Various Artists in a bid to spread their tentacles and widen their fame and fan base, choose to tour several countries and continents as they spread their message. Even actors are not left out as the likes of Jim Iyke ( Nollywood Hunk ) who ventured into music a few years back is currently on tour in Canada .

Nigeria's own Ruggedy Baba isnt left out. He is currently touring China. Unfortunately however, his tour was interrupted by the Chinese police officers, who stormed his show, not as fans nor guests, but to arrest the performer. This even occured in the city of Gaungzhou..

'Definitely the work of the devil' you would say as this occurred amidst high turn out of fans and other notable celebrities - The likes of Demarion ( of B2K) and Super Eagles Aaron Samuel were there to grace the event.

It seems it was the handwork of an envious show promoter who invited the police to disrupt the event.

This happens to be Ruggedman's first show in China. Though other shows are still scheduled to take place, there might be a lower turn up as many Nigerians without valid visas who attended the Gaungzhou event were arrested and may face deportation.

Maheeda Gives Scholarship To Abandoned Twins

As opposed to popular opinion, Maheeda, the singer and nudist is not that bad after all. She is good on the inside. She proved this earlier in her decision to adopt a set of twins.

The controversial singer has vowed to take cater fully for the twins, who purportedly have been abandoned by their father. Their mother is without any means of lively hood to cater for them.

Maheeda made this known via Instagram on Thursday, March 12, 2015 while sharing a photo of the twins.

The identity of the mother is yet to be revealed.

Nigerian Election - A Process gone wrong !!!

As Nigeria gears towards elections March 28th, the Country has been in a state of tension, with political kingpins from different Political affiliations trying to get the upper-hand and gain more recognition.

Instead of focusing on enlightening the populace on their plans and manifesto if elected, politicians in Nigeria are busy throwing tantrums from one cardinal of the country to the other.

What is expected of any truly democratic environment during an election period is far from what we see in Nigeria at the moment.political rallies ,rather than create awareness or educate the masses on strategies to tackle existing challenges, such rallies are used to propagate abuses and advertise the in-competencies of the opposition.

Of-course its normal for opposition parties and candidates to give reasons why THEIR OPPONENTS shouldn't be voted, but the focus should be giving reasons why YOU should be voted in.Its kind of a twisted miscalculation.

They should take a positive approach. Instead of creating negativity in the air, they should create positivism. If you tell people during a campaign that Mr 'A' is not qualified because he did 'this and that' does not justify why you should be in office.

The mentality among politicians is rather ironic. They think they should be voted into office because they seemingly committed lesser crimes than their opposition, even though they never admit to committing any crimes ( Directly).

'A' accuses 'B' of looting N10 Million, while 'B' in his defense accuses 'A' of looting N100 Million. 'B' in his twisted mind thinks he should be favored in the polls since he committed a lesser offence. They fail to realize that stealing is stealing. If you steal N100 Million, you are as guilty as the one who stole N1.

Theft is Theft.

Nigerians should also be aware that not all that is said or stated by the media is exactly true. Of-course this is not happening in Nigeria alone, but the time has come when we as citizens should check and properly investigate our candidates before voting them in.

And again , there comes another factor. How well do we know our candidates? We only know them based on what they tell us. No organisation is able to fully and truly educate us on the past, and present histories of any of these candidates.

Many of these candidates hide in the shadow of their fake selves ( With exception of the incumbent officials as its impossible to hide at the time ) until its election time and then show up with millions of promises, which they fail to keep. After their tenure in office, they go into hibernation and then the cycle starts all over again.

Its time for us to get the right leaders in office. They say "They Young shall grow", "They are The Leaders of Tomorrow". But we see a country where the same set of people are being recycled again and again. This brings another question. Is the election truly bringing back these people ? Are we truly re-electing our past leaders or are we being deceived by a pseudo process faking to grant us the right to choose our own leaders.Is the election process real?Or is it a charade , and the real winners are chosen by a select group , long before the election process.

If that is the case , then our right to vote is being stolen from us.Then the whole thing is illegal.

What then can we do? Should we allow this linger on and on?Or is there actually anything we can do?

Instead of creating a more secure environment, these politicians have succeeded in creating panic and fear. People are afraid , This is aside from the bombings.

Should this continue every 4 years?

Bomb Discovered in North East Nigeria !!!

Nigerian security averted tragedy in Maiduguri as they detected a powerful IED planted near an Internally Displaced Persons camp.

According to Sahara Reporters, the security services found and detonated a bomb a few meters from the headquarters of the State Security Services in Maiduguri on March 14, 2015.

The bomb was hidden in Yerwa neighborhood along Kano road close to a bus station owned by Borno Express. Luckily, it was found by security agents who notified the anti-bomb unit of the Nigerian police in the state.

The bomb was demobilized but it was so powerful that when it was detonated the explosion panicked residents in the area.

Another source revealed that Nigerian troops had recorded victories over Boko Haram would-be suicide bombers in Kaga local government area in the state. The military tracked down a teenage girl suicide bomber in Ngamdu township, who allegedly blew herself up before security agents could apprehend her. Fortunately, she was the only casualty in the attack.

During the operation the Nigerian military killed three suicide bombers who were heading to a military checkpoint along Damaturu-Maiduguri Road.

The explosions rocked Yerwa Government secondary school which hosts refugees from Bama.

Nigerian authorities have been silent on the issue. Nor is any information available on the official social media pages and the website of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.

Vanguard reports that the incident occurred at about 6.15pm, shaking many buildings around Maduganari ward, Ramat Polytechnic institute and other nearby communities.

While some sources say that the explosion took place at Yerwa school, others say that it happened at Arabic Teacher’s College. Both schools share the same fence and are used as camps for the displaced people.

One of the sources said that “the explosions were safely detonated by security operatives at Yewa Secondary School located at the heart of the city after discovering that it was planted by insurgents to cause havoc in the camps”.

Britain launches 'Poo - Bus' Running On Human Waste

The bus is powered by bio-methane gas produced from human and food waste.

Britain’s first ever ‘Bio-Bus’, running on human and household waste, will go into regular service later this month. This should be a good development especially considering the ever increasing costs of fuel globally (PMS & Diesel)

The bus, powered by biomethane gas, will utilise waste from more than 32,000 households along its 15-mile route.

Operated by First West of England, the bus will fill up at a site in Avonmouth, Bristol, where sewage and food waste is turned into biomethane.

The bus, able to seat up to 40 people, was unveiled in Bristol last autumn and from 25 March it will operate four days a week on Service 2, stretching from Cribbs Causeway, just north of the city, and run through the centre to Stockwood, just south.

If the route proves to be a success, First West will consider introducing of what have affectionately become known as “poo buses.”

The vehicle can travel up to 300km on one tank of gas, which takes the annual waste of about five people to produce.

Managing Director James Freeman said: “Since its original unveiling last year the Bio-Bus has generated worldwide attention and so it’s our privilege to bring it to the city, to operate, quite rightly, on Service 2.”

He added: “The very fact that it’s up and running in the city should help to open up a serious debate about how buses are best fuelled, and what is good for the environment.”

Unconfirmed reports insinuates that sultry Nollywood Diva Mercy Johnson Okojie is going into Music. She is not the first Nollywood superstar to venture into the Music arm of entertainment.

She tweeted about this after the just concluded AMVCA saying "with @DONJAZZY at AMVCA...watch out for my single...its Don Jazzy again."

This kinda creates an impression that sooner than later, we would see a new single from Mercy Johnson Okojie.

Our fears however circle around the fact that most of these Nollywood stars venture into it with little or no success. Their being successful in acting doesn't transpire to equivalent success in Music. Mercy Johnson's case however might be different as she has succeeded in most things she involves herself in and is not known to partake in anything she doesn't believe she can achieve.

We all remember the likes of Genevieve Nnaji ( with her single - "No More" ),Omotola Jalade Ekehinde (OmoseXy), Tonto Dikeh ( Now with D Banj Record label (DKM), Desmond Elliot, Lilian Bach, Kate Henshaw, Ramsey Nuoah, Charles Okafor (Mr Ibu), Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor and many others who figured , the Music arm of the Entertainment Sector would be more rewarding and possibly less challenging.

So far, most of them who ventured to 'dive in' , did not hesitate to 'dive out'. A few others tasted some form of success from that side of the industry. Notable amongst them is Nkem Owoh whose "I go Chop Your Dollars' sold millions of copies world wide.

Although its disputed that that song was made by veteran nollywood Music creator Stanley Okorie, facts still remain that the success of the song was attributed to Nkem Owoh's performance.

Islamic State recruited my son, he was not a Mossad agent: Slain Israeli teen's father

In what contradicts the confessions of slain Israeli teenager Mohamed Said Ismail Musallam in the ISIS video, his family has said that he was recruited by the Islamic State and had nothing to do with Mossad, reports said.

Continuing its pattern of flaunting its gruesome acts, the ISIS released its latest video on Tuesday which showed a child shooting a 19-year-old Israeli man, who confessed to being a Mossad agent, moments before his murder.

SITE Intel Group;s head Rita Katz posted few stills from the video on Twitter.
Speaking to the CNN, the slain teenager's family said that his son was not a Mossad spy, instead he had been recruited by the Islamic State.

"Mohamed told me and his brother that ISIS took him... They sent him money through the Western Union. They said you will have girls, money, cars, villas, paradise, but afterwards he discovered that there is nothing," the slain teen's father Said Musallam told the CNN.

Musallam's father added that he tried his best to help his son return home by sending money, but he could not manage to.

Contrary to the family's statement, the slain teenager confessed in the video that he was a Mossad spy sent to infiltrate the ISIS.

The video posted by the ISIS shows Musallam sitting on his knees in orange jumpsuit with two ISIS fighters in fatigues – one an adult and another a child.

The adult man is then shown commanding the child in French after which the boy shoots the Israeli teen in the forehead with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun.

The ISIS continues to release the videos of hostage executions as an act of propaganda on social media, despite Twitter blocking pro-ISIS accounts.

The ISIS in past had beheaded at least six Western hostages and released their beheading videos.

The most recent was the video last month by IS militants in Libya, showing the beheading of 21 Coptic Christians by the sea shore, turning waves red.

Suicide Blasts in Maiduguri (NorthEastern Nigeria) Kills 54 Wounding 143 !

The City Of Maiduguri has been hit with 5 Suicide bomb attacks today Saturday .So far 54 People are confirmed dead with another 143 wounded according to Police Source.

The attacks occurred over four hours in locations from a busy fish market to a crowded bus station according to Police Commissioner Clement Adoda.

The fifth explosion was from a car bomb at a military checkpoint 75 kilometers (50 miles) outside the city wounding a soldier and two members of a civilian self-defense unit.

"It seems the suicide bomber wanted to reach Maiduguri" says the officer who spoke on anonymity .

In the deadliest blast, 18 people died when a suicide bomber blew himself up in a tricycle taxi at the entrance to the bustling Baga fish market, police said.

“I saw many dead bodies lying on the ground, many dead, and several others badly injured,” said fish seller Idi Idrisa.

About an hour later a second explosion rocked the Post Office shopping area near the market, according to witness Baban Musa, who said there were many casualties.

A third blast was detonated at Monday Market, the biggest in Maiduguri, and a fourth explosion ripped through the Borno Express bus station.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks but they bear the hallmarks of the Boko Haram Islamic extremist group. Maiduguri is the birthplace of Boko Haram and the extremists have tried to seize the city with armed assaults by hundreds of fighters and have made it the target for many bombings since they were driven from their base there after a military state of emergency was declared in May 2013.

Boko Haram has increased suicide bombings and village attacks in recent weeks as forces from Nigeria and Chad have driven the insurgents from a score of towns along Nigeria’s border with Cameroon.

The insurgents also have attacked villages in Cameroon and Niger in response to Nigeria’s neighbors forming a multinational force to confront the spreading Islamic uprising.

Chad’s President Idris Deby this week said his forces know the whereabouts of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and warned him to surrender or face death.

Boko Haram fighters are massing at their headquarters in the northeastern town of Gwoza, in apparent preparation for a showdown with multinational forces, according to witnesses who escaped from the town.

An intelligence officer said they were aware of the movement but that the military is acting cautiously as many civilians still are trapped in the town and Boko Haram is laying land mines around it.

Maiduguri is the capital of Borno state and the biggest city in northeastern Nigeria, the heart of an Islamic uprising that has killed about 12,000 people in nearly six years.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Fails To Get Censor Clearance

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ has failed to get a clearance for release from the censor board. Shravan Kumar, chief executive of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), said the producers of the movie have the option to appeal against the decision.

Mr. Kumar said the producers first approached the CBFC in January but then they rescheduled the examination twice, citing unavailability of content.

“It is out of the way for us because certification happens on first-come-first-serve basis. We finally viewed the film for examination on February 28 and the committee compiled its report and sent it to them. Their reply is awaited,” Kumar told PTI.

“It [the movie] did not pass but it is not unusual as many mainstream films don’t get clearance in the first step, people have the option to go for a revising committee’s opinion. The theme of the movie is such that it could not be cleared in the first viewing. In the second step a wider committee will review the film,” Mr. Kumar said.

Universal India declined to comment on the issue.

The movie, an adaptation of E.L. James’ novel trilogy, stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Forbes, yesterday, released its annual guide to that special class of rich people “the billionaires around the globe” for the year 2015.

Nigerian energy tycoon, Femi Otedola, has returned to the Forbes world richest list in 2015, after falling off in 2009.

Otedola, who returned to the Forbes Africa richest list in November, joined Africa’s richest, Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Folorunsho Alakija and Abdulsamad Rabiu to make the five Africans featured in the list of 1,826 individuals who made the list in 2015, up from 1,645 in 2014.

According to Forbes publication, Bill Gates remains the richest man in the world with a net worth of $79.2 billion, followed by Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu at No. 2 ($77.1 billion) and the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett ($72.7 billion), at No. 3.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly now the 16th richest man in the world, while the youngest billionaire in the world is 24-year-old Evan Spiegel, the co-founder of photo-messaging app, Snapchat.

A record 1,826 individuals made the list in 2015, up from 1,645 in 2014, with an average net worth of $3.86 billion, down a smidgen ($60 million) from last year. All told, the lucky few have a total net worth of $7.05 trillion, up from $6.4 trillion last year.

Forbes further revealed that this year’s biggest loser in dollar terms is Aliko Dangote of Nigeria, whose fortune dropped to $14.7 billion from $25 billion last year, propelled downward by a weaker Nigerian currency and shrinking demand for cement, his largest asset. He, however, still managed to retain his title of Africa’s richest man, posting a healthy $14 .7 billion (down from $25 Billion last year) and coming in at the 67th place on the list.

The number of billionaires under 40 shows the rise of the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the youths and globally.

Mike Adenuga, the chairman of Globacom and Conoil exploration, was ranked 393rd on the list with a fortune estimated at $4.2 billion, placing him as Nigeria’s second richest.

Folorunsho Alakija, who was at a time regarded as the richest black woman in the globe due to her interests in oil came in at 949th place with an estimated fortune of $1.9 billion. She is just one of two women billionaires in Africa.

The chairman of Forte Oil, Femi Otedola, came in as Nigeria’s fourth richest and was ranked 1,741 on the Forbes list with an estimated fortune of $1 billion, a position he shares with the chairman of the BUA Group, Abdulsmad Rabiu with an estimated net-worth of the same value ($1billion).

A total of 138 people dropped off the list this year, including the chairman of Heirs Holding, Tony Elumelu, and former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzo Kalu, both of whom were featured on the list last year but unfortunately did not make the cut this year.
