DAY 1 (Fri.): Arrive in Florence. Check into a Boutique B&B in the city center. Free afternoon/evening in Florence to relax and dine in one of the city’s great restaurants*, (We will meet you in the afternoon to greet you with an aperitif and provide

suggestions for dinner and anything else you may need.)

* Transfers to and from airport and meals on the first day are not

included in the package since arrival times will vary.

DAY 2 (Sat.): After breakfast, take a guided walking tour through the historic city center of Florence. Our drivers will take you to the villa in the early afternoon where you’ll be able to relax and settle in. A traditional Tuscan welcome dinner at the villa will be prepared by your personal chef.

DAY 3 (Sun.): Experience the magic of a picturesque hilltop town that seems untouched by the passing of time. Enjoy lunch in one of our favorite restaurants. Guided visit to one

of the country’s best-known wineries. Originally castles and

historic grandeur while keeping pace with modernity. See where some of Italy’s most famous labels come from. Taste for yourselves why these wines are considered among the best in the world. Dinner back at the villa will be a hands-on pizza night, join the pizzaiolo to create your own favorite.

DAY 4 (Mon.): Free morning to rest or explore on your own. Afternoon with the artisans. You’ll go into the workshop and see behind the scenes how world-famous Italian handicrafts are made. Possible visits include: ceramics, gold or silver

jewelry, textiles, leather goods, hand-blown glass and more… You will also stop in a charming historic town in Chianti and have lunch in one of our favorite restaurants.

DAY 5 (Tues.): Visit another famous local wine estate. Tour the vineyards and the cellars. Learn how great wine is

produced – a delicate balance between tradition and

technology. The sommelier will introduce you to some of the finest Tuscan wines to accompany the offering of delicious local specialties: cheeses, cured meats and the famous crostini (savory tartlets). Then take a stroll through a famous old fortress town where you’ll have some free time to

explore, browse the charming artisan shops, or just unwind and take in the beauty while you sit in a piazza sipping an espresso. Dinner at/near the villa.

DAY 6 (Wed.): A total culinary experience awaits you! Start

in town with a professional chef to pick up fresh ingredients at the local market. Late afternoon return to the villa to relax and enjoy a light

dinner “at home”.

DAY 7 (Thurs.): Today you decide what you do*: Indulge

yourself at a luxurious thermal Spa for a rejuvenating escape. State of the art facilities and treatments will ensure an

incredible experience of total relaxation and well-being. The Day-Spa package includes access to the thermal pool, several body treatments and a delicious lunch at the Spa’s excellent

restaurant. If you prefer, take a guided bike tour in one of the beautiful Tuscan Parkland Preserves. Discover the outstanding natural beauty of this region. A lunch stop is included.

Everyone will meet back at the house in time to take a rest and get ready for dinner at a local restaurant.

Potatoes ‘s peels in batter fried
Ingredients: potato skins, oil for frying
150 grams of flour, 3 egg whites, 1 teaspoon
baking powder, salt.

Wash the potatoes, scratched with a brush, dry
and remove the peel, leaving a little 'under the potato skin.
To prepare the batter, sieve the flour,
yeast and collect them in a bowl. Add little by little the
egg whites, then the water necessary to obtain a creamy
and smooth, stir well and let rest for half an hour,
then season with salt. Heat plenty of oil in a frying pan
for frying, potato skins and fold into the batter, drip
and, a few at a time, fry for 5 minutes or until
will be evenly browned. Drain, mash of
a sheet of absorbent paper and serve hot on a plate

today we want to share with you delicious recipes, using the leftovers as creatively as possibly

Cookies with trimmings

Ingredients: 50 grams of apple peel, 100 grams of seed flour

Integral (50 grams of flour and 50 grams of oatmeal), 100 grams

of oatmeal, 30 grams of raisins, pine nuts 30 grams, 50grams of

brown sugar, 1 egg, oil, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, milk, salt

The apple peel should be quite soft and aromatic, with a little chopped meat attacked. In a bowl mix the flour with the flakes, sugar, raisins soaked in luke warm water for 20 minutes and drained, pine nuts, baking powder, 1 pinch of salt and the chopped skins of apples.Add the beaten egg and mix. Season the mixture with a tablespoon of olive oil and add the

enough milk to make creamy. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper small misshapen spoonfuls of dough. Put the pan in the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 15 minutes.

Be careful not to burn the cookies. Lift the pan and let cool.

Christmas recipes !

Panettone Recipe

Christmas is not Christmas without the Panettone, the typical Italian sweet bread…….
Serves 10-12
Ingredients

· 1 package active dry yeast

· 1 cup warm water

· 2 medium eggs

· 1/2 cup plain yogurt

· 1/4 cup sugar

· 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

· 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest

· 1/4 teaspoon salt

· 4 cups all-purpose flour

· 1/4 cup raisins

· 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar

· 1 tablespoon melted butter

In a large bowl, combine the yeast, water and sugar. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes, or until the mixture becomes foamy. Add the eggs, yogurt, vanilla extract, salt and lemon zest. Mix well!
Then stir in the flour a 1/2 cup scoop at a time until the dough shapes into a manageable ball. Plop it onto a lightly floured surface and begin kneading the dough for about 5 to 10 minutes (if necessary, add more flour until you can easily mold the dough and it's not sticky - this could take 4 or 5 cups of flour, so be patient!)
Place dough in a large, lightly pan-sprayed bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. (My grandmother always used a blanket to cover and wrap the entire bowl for warmth)
While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and prep a round 8-inch cake pan with non-stick spray.
In a smaller bowl, toss the raisins with confectioners' sugar.
Punch down your dough ball in bowl, and then transfer it to a flat, floured surface - then kneed in the fruit!
Form the dough into a ball, place in prepared cake pan, cover loosely with a towel, and allow it to rise for about 25-30 minutes. (Don't worry, it's normal for the dough to rise above the sides!) Brush the top of the panettone with melted butter, then bake for 45 minutes, or until it is a golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Voila! You're ready to serve this sweet treat to all your family and friends!
**Note...if you don't like raisins, leave them out! Then when your cake is finished, dust it with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate - both traditional and TASTY alternatives to this classic panettone recipe!

Il Pandoro Veronese -- Verona's Pandoro

Pandoro symbolizes Christmas like few other cakes: It even looks Christmassy, a craggy mountain topped with snow-white confectioners sugar. It's difficult to make, and therefore most Italians prefer to buy commercially produced Pandoro from their local baker or supermarket, but if you are an accomplished baker making it at home will be quite rewarding. You'll need a high-sided mold -- the molds used in Verona are about 10 inches (25 cm) high, 8 inches (20 cm) across at the top, tapering, and star-shaped in cross section, usually with eight points. If you cannot find a Pandoro mold a similarly tapering cylindrical mold will have to do. In terms of ingredients, to make a Pandoro for 6 you'll need:

· 3 cups (300 g) flour

· 8 ounces (200 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature

· 2/3 cup (120 g) sugar

· 2/3 ounce (20 g) active baker's yeast of the kind one buys in the dairy section of the supermarket

· 1/2 cup cream

· The grated zest of an organically grown lemon

· 5 egg yolks

· 1 whole egg

· 1/3 cup (30 g) confectioners sugar

· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

· Flour for your work surface

· Butter and flour for the mold

Crumble the yeast into a bowl and combine it with 1 tablespoon of sugar, an egg yolk, 1/3 cup of flour, and sufficient water to make a soft loaf. Cover the bowl and let the loaf rise, in a warm place, for 2 hours.

Sift half the remaining flour onto your work surface and combine it with half the sugar, then work in the starter loaf, 3 yolks, and 3 tablespoons of the butter. Knead well, shape the dough into a ball. Lightly flower the bowl, set the dough in it to rise, and cover it with the cloth.

After another 2 hours combine the remaining flour and sugar on your work surface and work it into the dough, together with the whole egg and the yolk. Knead the dough well, until it is homogenous, put it in a floured bowl and cover it with a cloth, and let it rise for another 2 hours.

Flour your work surface and return the dough to it, add the lemon zest and the vanilla extract, and then knead in the cream, a little at a time, so it is absorbed well.

Spread the dough out on your work surface and shape it into a rectangle using your rolling pin. Cut the remaining butter into pits and distribute them over the center of the sheet. Fold the sheet in thirds, and reroll it out. Let it rest another half hour, and repeat the operation. Do this once more.

Butter and flour the mold, turn it upside down, and rap it to remove excess flour. Shape the dough into a ball and put it in the mold; it should fill the mold about half-full. Cover the mold with a cloth and put it into a warm place to rise until the dough reaches the top of the mold (about 20 minutes).

While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 400 f (200 C). Bake the Pandoro for a half hour, then reduce the heat to 360 F (180 C) and bake for a half hour more. Unmold the Pandoro immediately, and cool it on a rack. Before serving it, dust it with abundant powdered sugar.

This wedding had us all weeping with joy! Together for 30 years and a beautiful daughter, the absolutely lovely Marilyn & Smith from the UK, decided it was time to tie the knot. They chose Tuscany as the spot to do say their 'I do's', and we were extremely lucky to be a part of this wonderful day. The romantic tear-inducing ceremony was held in a 800 year old hill-top church built of the stone taken from Etruscan necropolis found in the area. Absolutely stunning location for your nuptials. The reception followed at our favorite rustic farmhouse in the Florence countryside where the bride and groom and all the guests were staying for one relaxing week. It was a fabulous family-filled celebration with delicious Tuscan food, music, dancing, and lots of love in the air. Here's a few snapshots of the day.

Hope you have all are having wonderful summer! We have been busy busy busy and have had to take a longer than expected break from the blog, but we will be back to show you what we have been up to very soon. In the meantime we quickly wanted to share with you a fun service we offer for weddings and events here in Tuscany. The Singing Waiters!

During the course of the evening they stylishly reveal their operatic and musical theatre vocal talents to an unsuspecting audience culminating in a stunning and memorable finale, a la 'The Three Tenors'.

The three tenors dress up as waiters and then burst into song during the dinner. We can assure you, the guests will remember your wedding for years to come!

After initiating thunderous applause...then promptly returns to his duties. A short time later, a competitive second waiter decides to join the stage resulting in a singing duel that includes anything from Pavarotti to Dean Martin or Lloyd Webber to Puccini.

But the real fun is only just beginning. To the further surprise of the audience...a third waiter "gate crashes," and the performance concludes a la "The Three Tenors."

Kell & Stephanie are two American lovebirds who just love all things Tuscan and chose to have their rustic glam wedding at a pink villa set in the Florence countryside dripping in luxury. Gorgeous, sophisticated, gasp-inducing romantic, this wedding was truly a Tuscan fairy tale. From the breathtaking backdrop, to Stephanie's stunning gown, handsome groom, bountiful white ranunculales flowers, this wedding was just oozing with Tuscan charm. Add the dramatic and elegant reception on the frescoed terrace with breathtaking views over the villa's olive grove, and you have a perfectly dreamy, perfectly stunning wedding. It was such a memorable event and such a delightful start to our wedding season.
