Another June 7 and im pwetty excited. Loads of wishes and calls.
At work and hope i can close early. Dunno how day is gonna go as per activities. But really in a VERY THANKFUL mood. God has been pretty awesome in my life in the past one year. Great friends, new and exciting job, new friends, wonderful family n siblings, plenty new things (lol)back in the choir (one of the best in Naija) Awesome relationship with God and lots n lots of testimonies. I'm just grateful o jare. Oh, NEW CAR (most expensive and thoughtful gift i've ever received!!!!!). I have so many reasons to be grateful oooooo. And i am!
Anyway, keep the presents coming and the messages. Oh, i love cards!!!! I have birthday cards from my 7th birthday! Cant just help it. No present is complete without a card o.

My First Visit to the Spa!

So i went to the spa for a full body massage recently, my first time ever and it was really and interesting experience. Started with about fifteen minutes of steam bath, then a warm shower before going in for the full massage then a pedicure. I had a great time (especially after all the drama I've been subjected to lately) and enjoyed every bit of it. Will definately recommend it to anybody.....Anybody except my boo?
I really wonder if i would want him to go for one with or without me. They are soooooooo detailed and well, kinda too intimate. Biko, call me a "bush girl" or any name you like, i thnk I'll rather give my man a thorough massage than allow anybody female or male give him a full body massage like that. As in seriously o! LOL.

My opinion is subject to change though, ~~you never know~~ but right now? ....... Maybe we should go to the Spa together and then I'll decide. You never know until you try.

New Week, Awesome Week

Last week was pwetty awesome! Got a job offer I'm totally loving. New experience, new people, new phase. Most importantly I'm grateful to God its my first real offer in two years!!!! Yipieeeee. And it's coming before my birthday.

Sunday morning has been crappy though. Yet to sleep and got a nasty facebook message from someone very silly this morning. Gave a befitting response though:- Silence.

But really just having a very tense sunday morning. Have a very short time frame to prepare for a major exam. With a new job in tow.........

Oh, i didn't go for choir rehearsals yesterday, wish i did though. Oh well. Really hope this new week gets better more fulfilling starting with today. One of my BFFs birthday is next week sunday and have no idea what gift to get. Ideas? Suggestions?

What have i been up to? I'm gonna share just one! I officially joined Healing Streams of God!!! Thats Daystar Christian Church official Choir!!!! After nearly 6 years of not been a part of any choir!!! ok, yeah, i joined a band last year. that should count i guess.
Anyway, i'll be singing in church with the Choir for the first time next sunday!!! And i'm so so so soooo excited about it!!!!.

Its almost 1 am on this beautiful saturday morning. Came across this phone call and just had to share.
This is a MALE man that was abused as 9 year old. And two decades later, hes talking about it for the first time. You wanna know how a case of child abuse can go unquestioned forever?

How many cases of sexual abuse do we have properly documented and how many is happening around you right now that you are blind to. A child has no fighting chance against the 'Wisdom' Smartness and self determination of a pedophile (child molesters). It's happening and believe me, the perpetrators are often than not the very same people you trust with your child. My niece and nephew are not allowed to peck even their parents on the mouth (with all this "gimme a kiss baby coo sound we have nowadays) to such coos they give a slight peck on the cheek #Shikena! And anytime they visit me, or stay briefly with me, they give a full account of what happened, what they ate, drank, played with while they were with me. My niece will prolly tell her dad (my brother) how i washed her bum after she used the toilet. But believe me, if suddenly they get home from my place and one of them isn't eager to 'SPILL' on how i spoilt, disciplined/ all that happened. Then the parent know something is wrong. What am i trying to say? Ask your child questions. When grandma was visited? When you went to church Sunday school, While at school. When grandpa, uncle, aunty visited and helped with baby-sitting. (they slept in the kids room with doors wide-open I hope!). During sleepovers. I know you trust this people, but they also trust some people you do not know JACK about. Be actively involved with the details and don't assume 'cos you were together when you visited the village, nothing could have happened. Ask them questions. Especially for the very quiet ones. And you wanna know how a case of Abuse can go undetected? The lasting effect it has on the victims psyche? You need to listen to this. The last 3mins had tears rolling down my cheeks.

Be Afraid!

Sometimes change can be scary and some risk may look foolish even wateful. But the abundant life isn't for the timid or fearful. Oh be afraid, but do not let that emotion of fear in itself dictate your next course of action.
Brian Tracy said, "The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear." So for 2013, focus. FOCUS on the things you desire, and not on the fear that it MAY not happen.

A few years ago I was getting these really insane water bills. I mean HIGH! So I decided to dig some wells in my yard to have water for my landscape. I live alone, so I know it had to be from watering the grass. So I hired a company to come out and dig these wells. The foreman and I walked all around my yard and as we were walking he was putting down flags. I asked what the flags were for. He said, "The flags represent good places to dig for water." I asked, "Why do you have so many flags?" He said, "I'm not sure if any of these places will produce water." I said, "Hold up, you mean if you dig all these spots and don't hit water I still have to pay you?" He said, "Yes, that's how it goes." I said, "Ok, fine." Needless to say, he dug three wells and never hit water. I said, "Just stop."

I got a few more extreme water bills and called him back. He said, "Are you sure?" I said, "Yes, keep drilling until you hit water." The next well he dug he was down 500 feet and still didn't hit any water. He asked if I wanted him to stop. I said, "Go deeper." He dug down another 200 feet and still nothing. I said, "Go deeper." He drilled another 200 feet and he hit rock. I said, "Blast it, cut it, do whatever you have to do but keep digging." After fighting the rock and breaking his drill and getting a new one we got a little deeper. He said, "We are at 1,200 feet, why do you want me to keep going?" I said, "Cause I'm tired of these water bills and I'm going to do something about it." He said, "But this is really deep." I asked him if he had hit water yet. He said "no," so I told him to go deeper. "But you don't understand," he said. "We don't usually drill this deep, this is going to be expensive." I told him that, "Sometimes you have to go deeper to get what you are after, no matter what the cost." He started the machine and went down another four inches and hit a river of water. Just a few inches separated me from getting my breakthrough. That was five years ago and that well has never run dry.

In 2013 I want you to apply that to your life in all ways. Sometimes you will spend time on a thing and it will produce no water. Don't be afraid to move on to another spot. YOU CAN'T HAVE FEAR. I don't care how much time you put into it. If the well is dry MOVE ON! Nothing lives where there is no living water. Be it a relationship, a job, a business, don't be afraid to move to another spot.

Now, on the other hand, if you are digging your well and you are sure that it is not only where you want to be but where God wants you to be, then keep digging in that same spot. Don't stop digging until you hit a river of blessings. Don't stop praying until you live in the change you've been waiting for. Don't stop pushing until you deliver your breakthrough. Yes, it will get difficult. Yes, you may hit rock. Yes, there will be a cost. But when you get to what God is trying to get you to, YOU WILL RECOVER IT ALL! One of my favorite scriptures says that. "PURSUE AND YOU SHALL RECOVER IT ALL!"

Some people give up when they are only inches away!!

Something 9ICE & fun! Please Enjoy...

Monday: We are back from honeymoon and settled in our new home. It's fun to cook for Chuka . Today I made moin moin and the recipe said, 'Beat 12 eggs separately '. Well, I didn't have enough bowls to do that, so I had to borrow 12 bowls to beat the eggs in. D moin moin turned out fine though.

Tuesday: We wanted a fruit salad for supper. The recipe said, 'Serve without dressing'. So I didn't dress. But Chuka happened to bring a friend home for supper that night. They both looked so startled when I served them. I think it was the salad.

Wednesday: I decided to serve rice and found a recipe, which said, 'Wash thoroughly before steaming d rice'. So I heated some water and took a bath before steaming the rice. Sounded kind of silly in the middle of the day. I can't say it improved d rice anyhow.

Thursday: Today Chuka asked for salad again. I tried a new recipe. It said, prepare ingredients, and then toss on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving.' I hunted all over the place for a garden with a bed of lettuce and when I got one, I tossed my salad into the bed of lettuce and stood over there for over one hour so the dog would not take it. CHUKA came over and asked if I felt all right. I wonder why? He must be stressed at work; I'll try and be supportive.

Friday: Today I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said, 'Put all ingredients in a bowl and beat it'. Beat it I did, to my mother's place. There must have been something wrong with the recipe, because when I came back home again; it looked the same as when I left it.

Saturday: Chuka went shoppin today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday. I'm sure I don't know how hens dress for Sunday. I never noticed back on the farm, but I found an old doll dress and its little cute shoes. I thought the hen looked really cute. When Chuka saw it, he started counting to ten. Either he was really stressed because of his work, or he wanted the chicken to dance. When I asked him what was wrong he started crying and shouting out 'Why me? Why me?'

MY 2012: AND THE WORLD DID NOT END!!!!

Its the last day of 2012 and I'm so excited about it. Its been a very interesting, sometimes adventurous 52weeks. Lots of down moments but for every blessing, trials, ups and downs, the disappointing moments, the hurts and heartbreaks, the healing process, the happy moments, the exciting days, the unsure moments and the very certain ones, I'm just really very grateful. That i have life, a mind to reason with and my head still properly screwed on. lol. That i have God and how he's always got my back and for that and more, i cannot thank God enough.

1st quater 2012.

Wrote my first PMP attempt and failed I wasn't well prepared i must say. Went for an open day for masters programs and made new friends. Oh, how can i forget the 'oil subsidy' removal and the chaos after? The enforced holidays and the hardship it placed on a lot of people. Still wondering what came out of the whole 'Drama" and if it really achieved anything. Anyways, 2012 really started after the strike was called off.

One of my best friend got married to the love of her life and i was maid of honor for the first time in my life. We were able to pull off a small bridal shower for her and It was really fun actually. The wedding ceremony was amazing and we were blessed with showers from heaven. lol. It was almost like heaven decided that earth was too dry and needed to get more than a lil wet! It wasn't anything like the flood in the days of Noah, but it sure seemed like it. My boyfriend and I broke up and i experienced 'heartbreak' for the very first time in my almost three decades of existence. I've heard about it, but i had no idea one could hurt that much.

2nd-3rd Quater 2012.
Drama! Drama! Drama!!
Prolly wasn't in the best state of mind to make some decisions but i did. Some i regretted, others I am quite proud of. Cant really remember what happened but i realized i have very few true friends. And when the chips are down, people really disappear. lol. As in serious disappearance o!!!!
Oh well, the chaffs went and the true ones remained.
I started a teaching stunt with Lagos State Government and it was quite an experience. It baffled a lot of the teachers there how i could finish from a private University and want to teach in a State secondary school. For me, it was an awesome experience and one i truly cherish. I loved my students and saw the potentials in them if only they could be steered in the right direction. I met the unruly ones too and they made me realize i am indeed not an average Nigerian. (lol). But all these are now part of the Historical records of my Foundation.
Having a female Principal was scary but she was pretty AMAZING and one of a kind. Having a female boss can be a nightmare and female principals have always been scary. But she showed me you can be a boss with a difference. She's got class, finesse and an attitude of excellence. These are all rare traits in the Public sector and definitely rare among civil servants.
Oh! the corruption in Civil Service is totally unbelievable. It's quite sad and I still wonder where and how the change will start.
Then the quality of teachers we have in secondary schools? Makes me wonder about the quality of students they will produce. Some teachers in my opinion need to go back to high school!
Everybody in my family left (travel, change of location) and somehow i was alone in the house. I actually kinda like living alone sometimes but thank God for my wonderful friend Mimi. She is a FAB babe that i have grown to love more and more after over a decade of being friends. Well over a decade ooo, almost getting to two!!!! Babe, we don dey old oooo. (hehehe). Anywayszz, she came to stay with me for more than a lil while and it was really fun, we got to talk and talk and talk.
Two things i realized as a single babe after so long. Courtesy isn't a very common character trait in town nowadays. 2. Ladies are really desperate to get married anyhow anyhow!!! Its like a new 'epidemic' in town. Sometimes i find it funny and sometimes it makes me sad 'cos it really is kinda sad.

3rd-4th Quater 2012
WOW! Yeah!! Went to Delta with the Covenant University Alumni HOPE foundation. It was an awesome experience doing our bit to help the Internally Displaced Persons of Patani Community in Delta State. It was my first real road-trip in Naija and It was very very interesting. Met people of like minds (Remi, Tobi, Folake, Sunkanmi, Ruth) with a heart burning to help anyone that needs help. Thanks guys for the HUGE opportunity. God Bless Patani residents.
My vacation plan to UK was delayed thanks to British High Commission. I missed a very important parry!!! Was pwetty annoying. Who wants a vacation during winter. Mschew.

For the first time in a long while, i had no car to drive and my 'going out' was totally reduced. I officially don't like danfo buses. They rip your clothes, you inhale too many body odors, the conductors are rude and sometimes you get wet from other people's sweat. YUCK! And the drivers can be sucidal!!! Totally Sucidal o.

I joined a music group and it was really something i needed more than my crew realized. It was therapeutic and exciting. The distance and journey to rehearsal venue can be tiring but the time spent there makes it very worthwhile. God bless our boss, Jim and Ejiro and every member of GLC.

All through the year, the high point was really my walk with God. I grew in leaps and bounds. Each day with him unravelled something new. With him I was able to overcome a lot of hurdles, make decisions and experience miracles. Then my sis and I grew closer in-spite of the thousands of mile between us. There really is nothing like having a Big Sis. Mine is Priceless and I love her now more than ever.

Well, thats the summary of my 2012. Will gist you about December next year! A lot can happen in less than 24hours and I'm expectant!!! It's not over until it's over so stay tuned and do not touch that dial! Oops! I mean don't forget to visit again soon or better still, follow my blog to get updates on new posts! Saw this on twitter when i got distracted a lil bit from my studying and it's making me go back to studying.

One of the most important keys to Success is having the discipline to do what you know you should do, even when you don't feel like doing it.

So right now, i don't feel like reading but I'm trying to discipline myself and finish another chapter today and practice some questions. Ok, i will practice a minimum of twenty questions. That's me being SPECIFIC! Phew!

My Hope: A lil walk down memory Lane

Growing up in my Home town was sometimes a nightmare, can be fun but sometimes it was just.....sigh. I needed to leave and breathe!!!! I had fun sometimes, i was able to create some fun for myself, made lots and lots of friends, had time to build my personality, read a lot and developed a relationship with God. But as a teenager, theres just this irreplaceable desire to get out and go somewhere. It sort of felt like my life was stalling, all thanks to this townish village. lol

One of my friends was Tunde Okelana. He was a neighbor while I was staying with my Guardian. She did not exactly like him 'cos Tunde was, (in retrospect) a typical teenage boy and she did not want him influencing me and her kids. But we liked each other a lot and over time i developed a huge crush on him. We spent most of the day together and being neighbors, it wasn't long before we grew inseparable. I thought i was in-love, as in love as any 15year old could be. Not even sure how we got separated but i left my home town (Thank God!!!!) for University and we lost touch until this year, thanks to face book. But even after reconnecting on Facebook it wasn't until Friday night that i got a Skype request from him, i accepted and we played catch up. He wanted to video Skype (see your royal Hawtness after so long -ME FYI) but i was already in bed (i take my beauty sleep serious) and could only chat. Was planning on video skype-ing on Saturday (the next day when I'm all pampered up) but for some funny reason i did not.

I woke up Monday morning and saw RIP on his Facebook wall. I saw his wife write, people should stop saying/writing nonsense on her husband's wall. And i thought it was a pretty expensive joke that he will have to deal with. How could i have imagined it to be true? My very young friend died suddenly in Cairo Egypt leaving his mother, wife, children and family behind.

Last weekend was one of too many deaths so close to the end of the year (Adam Lanza killing 20 children and 7 adults in an elementary school, the navy chopper accident in Nigeria, the now regular killings by Boko Haram in Nigeria). And I'm so sad, vey sad. I can't help but wonder why i had to re-unite with him same weekend he was gonna die, why did i not allow us talk on Skype that night? Could i have said something to him? A lot of questions but very few answers.

Deaths like these makes you realise this season of Christmas, of celebrating the birth of Jesus is also one of sober reflection. Drink, be merry but do not forget the very reason for the season. It's because of him that we are not afraid of death and it's sting and he is the reason we have hope.

On the Xth day of Christmas

Had a very annoying week. No thanks to Swift Networks and my unfortunately not having a backup internet service provider. I'll have to look into having one.
Thankfully i was able to make something out of the week and be more than a little productive. Been thinking of what to post this Christmas season. It still doesn't ~~really~~ feel like it here in Naija, Very very hot weather and horrid electrical power supply. Ok, maybe not so horrid, but could be better. Actually, it's been very annoying, very very annoying. I need to get an inverter ASAP!!!

What's my plan for Christmas, it's the first I'm having in a while without staying with any family member, not sure I'm gonna cook but thinking of asking a few friends over for a lil "Home Party". Hopefully, I'll be able to pull that off and not decide to stay indoor all day.

I'm also trying to write my own twist to the birth of Jesus. Was Inspired by the Nativity Story and I just tried to imagine the twists and emotional up and downs Mary probably had when she discovered she was actually pregnant, still unmarried and 'technically' a Virgin. Who was her confidant? Did anyone believe her? Was she confused? She could get tied to a stake and get stoned. How did Joseph react? Was he disappointed? Did he want to run? Would Joseph have believed her without an angel appearing to him? How did Mary respond to nobody believing her? They knew she's always been a good girl or didn't they? Why did God chose Mary?
Oh well, I'll spend time developing how i think the story would have played out in the life of the average teenage girl in the 20th century.

Back to now, its 6 days to Christmas, how are your plans playing out? Do you have any plans for Christmas at all or just waiting to see how it will go? Spending it with family? A boyfriend/girlfriend? Oldfriends/new ones? Plan on doing something naughty? Time for sober reflection? Whatever you do, remember that Christmas is all about Jesus Christ and his coming down to earth in a phenomenal and miraculous way just for you and I.

Nope I am not sharing the twitter handles or a link to the pictures. But all 3 involved are from a private university in Nigeria. Nope, its not my 'Alma Mater'

Sharing/tweeting someone's nude picture as an act of of revenge is not uncommon (Wont make sense to do that with Riri though, she's doing a good job of that herself). It's happened over and over again and it will happen again.

How smart is it for a girl to take her nude picture and send to ‘boyfriend’ all in the name of you guys are in love? Now, months later there’s a fight, and you guys have moved on to other people and in a moment of ‘spite’ naked pictures gets leaked. It’s sad and appalling how ~~some~~ ladies put their brain on freeze on hearing the words “I love you” In the words of Omojuwa, “Stupidity is stupidity and it cannot be rationalized”

I once asked a friend how funny “Pheromone” is. Making you believe someone you never knew existed is now the center of your world in six days, weeks or month and by the seventh, you become sworn enemies. Oh, the complexities of the human nature.

I’m not saying send or do not send naked pictures to whom you want or like, I’m just saying be smart and think about the consequences of your actions and be ready to live with them. You have a future at stake. Imagine your children seeing a leaked picture of a naked you somewhere online in some decades to come? Once it gets on the internet, it never really goes away you know.

The Patani Experience Pt1

Patani is a Community in Delta State. It's a very small community and one of the communities beside the River Niger, Nigeria, hence heavily affected by the flood.

Stirred by the recent flood disaster in Nigeria, Eagles Hope Charity Foundation- a nonprofit, community development initiative of the Covenant University's Alumni Association- called out to the Covenant University Community, its Alumni and friends to donate relief materials for some of the Victims of the flood (Internally Displaced Persons-IDPs). And did the materials come? Donations flooded in, clothing, shoes, bags, food, provisions and cash. A day was fixed to deliver the donated materials and Patani Community in Delta State was chosen.

A day prior to departure from Lagos, all the relief materials had to be sorted, arranged and packed by a team of six volunteers.

For me, day started very busy. Had couple of errands to run before going to the rendezvous point. Traffic was pretty crazy and we had tons of relief materials to sort. Not having enough hands was gonna slow us down ~~or not~~.

Was expecting to get to the rendezvous spot by 12noon but as at 2pm, i was still on the road. I had to get home, park the car, get a cab to take me to Ikeja where we were to sort out relief materials before taking off to Delta on Thursday morning. Wasn’t surprised by the call asking to confirm if I was still game. LOL. (Was mentally prepared to work all night and catch a nap during the trip).

After what felt like forever, 4pm, i was able to leave my Estate and head for Ikeja (Finally ooooh!!!!!). Got there about 5pm (thanks to fair traffic and smart cab guy), and on seeing the materials we were to sort, I was overwhelmed and knew we needed as much help as we could get. So i called my ‘Fix guy’ to come over and help. Another pair of hands will go a very long way. And indeed it did.

By the time we were through with sorting, packing and tagging the relief materials, we were overwhelmed by the size and quantity and so afraid that all wouldn’t go into the two buses hired. We logical-ised it and came up with an alternative plans of sending any of the relief that couldn’t go; sending through someone, another team? anyone. We even prioritized the materials! Lol.

By 12midnight, we were able to finally have dinner and go to bed. I still felt weird sort of, apparently all other members of the team knew each other and I was the newbie.

5a.m, the team leader came to knock on our door. Time to wake up! I got outside and the buses had arrived. By the time we saw the size of one of the buses hired (at a subsidized rate by God is Good Motors) our fear of not going with all the relief materials was alleviated.
All the materials will definitely go or so i imagined. Hoped?

Swollen With Pride?

Shortly after Booker T. Washington became head of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, he was walking past the house of a wealthy family. The woman of the house, assuming Washington was one of the yard workers her husband had hired, asked him if he would chop some wood for her. Professor Washington smiled, nodded, took off his coat and chopped the wood. When he carried the armload of wood into the woman’s kitchen, a servant girl recognized him and rushed to her mistress to tell her of his identity.

The next morning, the woman appeared in Washington’s office. Apologizing profusely, she said repeatedly, “I did not know it was you I put to work”. Washington replied with generosity, “It’s entirely all right, madam. I like to work and I’m delighted to do favour for my friends.”

The woman was so taken with his manner and his willingness to forgive that she gave generous gifts to the institute, and persuaded many of her wealthy acquaintances to do likewise. In the end, Washington raised as much money for the institute from this one act of chopping wood as he did from other fund – raising event! Here was a man who is confident of himself and is not threatened by the opinion of others.

Some of us think big, but are not willing to start small. We just want the big break. The story is told of a man who was walking the streets of Philadelphia searching for employment and finally happened to call on the office of a well-known businessman by the name of Girard. When he asked for a job, Mr. Girard personally responded, “Yes, I can give you work. See that pile of bricks out there? Carry them to the other end of the yard and stack them up.”

By nightfall the man reported that the project was completed and he received his pay. He then asked if there would be more work the next day. Girard said, “Yes, come in tomorrow and carry those same bricks back to where you found them.” The following morning the man arrived early and got busy, never saying a word. For more than a week, Girard instructed the worker to carry bricks back and forth until it was evident to Girard that he could trust this new employee. He was then given a new and bigger responsibility. As far as Girard was concerned, if the man could be faithful in a mindless, inconsequential task… he could be faithful in a transaction, which truly mattered.

If you know where you are going, you can always start from somewhere to get there. According to The Talmud, “Why was man created on the sixth day? To teach that if he is ever swollen with pride, it can be said: a flea came ahead of thee in creation.”

Humility will open great doors for you if you make it a habit.

Dear Lord bless the souls that are reading this article and do not allow pride to stop them from achieving their goal in Jesus name!

Sunday's Real Deal!

So I went to one of those ‘controversial’ Christian Universities; the very best private University in Nigeria. As an undergrad, there was a time we were to carry our Bibles in our bags daily for a couple of reasons. Or no reason sef! lol

1. Because of Chapel service, there was a time we had chapel service every day. Lots of impromptu meetings with the chancellor. This is a Jesus University.

2. It was an offense not to have your bible on you in the chapel.

3. I can’t remember the third one. ~~Bite me!~~

Carrying a Bible in my bag started during that period sha and now, ten years later, I always have my bible in my bag even when i wasn’t reading it for months I always had it on me (Few exceptional cases though). It’s like my constant companion. Even with the advent of smart phone, my paper-back Bible, my pink cute bible is still my very first love.

I had an experience recently, I went to see someone (business meeting) and we were all talking and suddenly, I remembered something I read and was about to bring out my bible to check!!! I looked around and I was like wont they refer to me as a freak? Seriously? Does that make me hypocritical? I decided to use my e-bible. Lol.

Between the last quarter of 2011 and now, I’ve been having a ball with my bible and the Holy Spirit! It’s been an exciting adventure i can’t even begin to describe to you. Life I always say is an adventure. A walk in the word? That’s the real deal!!!

There was a time i just wasn’t feeling the bible. For a very long time sef. So i only read Proverbs (1chapter daily) or Psalms when I can squeeze in the time. And I remember telling God I was no longer feeling his word. Lol. Cos really, I want feeling it @ all! It was long, it was boring and ......it was like those big, huge boring novels that you read when going to sleep.

I knew that wasn’t normal neither was it how it was before, so i asked God for a change that i needed to experience something new and fresh. It didn’t happen suddenly and I also had to make some changes. I decided to join the Daystar family in the 1 year bible plan and it’s been AMAZZING!!! It was scary at first. Sometimes 5 chapters in a day!!! The idea was .....for me daring and scary. But I decided to go for it. At first, it was all stories and sometimes boring. Scratch that, it was mostly boring at first. But I stayed on it and It was awesome!

My very first time (of doing the bible in a year)and I couldn’t get enough, i still can’t because now, it’s not about READING THE WHOLE BIBLE in a year, its about a re-discovery of the awesomeness of my heavenly father. The insights, the understanding and then God speaking to me straight from his word and oh my my! The miracles and wonders the word is producing in my life, the changes in me and around me!!! Its mind boggling! Maybe I should Blog about that transition, hmmmm. Maybe......NOT!

It’s like reading a super bestseller that just won’t end! The thrill, the excitement, the suspense!!!! Right now, typing I’m really excited and can’t wait to pick up my BIBLE again.

Idiosyncransies of my SHEmotions

It was really ridiculous, how my mood went from Happy to Irritated in seconds. 'Twas' quite an experience this morning, not unusual just hasnt happened in a very long while. I just thought of a situation and got irritated with everybody!!! ~Rolling ma Eyes~

I call them my SHEmotions moments because they just plain old and annoying.

So let me share something that just happened with you.

Got a call from “a friend” some minutes ago telling me he forgot something at home, something important and Urgent and now he's stuck in traffic. I caught myself wondering (In my irritated and semi-annoyed mood) “Why are you calling to tell me that? Its not like there’s anything I can do about it and I don’t have a magic wand that will make the stuff appear just by your side?”

Thankfully, I did not say that to him. I got that check and empathized and encouraged him to try getting some other stuff done for the day.

After dropping the call, I decided to evaluate my actions/emotions.

Then the Holy-Spirit made me realize It wasn’t about what I could do to help ~~Madam Helper’s Ministry~~. It’s about people you just reach out to when things or something is going wrong. Not because they/you can solve your/their problem but because they/you believe they/you can identify with that situation and circumstance and maybe, just maybe a solution can be arrived at (lots of they/youszzz). Hopefully, no wrong counsel will be exchanged hence the need for the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth.

Then I thought about my circle of Influence. The people who reach out to me and the people I turn to. And I’m so blessed, mightily blessed by God with Awesome amazing friends. Oh they are not always there (that's the Job Description for Holy Spirit), but I always have them. (Contradictory right?, well It’s how I can capture the situation. LOL)

Its been a great, amazing, testimony filled week. Excited about next week already. But for now, am gonna enjoy my weekend and expecting a very special gift from a very special SOMEONE!

Will You Help?

Right now, I’m looking round the house. Making sure the cleaning up has been done properly and to my satisfaction. Walls wiped (maintaining white paint in Nigeria is a HUGE task), floors mopped, windows cleaned, toilets sparkling, Kitchen in top notch state, lawn mowed, sigh! It really is a long list. I'm really looking forward to managing my very own house.

Anyway, suddenly i tried to Imagine this house as one of the houses in the flooded area, I tried to imagine having to move from the comfort of my own home into a tent and waiting for someone to bring me my daily meal, I can’t work, there’s no ATM, there’s no market to buy food, no kitchen to cook my meals, I can’t feed my family. Having to manage whatever daily ration I get in the camp.....?

Then i realized, we can’t all just sit and wait and pray and wonder what the government is doing to help this people?

I’m here in my niece ad nephew’s room trying to piece my thoughts together on my laptop and my 2 yr old niece is just screaming and crawling all over me, trying to draw my attention to only God knows what. Oh! There’s a cobweb somewhere I need to see!!!

What will it be like trying to manage a 2yr old in the camp? No schools, no teachers, no hospitals. Different characters in the camp. Sigh!

There was no warning! No fore-cast, just a sudden surge of flood, no warning. Right now, I’m not looking for whom to blame or how responsible or irresponsible the government is. I’m just wondering what you and I as citizens are doing about helping our fellow citizens. This is an opportunity to reach out. If you look hard enough, you will figure out a way to help. You, yeah I mean you might just be the custodian of a very unique solution if only you will think about it for more than 30seconds.

Let me introduce you to I-respond.

According to the Nigeria Red Cross 64,000 people have been displaced, 148 dead and an estimated 134,000 have been affected by the recent flood crisis across 21 states in Nigeria.

In response to this, the HOPE Foundation has launched a relief project called Project i-Respond to raise relief materials (foodstuffs, blankets and clothing items, etc) for the affected areas. Cash donations are also welcomed.

When issues like this come before us, many-a-times, we tend to think that there is nothing we can do about it, whereas there is so very much that we can do. This is why iRespond Project was launched- to get as many people as possible to respond-in-action to the ills of this time, there is a need to RESPOND, and quickly too.
