Joe & Christa make a fantastic couple. Joe and Christa attend church with me in Hanford, CA, but their wedding was held in Christa's home town of Redlands, CA. Their wedding day was beautiful and filled with emotion. It was very special that I was able to be a part of it.

Christa made a gorgeous bride.

Joe and I have been friends since childhood. I'm so very happy he found a great wife.

As Joe and Christa made their way back down the aisle Christa handed Joe her flowers so she could hold her dress... I don't think I've ever seen a groom carry the bouquet down the aisle. :-D

This past December I got the chance to shoot some engagement pictures for my friends Joe and Christa. Joe and I have grown up together - our families attend the same church. I was blessed to meet Christa some time ago and I don't think there could be anyone more perfect for Joe. :-)

We went out to an orchard near the outskirts of Hanford for the engagement session. They rocked it! There was so much laughter during this shoot. Maneuvering through mud was tricky -we were constantly having to remove the mud and leaves from Christa's heels.

Stay posted for some fantastic images from their January, 23rd wedding. That's right. I'm officially a wedding photographer! You heard it here first. :-D

Senior portrait sessions are one of my favorite things to do. I like to have a lot of fun during the session. If you are graduating this year don't wait until the last moment to schedule your custom senior session. Also don't be afraid to come up with some ideas that reflect what you love to do... a place you love, a couple props that help define you.

Landry's Senior Portrait Session - Hanford Portrait Photographer

My younger brother Landry and I make a great team. He enjoys having his picture taken and he's so photogenic... how could I not enjoy photographing him? Just stay out of the room when he and I try to edit down the photos we captured to the final choices. :-P

We went all out for his Senior portrait session. Seems like there are always great places to take portraits in downtown Hanford. Some of the shots from Landry's CD cover shoot earlier this year were also taken there.

I met Chloe when we were both selected to tour with the WAY choir (Western All-state Youth Choir). I remember my first thought of Chloe was "Does she EVER talk?". That was three years ago. Now I know that she not only talks but is quite funny and very sweet. It was a lot of fun taking Chloe's senior pics and laughing about old choir memories. Best of luck to Chloe! For my birthday earlier this year my friends Carissa Lopez and Bethany Lopez came to visit, so we decided to have an impromptu photoshoot just for fun.

Even though these girls have the same last name, they are actually not related... in fact their last name is probably the only thing similar about these two.

So that was my challenge... a photoshoot for two completely different girls... at the same time. It was a blast! :-D

Angela - Senior Session

How could nearly everything Angela and I planned for this shoot go completely wrong... yet we STILL managed to get great shots!

First location planned: Orchard in full bloom... beautiful white and pink flowers just days before! Completely dead once we arrived.

Second location planned: Field of yellow flowers (albiet behind an old walmart building)... also completely dead upon our arrival.

SO we had to improvise... turns out the orchard was great even without the flowers, and how could it not be great with Angela's awesome smile....

I love the lighting in this picture!

and this last shot - taken in the walmart parking lot... but that'll be our little secret. ;-)

Senior Portaits - Jonathan Hernandez

A couple weeks back I got the opportunity to shoot some Senior Portriats for Jonathan. I didn't realize it, but I had already photographed Jonathan's sister's tennis team. It was cool to see that picture on the coffee table when I went over to show proofs. We went out to the courthouse square in Hanford... one of my favorite spots to shoot. This was my first official outing with my new Canon speedlite 580Ex II so I'm still learning how to manage working with off-camera flash. Here are some of the shots we got.

Here is a brochure I designed for my church's Bus Ministry launch on Feb. 14. This was a lot of fun to do and I think that shows through in the design. Here are three cd cover designs that I've come up with. I took the pictures and did the design. The first photo was taken during a different shoot than the others with available light. The others were today with my new Canon Speedlite 580EX II. Let me know which one is your favorite!

Identity Design - Western District Home Missions

I have recently had the privilege of being able to do a complete identity design for Western District Home Missions. This department's primary focus is planting new churches and supporting Pastors in new churches (home missionaries). I am thrilled with how this identity design has turned out. I had fiddled around with different logo ideas, but hadn't found anything I liked, but then I had the idea to make a cross between the "d" and the "h" (if you hadn't noticed it yet look again). I love to put little things like that in the white space of a logo... it makes the mark mean so much more to me. For example the hidden arrow between the "E" and the "x" of the FedEx logo. I love that! :)

HIV/AIDS Brochure Design - Kings Behavior Health

This is an informational brochure that I worked on for Kings County Behavioral Health. The idea of this brochure was to provide information that would apply to every age group, ethnicity, and demographic affected by HIV/AIDS, and specifically highlight statistics in Kings County. It is great to be involved in a campaign that promotes awareness of this terrible disease, it's prevention, and treatment. **Please be aware, the text contains some explicit language about how HIV/AIDS is spread.

New Projects! First 5 Six Signature Services Promo

Over the last several weeks I've been working on some promotional pieces for First 5 Kings County's new "Six Signature Services". The services are all free and available a local Family Resource Centers. The first project was a window decal, poster, and table tent for an launch event at the Hanford Mall. Each piece had an accompanying Spanish version with inverted colors.

Next were a set of several flyers to promote each individual "signature service". The challenge with these was to combine the look and feel of the First 5 Six Signature Services campaign with the look and colors of the individual businesses and local organizations who are providing the services. Each flyer also had to have a blank space for a label/imprint so each Family Resource Center could attach their own information.

I'm happy with the results over all and I'm excited that this got so much exposure!

Album Art Design - Jonathan Moore

A couple months ago I was given the opportunity to design the album art for the rerelease of Jonathan Moore's "Healing Waters" project. I had a lot of fun playing with the color and using texture. I'm very pleased with the results. :)

Grand Opening! The Studio is FINISHED!

I know I didn't do too good of a job at logging the studio's progress, but why read every chapter when you can just skip to the end, right? So basically, the studio is finished and ready to record! We recently attached all the sound treatments to the walls and hooked up all the equipment. We also just added a Neumann microphone to our mic line-up. Everything sounds amazing! I am SO excited! Here are some promotional pics for the studio. I LOVE the color and the carpet! :)
