Cell Group Chinese New Year Dinner

Our cell group had our reunion dinner at this Seafood 21 eating place at Hougang Blk 212. It my first time there and it's full that day. We had 3 tables and we ordered the set menu for 8 persons per day.

Singapore Botanic Garden

We went to Singapore Botanic Garden today. It was inconvenient to go before the Circle Line station was opened. Now we have another good place to go!

The bamboo trees are very beautiful and exotic!

Foreign workers enjoying their day off under a big tree. We noticed that usually the local Singaporeans do not do picnic, instead they usually go shopping, dining out at restaurant or go watch movies.

One of my dreams is to have a large house which I can keep a few welsh corgi and gold retrievers and bring them to walk daily.

Chinese New Year Day 1

I went to my parents in law's house for Chinese New Year visitation after visiting my parents. My dear's parents prepared very delicious lunch today! This new year is a rainy one. It rained in the evening daily. While waiting for rain to stop, we watched The Last Air Bender. Nice special effect but I find the story line boring.

This smoked duck is tasty that I can't believe it's frozen food.

Bedok Point

We went to Bedok Point for the first time. Found that the mall is actually quite small. I think it is just nice size for the residents here. We ate at Manhanttan Fish Market. The herbal baked fish is nice!

We love their chilli, the one at the bottom left of the picture above. Don't know what is the name of this type of chilli?

In the evening we went for a jog and passed by the Sengkang Fire Station.

Republic Polytechnic

I ate breakfast at Republic Polytechnic. This pasta at the south canteen was nice!

The minimalistic look of the polytechnic is clean and neat. I like simple design and also love white colour.

Sun light going through the full length windows look nice with the row of white chairs.

I saw this interesting looking building. Wonder what is inside?

I noticed a lot of items are white, my favourite colour.

Saturday Exercise

Today, we went for a jog/brisk walk at Punggol Park at 1030am. It was super hot today! As I was walking along the pond, I noticed the reflection of the clouds on the water, making the picture looked like water colour style painting!

In the afternoon, we went for lunch at Pepper Lunch and then we went to Millenia Walk to walk walk. We found that there weren't many people over here. Nice! As we don't like crowds. There are many interesting shops here like the 7 Japanese restaurants, Octa Hotel and many nice mini shops within a larger shop. There is also this Pullman Bakery from Hokkaido. I bought 3 buns and yet to eat, so can't comment on the taste.

Reunion dinner at Swa Garden

We had our reunion dinner at Swa Garden along MacPherson Road. When I reached my parents' house, I saw this cute cat sleeping. So sweet!

The food at Swa Garden is really tasty! This is the fish maw soup

The fried crayfish is very nice!

This is my favourite. The goose meat! =)

This grouper is extremely tasted. I got a shock when I paid the bill to know that the fish cost $70. My wife told me it was the normal price at this time.

This is a vegetarian dish.

As we walked along MacPherson Road to Tai Seng MRT station, we saw this church which has interesting LED lights of the cross with stars around it. Wonder what's the name of this church?

M1 iPhone 4S Non Camera

One of the reasons I resigned from DSTA is I am unable to use iPhone there. I love to use iPhone very much and found it to be extremely useful and a joy to use. If this news that M1 is offering iPhone 4S non camera version came that time when I was about to resign, I might re-consider staying.

However, now, thinking back, after I have used iPhone in my new job coming to one year soon (in few months' time), I found the camera is extremely useful! And I enjoy photography using iPhone's camera, which I used daily. Now my shutter count coming to 2,000!

I have Netscape Navigator browser on my Mac! The "N" logo brings back so much memories of my first Internet experience many years ago. The first time I used Internet was when I just graduated from polytechnic. Still remember that time my ISP was Pacific Internet using dial-up 9600 modem.

Kitchen 1.0

We are considering revamping our kitchen in March 2012. Here's how Kitchen 1.0 look. Kitchen 1.8 will include upgrading the table top, bottom cabinets, stove, hood and sink. If the revamp includes the top cabinets, then it will be Kitchen 2.0. Hee.

First jog of 2012

After having breakfast at Koufu, we went for our first jog of 2012 at Punggol Park!

Then we went the exercise area at another cluster of HDB flats. Found this cute whale playground and it even have a rockable pirate ship.

The environment is very nice, right?

We had a wonderful lunch at Olio Dome Cafe....

Chinese New Year decorations are all up! Less than a month to it...

We were bored in the afternoon, so we went to Plaza Singapura for an aimless walk and date. I like aimless walkabout but my dear hate it! Haha. We took a break at MOS Burger. it had been ages since we stepped into one and I found that the corn soup now come this bread thingy.

We had our dinner at Crystal Jade. Each of us had a different type of soup. Hers was fungus and mine was ginseng chicken. We wished the soups were slightly less oily.

My dear bought me a short-sleeve shirt to wear on Fridays and for new year too!
