog again once this is done! This is where Brides, Grooms, Mother of the Brides and so on can Login to their own area of the website to help plan and organise their Wedding using our online Wedding Planning tools (Guest List, Supplier Address book and To Do List) and also use our printable PDFs (Budget Checklist, Duties Information, Table Planner any many more).

Yesterday we added a feature to the Suppliers login page - where they can see how many click throughs (hits) their website link, email link and (if they have one) their banner have been clicked! This is great for suppliers to see that being on Weddings In is helping them get traffic to their website and email enquires and great for us to see that our websites DO work and people do visit them.
