It took a few days, but it seems like the bidding war has finally started on this auction. At $460, the current bid is still significantly lower than last year’s final $1,500 bid, but —like the Bidding For Good website states— the estimated value of this date with Kyle MacLachlan is “priceless.” And don’t forget: the proceeds of the auction go to The Moth, a non-profit dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling.

If you don’t live in NYC, you have until May 2014 to arrange the date with the actor. It has to take place at Bubby’s Tribeca (New York, NY) though, and unlike last year, the highest bidder has to pay for his or her own food and drinks. Makes you wonder whether the previous winner went a little Dale Cooper on the coffee and pie?

The 8th annual David Lynchfest starts on Thursday, May 16th at 7 PM with the opening of the David Lynch inspired art show, followed by Black Lodge Karaoke. Then on Saturday starting at 9 PM sharp, there will be music from Badalamenti Project, New Mystikal Troubadours, New Shoes & Dan And Roseanne, as well as burlesque with Sophia Sunday, Sunny Sighed and Bal’d Lightning. Like every self-respecting David Lynch event, there will also be a costume contest (or: Miss Twin Peaks Pageant).

This diorama by Alix Tobey Southwick of Jimmy Scott singing Sycamore Trees is just one of the many art works that will be on display. Watch this space for more photos.

How does a David Lynch movie taste?

It might be a surreal and therefor very appropriate question, but David Lynch fans near London will actually be able to find out the answer. On June 6th 2013, The Artist Dining Room will host “an evening inspired by the multi-faceted surreal realm of artist, director, musician and Eagle Scout, David Lynch.”

The menu, carefully crafted by chef Matthew Phelps, includes Waldo’s Lament as a starter, Henry’s (Ir)regular Chickens and ‘I’m not an animal!’ (v) as the main courses and, what else, cherry pie and coffee (but backwards!) for dessert. The night will be hosted by suave Benjamin Louche of The Double R Club fame and will also feature Lynchian installations and performances.

Catherine E. Coulson (or “The Log Lady”) attended Antwerp Convention 2013 on April 28th 2013 where she was greeted by tons of Belgian Twin Peaks fans. For those who couldn’t attend the sci-fi, fantasy and horror fest in Belgium, the entire interview and Q&A with the actress was taped and uploaded to YouTube for our pleasure. Catherine talks about her career, her longtime friendship with David Lynch, how the character of the Log Lady came about, what she thinks is the secret of the ongoing popularity of Twin Peaks, and many other things.

At yesterday’s final Twin Peaks Series Retrospective Q&A organized by the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles, Jennifer Lynch stated once again that Twin Peaks was not coming back, and this came straight from her dad’s lips. That means she asked him and he definitely rejected the idea.

We know a lot of you would love to see a continuation of the show and that many fans would be willing to chip in. Even Netflix would. But the ultimate decision lies in the hands of David Lynch and Mark Frost. And today, we have the answers of both of them.

You can now uncross your fingers and imagine what happens next. After all, it is a continuing story.

But know this: you’re welcome anytime to fill the donut hole in your post-Peaks life!

And here’s to hoping Frost and Lynch team up and create something again!

As the current Chief Content Officer at Netflix, Ted Sarandos is responsible for the video streaming service’s venture into original programming such as House of Cards, Eli Roth’s Twin Peaks-influenced Hemlock Grove and the upcoming brand new season of Arrested Development. When asked whether Netflix would be interested in reviving and continuing the story of Twin Peaks, Sarandos responded with a very positive “Absolutely!”
