Westport kids between the ages of 5 and 17 are invited to attend The Mikado Operetta at the Pequot Library in Southport.

This concert is part of the 2008 Free Young Persons’ Concert series and is presented by Music for Youth and the Pequot Library.

No tickets are required but seating is first come, first served.

Instruments for budding musicians in Westport Connecticut can cost a pretty penny – especially if there is more than one child in the family. So, the Music Parents Association of the Fairfield High Schools is holding an instrument consignment sale.

Today was the last day of school in Westport Connecticut! The kids are excited and the parents – well, it’s a mixed bag. I know that I am now filling in the blanks, if you will.

My kids are already registered for the camps/activities that they really wanted to do. But there are still large chunks of free time in their schedules. Now it is a fine balance between over and under scheduling. But I don’t want the summer to turn into a video game free for all. So I figure a little scheduled activity that gets us out and about is a good thing.

I will be mentioning some good, local, summer camp options in and about Westport Connecticut over the next few days. If you know of or run a program that still has space available – I would be happy to give it a shout, just contact me using my contact page. Pinnocchio: The Musical is coming to a town near Westport Connecticut! Presented by the Connecticut Family Theatre and Sacred Heart University’s Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts Pinocchio: The Musical is a wonderful show for children of all ages.

Taking place at the Hurlbutt Elementary School in Weston Connecticut on Saturday May 24 to Monday May 26, 2008, the Weston Memorial Day Fair has something for everyone. There will be rides, games, and lots of eats! Hours of operation are 12:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday and 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Monday.

While admission is free, you must purchase ride tickets for each attraction.
