The sparkling enope squid (Watasenia scintillans), also known as the firefly squid, is a species of squid in the family Enoploteuthidae. It is the sole species in the genus Watasenia.

The sparkling enope squid is found in the Western Pacific ocean at depths of 183 to 366 metres (600–1200 feet) and exhibits bioluminescence. Each tentacle has an organ called aphotophore, which produces light. When flashed, these lights attract small fish, on which the squid can then feed.

This squid is the only species of cephalopod in which evidence of color vision has been found. While most cephalopods have only one visual pigment, firefly squid have three, along with a double-layered retina. These adaptations for color vision may have evolved to enable the firefly squid to distinguish between ambient light and bioluminescence.

The sparkling enope squid measures about 3 inches long at maturity and dies after one year of life. It has the standard eight arms and two tentacles, with one pair each having three, bright light-emitting organs at the tips.

The squid spends the day at depths of several hundred metres, returning to the surface when night falls. The combination of light-sensing and light-producing organs enable it to match its underside to the brightness and colour coming from the surface (counter-illumination), making it hard for predators from below to detect it.

As soon as winter begins, a team of snow builders, architects, designers and artists from all over the world gather in the little town of Jukkasjärvi far north of the Arctic Circle.

Under the direction of the ICEHOTEL Art & Design Group, they create each year’s version of ICEHOTEL.

The building process starts in mid-November when the snow guns start humming and large clouds of snow start to drift along the Torne River. The snow is sprayed on huge steel forms and allowed to freeze.

After a couple of days, the forms are removed, leaving a maze of free-standing corridors of snow.In the corridors, dividing walls are built in order to create rooms and suites. Ice blocks, harvested at springtime from Torne River, are now being transported into the hotel where selected artists from all over the world start creating the art and design of the persihable material.

Some of them are experienced ice artists, some of them have never experienced temperature below sub zero. Experienced or not, each year they create new and unique art and design at ICEHOTEL.To be able to create ICEHOTEL and ensuring its construction; provide support to the artists and setting the lights, the construction is done in several phases. As one section is completed, it opens to visitors and overnight guests, while the other sections are still under construction. Source

This Marble Cathedral it’s  located in Patagonia, Chile on the second largest freshwater ( plus the emerald-green to turquoise-blue waters) lake in Argentina, General Carrera.

Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Geologists use the term “marble” to refer to metamorphosed limestone; however stonemasons use the term more broadly to encompass unmetamorphosed limestone.
