Tickets start at just $36, and the prizes are pretty amazing! The Grand prize is $10,000; the second prize of a video camera or iPod Nano. The beauty of the raffle is that the prize has been sponsored by a generous friend, which means that all funds from ticket sales go to support Chabad on Campus's "accessible and meaningful" programs for collegiates and young adults. I am a deeply indebted student and can't afford frivolous raffles...so normally the email would have ended up in the trash...however, you were asking me to support wash u. chabad, which is a different matter all together. […]

You have been warm and welcoming to everyone, truly concerned with the well-being of all the jewish members of the community, and you (and thus chabad) have created a sense of Jewish community, which here at the med school simply doesn't exist otherwise. I know that if I am ever without a home on a holiday, your door is open and I will be welcomed as is - no questions asked, no pressure. That means a lot to me, and I sincerely thank you for it.

So thank you - for being the Jewish heart of our community - I will gladly support our chabad chapter. You are doing a wonderful job.

The Chabad on Campus Raffle features a grand prize of $10,000 along with a second prize of a video camera or iPod Nano. Tickets are only $36 each making it a pretty good return for the winner. Semester end, 2008

Congratulations and Mazal Tov to the graduating class of 2008!

We are excited to celebrate this important milestone with you! As in previous years, we expect to attend a number of individual school recognition ceremonies and the commencement event on Friday morning. During the commencement, we plan to stand under the Ridgley Hall arcade near the entry to Holmes Lounge. Later that day, we will host a special “Graduation Shabbat” event. School Supply Drive!

One of the highlights of the Mayanot Birthright Israel trip is volunteering at an elementary school for recent immigrants to Israel. As they are short on supplies--and Washington U. is finishing the academic year, we are conducting a "Supply Drive" to benefit the HaTikva school in the Yokneam region of Israel.

Please bring any left-over school supplies (pens, folders, markers, notebooks) to Chabad on Campus - Rohr Center for Jewish Life. 7018 Forsyth Blvd (in the entry way).

Amazing Women’s-Only Event

Jewish sages have taught that the eighth day of Passover has a special connection to the final redemption of the Jewish people. The founder of the Chasidic movement, the Baal Shem Tov, developed a custom of celebrating the future redemption with a meal, appropriately called: “Moshiach’s Meal.”

Women are invited to join Chana Novack, in this special meal:
