Baldwin Lake – Fishing has improved in the past week. Catfishare being caught on a variety of live baits. Bluegill action hasbeen steady on small minnows. Bass action remains steady on softplastics. Crappie are slow.

Even at the age of 84, Lil Pihulak still has a flair for fishing on Rainy Lake. Back in July, for example, Pihulak hauled in four large walleye, ranging from 22-28 inches in length, over the course of about three hours.

Is It Me, or Is Walleye Fishing Rivaling Bass Fishing as Number One Now?

I’ve noticed walleye fishing has been getting very popular nowadays. Maybe even rivaling bass fishing. Your thoughts?
Not in costs, assortments of lures, etc. I mean the popularity. I’m not saying walleye are better than bass or anything it’s just that walleye fishing is boosting popularity quick. Pick up a fishing magazine. North American Magazine, Field & Stream etc. You’ll find that Walleye is quite popular now.
