You can choose to use butterflies as subtle additions to the reception or even as a complete wedding theme. Butterflies add an especially dainty touch to outdoor, spring weddings. ‘Green weddings’ are an increasing trend for couples who want to walk down the aisle in eco-friendly style.  Many vendors are expanding their services to accommodate the eco-wedding, from organic catering to hemp-blend wedding gowns, even to recycled wedding bands, the options are endless.  The best part? The green bride doesn’t need to make sacrifices to make her wedding more eco-friendly!

The WeddingWire staff is also feeling the green spirit! We just started the WeddingWire Wellness program here at the office and are working on transforming the office to make it more earth conscious. We’re ditching the disposables and relying on reusable utensils and mugs, turning off lights, and printing double sided.  We even just purchased new large recycling bins and are tracking our ‘green deeds’ as part of an office-wide competition to see who could do the most to help the earth.  Whoever said going green couldn’t be a blast?

Photo booths are quickly becoming a standard at parties and weddings everywhere and our I Do Redo was no exception! We were lucky enough to work with Red Cheese Photo Booth Rentals for our Los Angeles promotion and they were the hit of the party! The wedding guests had so much fun taking photos with friends and family. The best part is, you can take home a memento from the wedding because the photos print right there at the booth! They had a blast meeting Julianne and connecting with wedding professionals and brides in the DC area.

I have seen the above photograph before and always wondered how this aisle runner was made. Did they buy a ton of flower petals and lay them down? Wouldn’t they blow away or be dragged by the brides gown? Well. . .I finally found an answer: petal fabric! Edley Associates Inc sells 3′ square flower petal tiles, or custom 25′ by 3′ aisle runners. The flower petals are attached to a fabric, making them easy to lay down and walk on! They come in a wide variety of colors and styles so you can find the right combination for your wedding day!

I love the idea of a flower aisle runner, especially for an outdoor wedding! There is little need for other decoration as this aisle runner is the center of attention! Be sure when using aisle runners to rope off the center aisle prior to the wedding, meaning guests will need to be seated via the outside aisles.

You don’t have to use this just for aisle runners. Be creative with uses, such as decoration for the cake table. They also have flower petal ribbon available as an alternate option. This can be used to rope off the aisle before the start of the wedding, to decorate chairs, or many other uses!

What uses could you find for this fabric?

While it’s great to have a personal countdown and be able to look at pictures of dresses within Facebook, the power of Facebook truly lies in being able to communicate with your social network and give your friends and family a vantage point into your wedding planning.  We all know that planning a wedding is no simple task, and being able to share the experiences (positive and negative) with your friends and family keeps them informed, involved, and engaged (no pun intended).
