This FREE tour will lead art enthusiasts through Killarney, Alban, Ouellette, Noëlville, West Arm, StCharles, Monetville, and Dokis First Nation. It will include the studios of artists and artisans creating:

This week-long course is open to beginners and advanced players from ages 6 and up who would like to learn the violin and experience playing in a group orchestra setting.

Learn fiddle and popular classical violin and explore the instrument’s history since its invention in the 16th century, including composers and instrument-making. Play with guest performers!

Pique Assiette-Style Mosaics

Cost: $85 (materials $70 with option to purchase nippers for $10)
Minimum: 5 students

All students will learn basic, solid mosaic-building techniques and will work on individual interior and exterior pieces to take home.

Students will be encouraged to experiment with recycled, mixed media, and alternative materials to create two different-sized flowerpots and an indoor item such as a small mirror or trinket box.

All materials are provided in the materials fee, but participants may choose to bring items from home to supplement or support their chosen designs. Each student should have some form of inspiration such as a photograph or drawing.

Veronica Dokis (Meegis Kwe) is from the Bear Clan. She is a 1st degree Midewiwin of the Three Fires Lodge. She lives in Dokis First Nation Territory.

Veronica has taught with the FRCIC for three years now and the courses are very popular. This year Meegis Kwe is teaching how to make Ojibway Medicine Bags and their purpose. Meegis Kwe’s courses fill up early, so register soon!
