You’re not a expert so where do you turn? Some people swear by Mac’s and other people won’t touch them with a 20 foot pole!

Is that attitude just fear of change or brand loyalty or is it rooted deeper in user experience or rumor?

Salespeople who you might talk to will surely recommend what they sell, not because they honestly feel that their product is truly superior, but because they want to close the deal!
Frankly, both Pc’s and Mac’s are mostly quality products but I believe that they both have slightly different focuses in terms of the types of targeted purchasers they cater to.

I’ll start with the Pc first. The most dramatic difference in a Pc vs. Mac is the price! Pc’s are very affordable and easy to buy for the masses, I.E. college students, teens, my space junkies, Ect.
They are so much easier to maintain and software prices are much cheaper.

Mac’s are sleeker and look better then most Pc’s and that attracts many people to the Mac’s. People associate design with innovativeness, and that is surely a wise marketing strategy.

Mac’s are somewhat targeted to the professional computer user such as, web designer, graphics pro’s and other guru’s of technology, who swear by the Mac and claim using a Mac increases their productivity.

One of the biggest gripes I hear from Mac users that causes no end of frustration is the excess of interface clutter, and an even more prominent complaint, no wail! Is that Mac’s lack a true maximize button which makes it inconvenient to view pages full screen.

If Apple would add a way for users to maximize windows, one of the major complaints against Mac would be obliterated and I believe sales would soar.

So, if you are easily distracted and like to completely fill the screen with a single window to stay focused, then a Pc is a better fit.

What are major advantages of buying a Mac? Mac’s are designed for high security purposes in mind. They are not constantly being attacked by viruses, spy ware, and adware like a Pc.

That may partially explained the price difference, the old saying “you get what you pay for” comes to mind.

Also Apple excels when it comes to toys and all that popular music downloading that goes on over the worldwide web and is so essential to the younger generation.

Mac’s are more reliable and do not crash nearly as often as a Pc. I believe mostly due to less interference from hackers and malicious programs.

Several things disturb me about Mac’s however, one is the fact that they are so eagerly converting to Pc processors and adapting most other Pc ideas.

Does that say they concede that Pc technology is superior? A claim that they have so vehemently denied.

Or is it an attempt by Apple to try to bring the cost down and revenues up by using Pc programs and converting Mac’s to be able to use windows based programs on a Mac.

Another thing that worries me is that Apple has changed it’s hardware systems 53 times as opposed to under 15 times for Pc. Does that indicate engineering problems? Or perhaps over-engineering?

If you ask a 1000 people, you will probably get a 1000 different answers but the bottom line, Pc’s are more sensible economically for the common everyday user at this time being cheaper to buy, and maintain.

Mac’s are perhaps a good fit for professionals that can justify the added expense and need for better security.

A popular saying in the computer world is “I like Mac, but I use Pc.”

Only the strong survive when the odds are against you, nobody encourages you, and all you seem to do is for naught. You climb a mountain one pull of the rope at a time and sometimes you slip and loose ground, but the dedicated climber starts pulling again and regains the ground he has lost and reaches for the plateau above.

Writing is a discouraging kind of madness, but one I cannot put aside. The success rate of aspiring writers is about as low as imaginable. Yet nothing I've ever done in my life gives me as much satisfaction as seeing my words in print for others to see, comment on, even disagree with!

Such is the life of a "Wordsmith." It's not a glamorous life, not yet anyhow, but it's my life and I enjoy creating articles and stories and constantly trying to improve my craft. Anyone can slop ink on a page and call themselves a "Muse" but cream rises to the top for a reason and you can learn the skills of a writer, but some people are just born with the ability to inspire and inform and entertain and I consider myself one of these lucky few!

Try! And Try Some More!

Nobody ever told me that being a writer would be easy! Being underappreciated, and under-payed just about sums it up. If people truly realized the effort, time, sweat, and dedication it requires to produce fresh, professional content maybe they would understand that writing is like any other profession, and if you want the good stuff you must be willing to pay for it and give the author a byline!

Being recognized for brilliant articles is how we market ourselves and promote our services. I have successfully published multiple articles on various subjects and have received accolades for my work but the pay has been modest at best.

I sincerely want to make my living as a writer and not let it be a hobby like golf or stamp collecting, but unless something drastic happens and people start giving credit where credit is due and start respecting the profession more I see dark days for people who want quality articles from freelance writers. The amateurs will prevail because only they can afford to sell their work for pennies.

I will persevere and hope that things get better and brighter for word-smiths like myself and the idea's never die, but the enthusiasm wavers periodically and the Mellon-Collie sets in sometimes. Tropical breezes during the day, miles of unspoiled white sand beaches, swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, horseback riding, just to name a few of the relaxing and stimulating activities that are available for your enjoyment.

Humacao is the largest city in Puerto Rico and is known as “La Perla del Oriente” or the pearl of the orient. Humacao is widely known and famous for it’s “granitos” delicious, greasy snacks made of fried flour rice with cheese in the middle. Several sweet and wonderful tropical fruits are native to this island nation including guavas and mangoes.

Humacao has something for everybody, including a casino for the gaming lovers, beautiful post card views at every turn, and world class accommodations, including luxurious beachside condo rentals. Humacao is affordable opulence in a paradise setting.

The most grandiose resort on the island is Palmas del Mar, this mega resort is over 3000 acres and encompasses the entire south eastern portion of the island. Originally developed as a sugar cane plantation in the early 1900s, Palmas del Mar Resort now is a luxurious resort community with 20 tennis courts and two world class courses including a 18-hole Gary Player golf course, and l0 restaurants, with something for everyone’s taste and multiple exotic bars to help quench your thirst.

Palmas del Mar has a wonderful marina for the sailing enthusiast, plenty of crystal clear water for scuba diving, a water-sports center, places to rent or buy fishing equipment, fishing charters and sight seeing tours.

If you don’t find enough to keep you entertained and busy at Palmas del Mar, then you can explore the El Yunque (rainforest) and discover nature and try to catch a glimpse of the glorious wildlife and native birds that inhabit the rainforest.

The most popular tour to take is the one to Monkey Island. A half-hour boat trip takes you from Humacao to Santiago Cay off the coast of Naguabo. This island is the home of close to a thousand monkeys originally used as research animals, but are now liberated and studied in their natural environment.

Monkey Island has a variety of tropical marine life and gorgeous native corals. One of the most wonderful things to do why visiting Monkey Island is to snorkel in the shallow reefs and explore the remains of a sunken barge off the coast of the island.

Osborn
                                          Freelantz@sbcglobal.net

It’s something we do on an average of 20,000 times a day! It costs nothing and it’s simple to learn and easy to encompass into your daily routine.

Guru’s of Yoga have been practicing deep--breathing techniques for centuries to help relieve stress and tension, improve energy and promote relaxation.

Breathing incorrectly can cause exhaustion, stress, vocal strain, and hamper athletic activities and can encourage aches, pains, and unnecessary and preventable illnesses. Without sufficient oxygen your body is more apt to develop flu’s and cold’s caused by fatigue which lowers our resistance and our immunity.

Deep-Breathing oxygenates every cell in your body, from your brain to your vital organs. It stimulates the digestive process and helps improve mental alertness and performance.

When we take deep, full breaths our diaphragms move through it’s entire range downward to massage the liver, stomach and other internal organs and upward to massage our hearts. This helps to detoxify the body and promote healthy blood flow.

Slow, deep breathing along with the steady pumping of the abdomen stimulates our nervous system and initializes our “relaxation response.” It helps harmonize our body and this has an impact on our overall health.

It’s important to learn how to breathe more naturally the way our bodies were designed to breathe. Deep-Breathing can influence our metabolism as well, speeding up our system to help in allowing our bodies to get more exercise and make it easier to loose weight.

When the body is tranquil and working to it’s maximum efficiency we feel better, we are clearer in our thoughts which allows our creative side to flourish.
The small sacrifice of your time, 15-20 minutes a day can be of great benefit to your overall mental and physical health. Before work or school or after your day is done to wind down and relax, whatever works for you!

Deep-Breathing consists of four easy steps.
A. Inhale slowly and deeply until your lungs are full.
B. Pause at the end of the intake of breath.
c. Exhale slowly and completely.
d. pause at the end of the exhalation.

It’s easy, free, and very beneficial, and It’s takes very little of your time. It can drastically improve your health and help you maintain a more care-free, stress-free existence.

But as with everything in the world it can be overdone, a word of caution, practice deep-breathing in moderation. Excessive intake of oxygen can cause hyperventilation, dizziness, or even headaches or fainting.

The paint was faded and it had dents all over it and it had bald tires, or maybe your dad had a old Chevy Custom that he bought for 300.00 dollars that had different colored fenders and a warped tailgate!

I remember those days! Days when a truck was for working and they were all crunched up from running over logs, and bumping into fence posts.

But one day somebody down at Dodge thought it would be cool to build something different! Something innovative that would start a trend that not only survives until today, but is actually a frenzy.

In 1978 Dodge came out with a high performance, limited production truck that had a narrow wheel base, step-side fenders, chrome-plated vertical tailpipes, and only came in one color, Canyon Red! The Li’l Red Express! The Sports Truck was born.

Today’s sports truck enthusiast has taken the love of sports trucks to a new plateau. The Spring California Truck Jamboree in Irvine California is packed every year with custom parts manufactures and hundreds, and hundreds of people eager to show off their custom rides.

The Havoc East Coast Custom Truck Show in Bowling Green, Kentucky has grown every year until it is an awesome event that attracts trucks lovers from all over the east coast.

There are literally thousands of trucks shows every year from sea to shining sea, with a heavy saturation of shows in California, Florida, Las Vegas, and Louisiana.

No! It was declared “Best New Public Golf Course” by the Arizona Republic in 1996.

It had the distinction of being named best public golf course in 2006 by the Phoenix New Times and also #1 public golf course by Ranking Arizona Magazine, 2006 – 2007.

Located only minutes away from Scottsdale in the rugged McDowell Mountains of Fountain Hills, Eagle Mountain Golf Club radically interweaves its way through shaded box canyons and around majestic mountain peaks unique to this scenic corner of the Sonoran desert.

Eagle Mountain offers striking views into untouched desert landscape and area landmarks, such as Camelback and Red Mountain. The course offers 18 holes and four sets of tees and has a range of playing yardage from 5,065 to 6,800.

Eagle Mountain is not what you would normally expect from a typical desert course because many holes feature grass from tee to green. Another stunning feature is the natural box canyon. A lake comes into play on two holes. With four sets of tees, this course will challenge any skill level.

Another premier course not to be ignored is The Orange Tree Golf Resort. Although they all have many similarities, they also have many elements that make them unique, and should you consider investing in bonds you should know the different kinds of investment options available and the level of risk and potential return on investments involved. Below is a breakdown of five of the most popular bond options available.

Junk bonds are bonds that the experts believe have a greater than average chance of being defaulted on. Also commonly known as high yield bonds they pay higher yields to bondholders because the borrowers have a poor credit rating.

Junk bonds have a bad reputation because back in the '80s, junk bonds were invented to enable smaller companies or big investors to use bonds and bond markets to finance and plan takeovers of large corporations, also in fact a famous study completed in1989 showed that 34% of junk bonds default.

They pay a higher yield simply because the risk is greater, and also the potential reward is greater as well, sometimes as high as 50% more. A risky investment unless you are bond savvy and able to take chances with your investment dollars.

A corporate bond simply put is a bond issued by a corporation. The term is usually applied to longer-term debt instruments, generally with a maturity date falling at least a year after their issue date. Sometimes, the term "corporate bonds" is used to include all bonds except those issued by governments in their own currencies.

Strictly speaking, however, it only applies to those issued by corporations. And corporate bonds are often listed on major exchanges and some corporate bonds have an embedded call option that allows the issuer to redeem the debt before its maturity date. A pretty safe long term investment option.

Treasury Bonds are government bonds issued by the United States Treasury Department through the Bureau of the Public Debt. They are the debt financing instruments of the U.S. Federal government, and are often referred to simply as Treasuries.

There are four types of treasury securities: Treasury bills, Treasury notes, Treasury bonds, and Savings bonds. All of the Treasury securities, with the exception of savings bonds are very fluid and are heavily traded on the secondary market. A low risk, but low gain solid investment option.

Municipal bonds, also known as munis, are debt securities issues by states and local governments looking to raise money to build new roads, schools or to pay for other programs. The interest paid to investors over the course of the muni is tax free at the federal level.

And, if the investor resides in the city or state that issued the debt, state and local taxes are normally waived as well. However, if you sell the muni for a profit, the capital gains from the sale are taxable. A low risk investment with tax advantages.

International bonds come in the same general types as those of U.S. issuers. Most foreign governments have a finance department similar to the U.S. Treasury that issues bonds.

These government bonds, sometimes known as sovereign bonds, are similar to any other bond; they pay interest at regular intervals, and at maturity, they pay the principal amount back to the owner. Most of these bonds are issued in the currency used by the country that distributes them.

Just as with American bond funds, there are risks. A rise in interest rates will bring down the price of an international bond fund. And a drop in the value of the foreign currency can also affect international funds. Some international bond funds can have returns as high as 14 percent or better.

At the time I lived in rural Oregon and we would drive about three hours to get to the Oregon coast.

We would always leave before daylight and look for a quaint little pancake house along the way to fuel up for an intense four hours of battling Coho and Sockeye salmon. For some odd reason the fish would almost never bite after about 12:00 noon.

We would travel along the coastal highway through Salem, which is the capital city of Oregon, and take the Tillamook exit. Yes, Tillamook, where they make all that famous, delicious cheese!

But, our fishing spot was actually located just outside a sleepy little town called Garibaldi. Our favorite spot was called “The Ghost Hole.” It was supposed to a haunted inlet from the Pacific Ocean the legend dated back several hundred years and the locals avoided it like the plague. I never saw anyone else ever fishing there so it was a prime place to catch huge salmon.

We never saw any spooks, just huge salmon and lots of Sturgeon which we caught on occasion as well. The general rule of thumb with sturgeon however was under three feet or over six feet had to be released because they were juveniles and old timers.

The ghost hole was a horseshoe shaped inlet that was about a half of a mile in length and very deep. The fish would swim from the ocean and hang out there for some reason. And we were very happy about that because the fishing was fantastic. We never went out in a boat, we just fished from the shore.

Salmon are very intelligent and not easy to land. To start with they are huge and strong, and when you hook one they fight like no other fish in the world with the exception of a marlin. They break the surface of the water, sometimes as high as three feet. They twist and shake with such power and determination, its breathtaking to watch.

Their strategy of course is to break your line, and until we learned from our mistakes and started using thicker test line we lost a few beauties. I once stupidly brought a trout pole with very thin line and a big ornery salmon snapped my pole clean. I was the object of much teasing over that one for quite a while.

It was very difficult to decide what bait to use because they were very fickle and what worked one day, didn’t necessarily work the next. We brought night crawlers of course, and we even had lots of success with cocktail shrimp as bait believe it or not! Alvin had some custom made lures that an old fellow custom made for him that worked the best of all.

We were not always successful at catching our salmon, sometimes we went home disappointed and very tired. Over the many years since that time I’ve been fishing in many different parts of the country, but have never seen more beautiful views with such pure unspoiled glory like the Oregon coast. It seems like a distant dream to be standing upon that pristine shore without rubbing shoulders with twenty others fishermen.

The Pacific Northwest is so clean and pure because of the relatively meager population and lack of factories and pollution that other states have to deal with. That was over twenty years ago, but things have not changed very much. But actually this clever acronym means “Biological Appropriate Raw Food or Bones and Raw Food”

This ground breaking but still controversial canine diet comes to us from down under, developed by Australian veterinarian Ian Billinghurst.

The basic idea and concern which led to the inception of the BARF diet is the fact that we have so completely domesticated our canines and have completely forgotten that their nutritional needs are drastically different from our own. Before processed pet foods were common fare our dogs were routinely fed cooked table scraps and leftovers.

It is Billinghurst’s philosophy that a biologically appropriate diet for dogs must consist of raw whole foods much like what our canines’ wild relatives have consumed for millennia. This includes muscle meats, bones, fat, and small quantities of raw vegetables, along with necessary supplements.

Supporters of the BARF diet claim that to maintain optimum health, dogs must consume foods that they are evolutionarily suited to eat, and that commercially prepared dog foods lack the proper enzymes and other vital dietary necessities.

Another one of the BARF supporters criticisms of commercially prepared dog foods is that they contain numerous additives, unhealthy preservatives, and a high percentage of grain products, all of which may affect your dogs proper digestion and are unhealthy for your canine.

The resent pet food scare also has pet owners wondering just how closely the commercial pet food industries are regulated? Many pet owners are questioning the safety of the types of foods they have been feeding to their pets for years.

Some of the major criticisms of BARF are the very real risk of contamination if proper cautions are not taken due to the lack of preservatives especially where poultry is concerned. And also the costs associated with the BARF diet are substantially higher then commercially processed pet foods, and this can be a big consideration for breeders and kennel owners alike who have to prepare meals for multiple canines.

The BARF diet claims to be designed with the unique nutritional needs of your domesticated canine in mind. The fillers, chemicals, coloring, grains, and preservatives have been eliminated from your canines diet and only ingredients that promote healthy assimilation of proper sustenance are added.

The controversy rages on and everyone seems to have their own opinion on the subject. I suggest consulting your regular veterinarian and doing research of your own before making a leap of faith and jumping into a new nutritional program , you must be careful these days where your canines health is concerned.

The BARF diet is growing in popularity but has not yet to become a recognized household brand name like PURINA DOG CHOW or KIBBLES N BITS and not everybody agrees with Billinghurst’s way of thinking as well, especially the dog food companies that stand to loose millions if the BARF diet becomes the standard for breeders, kennels, hunters, and millions of dog owners around the globe.

Very exciting stuff, haven't started yet but will keep my blog updated with current news.

Also one of the companies RezHub.com that I've posting small travel articles for is interested in hiring a full time writer for their site in a couple of months.
