Kenya has confirmed its third case of Ebola, involving a 65-year-old woman who was already under quarantine as a primary contact of the earlier patients.

Travellers from 10 high-risk countries must complete a digital surveillance form before boarding and present a QR code on arrival. All flights from these countries face enhanced screening at Kenyan airports. By October 15, 2026, authorities had screened 685,027 people since the outbreak began in May.

Community members discovered in May 2026 that several graves had been disturbed, with the heads of buried bodies missing. Police later determined that at least nine graves had been affected in some reports.

Intelligence-led investigations led to the arrest of two brothers, Abu Jimoh and Ayo Jimoh, at about 5:00 a.m. on 8 October 2026 while they were allegedly digging graves at the cemetery. Thirty Years of Heartbreak Under the Madrid Lights

Some fixtures carry history like a weight on the shoulders. Tonight, under the lights of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, Manchester United walk into one of them.

The Atlético Madrid vs Manchester United clash is a Champions League league-phase Matchday 2 tie, and the numbers behind it are brutal for the visitors. Four competitive meetings. Zero United wins. For more than three decades, Atlético have been the team United simply cannot solve.

Every competitive meeting between these two has been a European knockout tie. Atlético have won two and drawn two, and the aggregate goal tally reads 6–2 in their favour. Atlético have never conceded more than one goal in a game against United, and United have never scored more than one against them.

The story began in autumn 1991, in the Cup Winners' Cup.

23 Oct 1991: Atlético 3–0 United, with Futre scoring twice and Manolo adding another.
6 Nov 1991: United 1–1 Atlético, Hughes for United and Schuster for Atlético. The Spaniards went through 4–1 on aggregate.

Friendlies have been mixed. United won 2–1 in Stockholm in August 2026, while Atlético won 1–0 in Oslo in 2022. But nobody in either dressing room will treat those as meaningful.

There is also a twist this time. Every previous clash was a two-legged knockout. Tonight is a single league-phase match, with no second leg to fight back in.

Current Form: Simeone's Surge vs Carrick's Crisis

Atlético Madrid: Flying at Home, Hungry in Europe

Diego Simeone's side arrive in superb domestic form. They sit second in La Liga after eight games, with six wins, one draw and one defeat, 19 points and a +10 goal difference. They have won their last four in all competitions, including a 2–1 derby victory over Real Madrid and a late 2–1 away win at Alavés.

Europe has been trickier. Atlético lost 2–1 at Liverpool on Matchday 1, with Marcos Llorente scoring first, and they sit near the bottom of the early table. They need points, and they are at the Metropolitano, where the atmosphere is a genuine weapon.

This also looks like a more expansive Atlético than the classic Simeone blueprint, with real attacking options to go with the famous defensive steel.

Manchester United: Pressure Building

Michael Carrick's team have had a difficult start to the season. United sit around 12th to 13th in the Premier League after six games, with just one win and their worst start in decades. The most recent frustration was a 1–1 home draw with Tottenham, where they failed to see out a lead against ten men.

There was one bright spot: a comfortable 4–0 home win over Sabah on Matchday 1, which has them in the top four of the early table. But that is their last competitive win, and it came against much weaker opposition.

Manchester United Injury News: A Squad Stretched Thin

This is where the tie could be decided before a ball is kicked. United's injury list runs to six or more players.

Atlético Madrid team news is far brighter. The squad is at or very close to full strength, with Oblak, Cristian Romero, Marcos Llorente, Álex Baena, Kang-in Lee, Julián Álvarez, Ademola Lookman and Alejandro Grimaldo all available. The one notable absence is Koke, who is expected to miss out following a family bereavement, and a minute's silence is planned. The distressing incident, which occurred late on April 29, 2026, has sparked concerns over banking security. According to the aggrieved customer, the massive transaction was executed without any One-Time Password (OTP) prompt or secure pass approval, despite both their phone and security token being securely in their possession.

The devastating loss has severely impacted the designer's business operations, as the missing funds were specifically earmarked for fulfilling clients' orders. Labeling the incident as a case of "pure fraud and gross negligence" on the bank's part, the business owner is urgently calling on regulatory and anti-graft agencies including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to intervene and facilitate an immediate refund.
