It is famous for its resistance to fungal and beetle attack and will last many decades outside in all weathers.</div> <div>The sleeper and legs are planed and then sanded using more than one grit of sandpaper.</div> <div>Then using my 20+years of experience I have spent many hours carving the design into the front of the bench to create a truly unique piece of garden furniture. Although I may carve a similar bench in the future each design is drawn by hand making the most of the individual piece of wood and maing it a one off.</div> <div>Although I have hand picked the best individual pieces of air dried oak the bench may develop further character as it continues to dry. Any splitting and cracking will in my opinion enhance its appearance and add character . These will only be superficial and will not affect the structure in any way.</div> <div>With the passing of time, the bench will turn a more silver colour due exposure to sunlight. The extent of this will depend on where the bench is positioned although it may not happen for quite a while as the oil used to finish it contains a uv filter.</div> <div>The bench is comes ready oiled and although not vital, further applications in the future would enhance the grain and be beneficial.</div> <div>If you would like anything else carved onto a bench then please contact me as I am happy to do one off commissions including names and dates for memorial benches.</div> <div>Delivery time: I always endeavour to post within 2 weeks(I am often away for large parts of a week at craft shows)on rare occaisions it may be 3.
