Heard about this guy from a friend of a friend and I have to say he's pretty fckn' funny. lol I checked out his YouTube page and the guys had me in tears. I love the way he critiques games and other various topics in his videos. If you want a good laugh head over to YouTube and watch his videos. He's hilarious. lol He's also making a nice living from his YouTube career. He's a decent addition to the gaming community. Makes me wanna open up my YouTube account and get to work. Sony PlayStation 4 Press Conference

Ok so last night Sony confirmed what we pretty much already knew probably for the last two years. They're coming out with a PlayStation 4. I'm excited, we all should be excited as gamers. Heard some nice interesting key factors about the upcoming game console like the whole emphasis of cloud gaming and their collaboration with cloud gaming pioneers Gakai. The neat things were the nuances like your game system almost never being off, being able to leave a game and return to exactly where you left off from a standby or powered off mode, and being able to play a game as it downloads. Those were all neat features but I had one issue with the whole announcement. Where was the game console itself?

You know with the rumors of the PS4 being in the works for at least the last three years you would've those that they would've have something to show on that joyous occasion. They didn't have a form factor, no mock up, not even a card board cut, nothing. I was so hoping that they would've had just something. All we were left with was Kaz Hirai's sincerest apology. I'm not that upset over but still though. They took the time to talk about some of the games that were coming out for it but failed to show the "Real McCoy". It's sounds kind of backwards to me to show off the games before you show off the console. Oh well, hopefully they'll have something to show off at E3 this year. You Are Not Under Control - InFamous: Second Son PS4 Trailer

I watched Sony's PS4 announcement last night and they pretty much told us what we had already suspected. The PS4 is coming! Sooner than I actually thought. I should be here near the holidays this year. So gamers start saving up those dollars! Do some yard work, help an old lady across the street, or walk dogs if you wanna get in on the bid for a PS4. I don't normally do this but I think this year I'm gonna pre-order mine. I've never stood in line for a game system and I'm not gonna start now.

I hope with the release of the PS4 that this game will be available too, Infamous: Second Son by Sucker Punch Productions. This was the only game that caught my eye yesterday. I definitely wouldn't mind this being my first game. I might go ahead and try to save up for three games. This one will be one of them for sure. Take a look at the trailer.

Japan Debuts New Colors For PS3

I was checking out IGN and found out that the new super slim PS3 now have the new colors of red and blue. The colors have initially been released in Japan. No word on when they'll be available for the US, UK, and other countries. We've recently seen the release of the all white PS3, which is coming to the states, so its nice to see some new colors come through. Before people were just customizing the color sets themselves by having their own custom cases made. It's nice to see that Sony has thrown in some variety our way. I'm really digging that blue PS3. I think I might have to get it. The new colored systems will have the same specs of that of the black 250GB PS3 with matching colored PS3 Dual Shock controllers.

New Xbox 720 Specs

An End of An Era: PS2 Discontinued In Japan

I thought they were gonna do this a long time ago but the popularity of the PS2 prevailed even after the PS3 was released and even after the PS3 added PS2 game support for the original model. The system is officially dead in Japan as of today. As for the rest of the world the verdict is still out. To this day the PS2 has remained very popular. Even Madden Football games are still being made for the system. They might not look as great as it does on its PS3 successor but people are still buying it.

Sony is slowly following behind Microsoft and porting over a lot of the PS2 popular classics over to the PlayStation Network as digital downloads. If you can remember way back when, back in 2005, when the Xbox 360 was released, the original Xbox was almost as good as dead with a lot of the popular games showing up for download on Xbox Live. The PS2 was released back in 2000 and served as the highest selling home console ever to hit the market with 155 million units sold around the world. We're slowly entering the digital age. The PS2 is not totally officially gone yet. I'm sure if you really played on your nostalgic heart strings you could always get one off of Craigslist or Ebay.

So what do you think? Is this a long time coming or do you think that the PS2 should live for the rest of the world? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

GameSpot's Jess McDonell asks, "What kind of gamer are you?" Watch as she talks about the different types of gamers out there. I found out that I'm a completionist and a extrovert. What that means is I try to do everything that there is to do in a videogame. Makes sense. lol If I'm gonna by a game I'm gonna make sure that I've played the hell out of it. Passing The Buck: The NRA Blames Videogames For Real World Violence

With the recent events in Connecticut at the Sandy Hook Elementary videogames seem to be in the forefront. The NRA places blame on videogames for the cause of mass killings. Though it has long since been determined that there are no correlations with media/virtual violence and real world violence the gaming community still gets the blow back.

Now as I've stated before on this blog. I've played many a violent videogame and I've never had the urge to get up and actually kill someone. I've played tons of shooters and never had the inkling to actually shoot someone in cold blood let alone multiple people. I just don't have it in my heart to do something like that. And it would take a lot more than a videogame for me to do something as crazy as that. Hell, I've never even owned a gun in my life let alone even held one. So it's kind of odd for me to hear the NRA saying this.

Now I understand that the NRA is attempting to save face but to pass the buck towards videogames is a stretch. The truth of the matter is that there are people out there with ill intentions that use guns, not knives, not poles, not rocks, not hammers, not hardware tools, but plain old guns to kill people. That's an everyday fact. Now there are responsible gun owners out there that are apart of the NRA proudly as they should be but they fail to mention the many irresponsible people in the world that choose to use a gun as a last resort, final solution, or stop all end all.

The funny part of this particular matter is that the assailant that went on to commit the heinous crime to killing 27 innocent people is that we don't know even if he played videogames at all. You don't learn how to use a gun by playing a videogame. You learn how to use a gun by watching other people use guns. You learn how to get access to guns by watching other people get guns. So the excuse that videogames are the problem boggles my mind. It's almost a insult to the gaming community for the NRA to say that. If someone kills me in a game I'll get up and maybe get a bite to eat, maybe even a drink. The point is I live to shoot another day. If someone shoots me in real life, well I may not come back from that. There are no extra lives in the real world. Dead is dead out here.

To me people should have illegal access to guns and we definitely shouldn't have access to guns that are used my our military and law enforcement. Kids shouldn't be running around with an AK-47 on a residential street. What kind of sense does that make? This has a lot more to do than just videogames. Let's press start to find the real problem of whats going on in our streets so we can stop the abominations of mass killings and killing in general.

Dead Space 3 - Two Ways to Play Trailer

In Dead Space 3 there are two different ways to play the game. You can play in a single player campaign as Isaac Clarke or you can plays in a secondary campaign as Isaac Clarke and the constant dementia battled John Carver. This would mean that you would get two differenct outcomes in the game. I'm liking the continued playability factor there. Definitely more bang for your buck as they say. Take a look at the video.

The Phantom Pain Debut Trailer

I'm back, I'm back, I'm back!! I know its been a long while since I've had a decent routine of putting up post on this blog. It really been a long while. Well you know life happens and your priorities change a little bit. I never fully left though. I've been posting on my other blog, WeLoveGamez Noir, since its mainly focused around the art and media of gaming. There I don't do as much writing as I do on here. Check it out when you get a chance.

Today though I was browsing through GameSpot and found this game here that caught my eye. It's called Phantom Pain. The game is about a middle aged man who awakens from a coma and finds out that this arm is missing and he's blind in one eye. Now given the situation he doesn't have a lot of time to digest what's actually happened to him because there visions of supernatural apparitions floating about and unknown soldiers killing everyone in sight. It's a nice opening scene to a videogame.

The game is being developed by a new gaming studio dubbed Moby Dick Studios. Some people think the game is synonymous with Metal Gear Solid V given the likeness of the middle aged man to Big Boss and the soldiers featured in the game. There's a lot that can be derived from the video but nothing is certain. Take a look for yourself.
