Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are not the favorite card most people like to create but, unfortunately, they are necessary at times. Today's card is based on the Sunday Stamps Challenge #200.

Card Base: Whisper White CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2": score at 4-1/4". I was going to emboss the front of the card but was unable to run it through the Big Shot without bending the fold. Instead, I took a piece of Whisper White CS cut at 4-1/8" x 5-3/8", embossed it with the Tufted Embossing Folder and added it to the card front. I added two thin strips of Berry Burst CS to a piece of Needlepoint Nook DSP and attached it to the tufted layer.

Sentiment: Using two adjacent Rectangle Stitched Framelits on one piece of Berry Burst CS gave me the lovely stitched frame. I then cut a piece of Whisper White CS using the larger of the two framelits. I stamped the word "with" using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and Blushing Bride ink on the white CS. In order to ink up just the "with", I used my Blushing Bride marker. I then attached the Berry Burst frame onto the stamped sentiment. Before attaching the layer to the card with Dimensionals, I added some Silver Metallic Thread to the right side of the layer. The word sympathy was cut from Blushing Bride CS attached to a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet using the Well Written Framelits and attached to the sentiment layer.

Finishing Touch: The Balmy Blue Dark Blend was used to color some Pearls that were then added to the centers of some of the flowers and to the sentiment.

This card was very quick to put together. It's a great sketch that could be used with so many stamps and papers.

A Seagull Birthday

Happy Wednesday. Today's card is a birthday card using the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #312.

Card Base: Soft Suede CS cut 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2".

Image Layer: Whisper White CS cut 4" x 5-1/4". Using a Sponge Brayer I added "sand" at the bottom with Sahara Sand ink. The Stamparatus was used to stamp the water image from the High Tide stamp set using Bermuda Bay and Balmy Blue inks. The seagulls in the water and in the air were stamped with Memento Black ink. Shaded Spruce ink was used to stamp the grasses. I like to use the Stamparatus just in case I need to stamp again for a sharp image. When using the Stamparatus, I also like to use Stampin' Spots. I get the uninked ones and ink them up with ink refills. They're great for inking up stamps on the Stamparatus.

Sentiment: The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set was done using Soft Suede ink.

Inside: I added one of the grass images to the inside using Shaded

Spruce ink. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink.

A Winter Happy Birthday

Today's card is a winter birthday card for my younger son. I really like this stamp set and dies and it's so versatile for many different occasions. I used the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #375 for my inspiration. My interpretation is a little different since I moved the one element to the bottom next to the sentiment.

Card Base: Basic Gray CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". A piece of Smoky Slate CS was run through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling EF. The sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set was heat embossed (not very straight) using Versamark and Silver Embossing Powder. The layer was attached to the card front.

Images: The evergreen tree from the Winter Woods stamp set was stamped on Whisper White CS using Call Me Clover Ink. Using the In The Woods Dies, I first cut out the tree and then using the more detailed die, I cut it again to get the pop-out branches. By stamping on Whisper White CS, it looks like there is snow on the branches when it's cut out. Before adding the tree to the card front using Dimensionals, I added glue dots and attached some Silver Metallic Thread to the side of the tree. The pine cone and pine branches from the Winter Woods stamp set were stamped with Basic Gray and Call Me Clover ink and cut out using the In The Woods Dies. They were attached using Glue Dots.

The Finishing Touch: Clear Wink of Stella was added to the pine cone.

The Big 6

Happy Saturday everyone. It has been quite some time since I posted but we moved in early October (from New York to Connecticut). We have spent a lot of time unpacking boxes, finding our way around and then the holidays arrived so I didn't have much time for card making. But my sweet granddaughter, who is one of the reasons we moved to Connecticut, just turned 6 and I had to make a card for her. I was inspired by a card I found on Kelly Kent's blog here. I am also adding it to the Stampin' Up! Only Challenge #215 - birthdays.

Card Base: Shimmery White CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; scored at 5-1/2". I added a piece of Pool Party CS that was embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder and cut out with one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.

Mermaid: To cut all the pieces of the mermaid, I used the Fox Builder Punch and the retired Owl Builder Punch. If you check out Kelly Kent's blog, she has a template of all the pieces you need. Lovely Lipstick CS was used for her tail, fin and "private" coverage. Early Espresso was used for her hair and Soft Suede was used for her eyes and mouth. Very Vanilla CS was used for the face, body, and arms. I also used Silver Glimmer Paper for the other piece of her coverage. After putting all the pieces together, I added her to the card with Dimensionals.

Sentiment: I cut four happys from the Well Written Framelits using Lovely Lipstick CS, attached them together with Multipurpose Glue and added it to the card front. I then added the number 6 that was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper using the retired Large Number Framelits.

The Finishing Touches: Using the Dark Lovely Lipstick Blend I colored a Rhinestone and added it to her "outfit". Additional Rhinestones were added to her hair and waist. Clear Wink of Stella was added to her hair for a little extra bling. A few Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins were also added since my granddaughter loves glimmer and shine.

This was a fun card to create for her. She enjoyed it and even said the mermaid looks like her. I guess she meant the dark hair and eyes; she doesn't have a tail or fin. I hope you enjoyed today's card. If you did, leave me a comment. Have a wonderful weekend. See you soon.

Blessings in Blue

I'm back with another clean and simple card. We will be moving to Connecticut late next month and I have started packing things up. That leaves me with a limited supply of crafty items to use so I think clean and simple will be my norm. I challenged myself with these two challenges: CAS(e) this Sketch #286 and ABC Christmas Challenge - p, q, and r. I chose P for plain.

Card Base: Night of Navy CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4"

Sentiment Layer: On a piece of Shimmery White CS, I heat embossed the frame and the sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set using Versamark, Night of Navy ink and Clear Embossing Powder. I used the Stamparatus for this, first stamping with Versamark and then stamping over that with the Night of Navy. Then it was heat embossed. The Stamparatus insures that the stamping lines up each time. This layer was then added to the card.

The Finishing Touch: The little stars from the Starlight Thinlits were cut from retired dazzling diamonds glimmer paper. I attached one of the smaller stars to the larger one using 4 Glue Dots and attached it to the card with Glue Dots. The other two were attached separately. It's hard to see the shimmer on the card stock and the glimmer paper but it adds just the right amount of sparkle.

The Inside: I stamped another sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set inside using Night of Navy ink. I added a couple more die cut stars.

A Bright Birthday

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a great weekend. Since I was awake so early today, rather than lay there trying to go to sleep, I figured I could do something creative. I came up with this clean and simple card inspired by a few challenges: Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #296; Seize the Birthday Challenge - anything goes; TIME OUT Challenege #116.

Card Base: Whisper White Thick CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2".

Image Layer: Using the Stamparatus, I stamped the image from the Vertical Greetings stamp set. What I did was first stamp the

stem using the Granny Apple Green Marker. I then used the Blueberry Bushel Marker to color the pot and the center flower. Daffodil Delight Marker was used to color the last two flowers. This layer was matted with Granny Apple Green CS and attached to the card.

Sentiment Layer: I again used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment on Shimmery White CS using Granny Apple Green ink. This layer was also matted with Granny Apple Green CS and added to the card.

The Finishing Touches: The little bow was made using some retired 1/8" sheer whisper white ribbon and added to the flower pot with a Glue Dot. I didn't want to leave the sentiment unadorned, so I added a few Rhinestones for some sparkle.

As I said a very clean and simple card that took very little time to create. It's the start of another week, so enjoy and be creative.

Happy Monday everyone. For you today I have a card inspired by the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #303.

Card Base: Crumb Cake CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2". Added a layer of Crushed Curry CS.

Image Layer: On a piece of Wood Textures DSP, I stamped the big wood image from the Rooted in Nature stamp set using Crumb Cake ink. I chose the lightest of the dsp sheets so the image would show up. Using some Copper Metallic Thread, I made some loops on the image using Glue Dots to hold them in place.

Leaves: I made a variety of leaves using the Nature's Roots Framelits and the Rooted in Nature stamp set. There are some embossing dies in this set so I used one on Cajun Craze CS and then cut it out with the matching die. I stamped the stem with leaves on Granny Apple Green CS using Granny Apple Green ink and cut that out with the matching die. On Crushed Curry CS I stamped another leaf using Cajun Craze ink and cut it out with its matching die. They were attached to the card with Glue Dots.

Sentiment: I heat embossed the sentiment from the Banners for You stamp set on Granny Apple Green CS using Versamark and Copper Embossing Powder. It was punched out with the Classic Label Punch. I added a piece of Burlap Ribbon across the card and attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

It's a Dog's Life

Aren't dogs the best? And this little puppy is so adorable I knew I had to use him for the Festive Friday Challenge #0014 and the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #396.

Card Base: Whisper White Thick CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2". Rounded the corners of a piece of Tranquil Textures DSP (great patterns and colors) and attached it to Fresh Fig CS. I wrapped a piece of Crumb Cake Nature's Twine around the layer twice and added it to the card front.

Image Layer: Stamped the puppy from the Bella and Friends stamp set on a piece of Whisper White Thick CS using Black Memento Ink. I used light and dark Crumb Cake,

light and dark Mint Macaron and Bronze Blends to color the dog. He was cut out using the Layering Circles Dies and matted with a piece of Fresh Fig CS cut out with the Stitched Shapes Dies. Dimensionals were used to add him to the card.

The Finishing Touches: Added multiple layers of Clear Wink of Stella to the heart on the puppy's collar. For a little something extra, I added some Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins on the dsp.

I left the sentiment off the front but used the "thank you" sentiment from the same stamp set on the inside.

Night Owl Thank You

When I saw this bundle in the new holiday catalog, I knew it would one of my first choices. I've always loved owls and used to collect them. For inspiration, I used two challenges: The Paper Players Challenge #405 and Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #350.

Card Base: Pumpkin Pie CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". Added a layer (4-1/8" x 5-3/8") of So Saffron CS embossed using the Woodland embossing folder. Attached to card with fast fuse. Added a strip of Mango Melody CS on the embossed layer.

Image: Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the owl from the Still Night stamp set on a piece of

Whisper White CS using a So Saffron ink spot. (I bought some of the uninked spots, added reinker to them and use them mostly with the Stamparatus). I then cleaned the stamp and used the Mango Melody marker to selectively add ink to the chest and around the eyes and stamped over the owl. After cleaning the stamp again, I used the Pumpkin Pie marker to color the feathers, eyes and beak and stamped again. The owl was cut out using the Night Owl Thinlits. I cut the branch out three times from Sahara Sand CS using the same thinlits and attached them together using Multipurpose Glue. This gives the branch added dimension and stability. I then attached the branch using small pieces cut from the edges of the Mini Dimensionals sheet. I used double Dimensionals to attach the owl.

Sentiment: I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set on So Saffron CS using Pumpkin Pie ink. It was cut out with the Classic Label Punch and sponged around the edges with Sahara Sand ink. I attached it to the card using double Mini Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touches: I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the owl's eyes and beak. I also added a few Sahara Sand Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins.

This is a great stamp set and dies; hopefully it doesn't get "lost" in the new catalog. Have a great weekend; be safe and be blessed.

Make a Wish

Today I have a birthday card with some shine. For some inspiration, I used the Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge #373. The sketch was turned and the elements were moved around a bit but I really enjoyed the sketch.

Card Base: Gray Granite CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4" on long side. Added a layer of Whisper White CS that was run through the Big Shot using the Subtle EF. Oooh, do I like that folder. On a piece of Gray Granite CS I heat embossed the sentiment from the Broadway Birthday stamp set using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. I matted the strip with Basic Black CS and attached it to the card.

Image Layer: I cut out a piece of Broadway Bound DSP using the Layering Circle Framelits. From Basic Black CS I cut a scalloped circle from the same framelits and matted the dsp circle. It was attached to the card with Dimensionals.

Sentiment: The wish was cut from Gold Foil using the Broadway Lights Framelits. Before cutting it out I backed the foil with a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. I then cut out three more sentiments from Basic Black CS adding adhesive sheets to two of them, I layered the gold sentiment with the three black sentiments, adding the one without the adhesive as the last layer. I did that because I wanted to pop up the sentiment. Foam Adhesive Strips were used to do that. I layered the dot over the "i" the same way and used a rolled up Glue Dot to attach that.

The Finishing Touch: To add a little more shine, I added three Gold Faceted Gems.

Tropical Congratulations

This card was sent to congratulate someone on getting a new job. I love this stamp set and dies. And since my favorite color is green, the designer paper is a big hit with me.

Card Base: I used a Whisper White note card for the base. The sentiment from the Best Birds stamp set was heat embossed using Shaded Spruce ink, Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. The Stamparatus came in handy here because I had to first stamp the sentiment with the ink and then with Versamark right on top of that. Great tool!!. The die cut was cut from Granny Apple Green CS using the Tropical Thinlits. I cut a square from the Tropical Escape DSP, attached it to the back of the die cut and added it to the card front.

Leaves. Frond & Flowers: I added a piece of Shaded Spruce CS to a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet, cut it out with the die from the Tropical Thinlits and attached it to the card. On Granny Apple Green CS I stamped the center of one leaf with Shaded Spruce ink and cut the leaf out with a die. The other leaf was cut from Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green CS using two of the dies, attached them together and added it to the card. The first leaf was popped up with Dimensionals. I stamped the flower from the Tropical Chic stamp set on Whisper White CS using Blushing Bride ink, cut them out with the matching die and used Dimensionals to attach them to the card.

The Finishing Touches: Added some Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers. Rhinestones were added to the center of each flower for a little more sparkle.

I'm hoping to send more cards for occasions other than birthday, Christmas, holidays, etc. It's fun to send a surprise greeting to someone. Hope you're having a good week. Have a safe and blessed day.

Words that Comfort

Happy weekend. Today's card is meant to comfort and inspire. I used the AAA Challenge #118 - use a frame .

Card Base: Flirty Flamingo CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2".

Frame Layer: From a piece of Soft Sea Foam CS I cut an oval using the Layering Ovals Framelits. Using the Soft Sea Foam layer, I drew a few little lines to mark where the sentiment should be placed on the card base. I then ran the Soft Sea Foam CS through the Big Shot using the Tufted EF. The frame was made from Flirty Flamingo CS using one of the Layering Ovals Framelits and a larger Stitched Shapes Framelit.

Sentiment: The sentiment is a two step sentiment from the Papertrey Ink Phrases & Praises stamp set. It was stamped using Mossy Meadow and Soft Sea Foam inks. The Stamparatus came in handy for lining it up just right. I cut it out using one of the Layering Ovals Framelits that was the next size larger than the oval cut out of the Soft Sea Foam. I added the sentiment to the card base using the lines I drew as a guide so it would be in the right place for the cut out opening. The frame was added to the tufted layer and that layer was added using Foam Adhesive Strips.

The Finishing Touches: I sponged Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and set it aside to dry. Be sure it is completely dry because ink will end up all over your fingers (found out the hard way). After it was dry, I made a bow and attached it with Glue Dots to the bottom of the frame. I added a Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequin to the knot of the bow. And "bingo", we have a winner.

Colorful Blooms

Happy Saturday!! Today's anniversary card is another late card I'll be sending to my younger son and daughter-in-love. I am determined to get all my cards created and mailed this year, even if they're sent late. I'm hoping they enjoy getting the wishes even if late. Here are the details.

Card Base: Pool Party CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2". I embossed the front of the card with the Layered Leaves EF, I wrapped the Silver and White Baker's Twine around the card three times, tying it in a bow on the side.

Image Layer: The beautiful stamp from the Accented Blooms stamp set was stamped on Whisper White Thick CS with Memento Black Ink. The flowers and leaves were colored in with the light and dark Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party Blends. I used the Bronze Blend for the centers of some flowers. The corners of the layer were rounded with the Envelope Punch Board. The image layer was matted with Calypso Coral CS that I rounded the corners of also. Dimensionals were used to attach it to the card.

Sentiment: I stamped the sentiment from the Best Birds stamp set on Daffodil Delight CS with Memento Black Ink and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. Pool Party and Calypso Coral CS were also punched out with the same punch. The three pieces were layered and staggered. I used Dimensionals to attach it to the card.

The Finishing Tou ch: Added some retired Metallic Enamel Shapes for a little extra pop.

Birthday at the Beach

Welcome friends. My card today is for an old friend who moved south to Hilton Head. I wanted it to reflect a lovely birthday spent relaxing on the beach. I wouldn't mind that myself. For today's card I used the Festive Friday Challenge #FF0009 - father's day and/or die cut and Seize the Birthday - beachy birthday. Since my father's day cards are finished, I opted for the die cuts.

Card Base: Pineapple Punch CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4".

Image Layer: For the beach sand, I used a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set and stamped on the bottom of a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White CS with Sahara Sand ink a number of times, stamping off first. The water was stamped using Balmy Blue ink and the water stamp from the

High Tide stamp set. The sky was sponged with Balmy Blue ink working from off the cardstock so I wouldn't get big "splotches". The sea gulls (I think they're sea gulls) and grass from the same stamp set were stamped using Black Memento and Call Me Clover inks.

Die Cuts: I stamped the sun from the retired Sunshine and Rainbows stamp set on Pineapple Punch CS using Pineapple Punch ink and cut it out using the matching die from the retired Rainbow Builders Framelits. Glue Dots were used to attach it to the card. The clouds were cut from Shimmery White CS using the Up and Away Thinlits and attached with Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals. The Adirondack chair was cut from Lovely Lipstick CS with the Seasonal Layers Dies. I cut the edges from the Dimensionals into strips to add the chair to the card.

Sentiment: On a piece of Vellum CS, I stamped the sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set using Black Memento Ink. It was added to the chair with liquid glue before I added the chair to the card.

The Finishing Touch: Finished it off by adding some Clear Wink of Stella to the sun.

And She Did

Hi all. My card today is, believe it or not, a graduation card. It is for our niece who recently received her degree, all while being a wife, mom and working. We are very proud of her and wanted to let her know that when you put your mind to something you can accomplish anything. I used a couple of sketches as inspiration: CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #273 (sketch) and Festive Friday #0008 - wine day and/or watercolor.

Card Base: Soft Sky CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4". On a piece of Whisper White CS, I stamped the cloud image from the This Little Piggy stamp set using Soft Sky ink, added Clear Wink of Stella to the clouds and added it to the card front.

Image Layer: Stamped the image from the This Little Piggy stamp set on Whisper White CS using Black Memento Ink. Light and dark Pink Pirouette and Smoky Slate Blends were used to color the image. I'm still working on my coloring skills using the blends (or any coloring tool for that matter). I cut

the image and Smoky Slate mat out using the Layering Squares Framelits. The Pink Pirouette mat was cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. After layering these all together I popped it up on the card using Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touch: A bow made from Silver Bakers Twine was added to the corner with Glue Dots.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside but I stamped the rest of the sentiment ("and she did") plus the word congratulations from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I also added a few more clouds. This is such a fun stamp set to work with.

I know, Christmas?!!! I didn't plan on a Christmas card but I found some challenges that motivated me. Plus, it doesn't hurt to get a jump on that busy holiday. The challenges I chose are: TGIF Challenge #159 - sketch, Merry Monday Challenge #290 - bell, and ABC Christmas Challenge - J for joy / K for keep it simple. Here's the how to.

Card Base: Shimmery White CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2". As you can see, I flipped the sketch. At the top I stamped one of the pine boughs from the Christmas Pines stamp set on both corners using Old Olive ink. I then used the other bough in the stamp set and stamped over the first one using Lemon Lime Twist.

Bell & Bow: On Gold Foil CS, I heat embossed

a bell from the Seasonal Bells stamp set using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder. It was punched out using the Bell Punch. The bow was cut from the Pretty Pines Thinlits and glammed up with some Clear Wink of Stella. I used some old gold elastic to "hang" the bell from the bow using Glue Dots. The bow was attached with Glue Dots and the bell with Dimensionals.

Sentiment: Since I didn't have the word joy by itself in any stamp set, I used the word enjoy from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, cut it out of Gold Foil CS, trimmed off the e and n, and attached "joy" to the card with Glue Dots.

The Finishing Touch: Added a Gold Metallic Enamel Shape to the knot of the bow for a little more shine.

Birthday in Pink

Today I have a birthday card inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge and the Festive Friday Challenge #007. I'm so bad at getting cards mailed on time; this one will almost make it.

Card Base: Very Vanilla Thick CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4".

Sentiment Layer: The sentiment from the Balloon Celebration stamp set was heat embossed using Versamark and Black Embossing Powder. Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon was added along two sides. On Powder Pink CS, I stamped three of the images from the

Paisleys & Posies stamp set with Berry Burst ink. The were cut out with the Paisley Framelits and added to the card with Glue Dots. The layer was attached to the card with Fast Fuse.

The Finishing Touches: A bow made from the Berry Burst 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was added to one of the cut outs. Three Glitter Enamel Dots were added for a little bling.

Birthday for a Gentleman

I needed a masculine birthday card in a hurry and found the Sunday Stamps Challenge #176 had a great sketch. This card is easy to make and has a really clean and simple look.

Card Base: Crushed Curry CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". Added pieces of True Gentleman DSP.

Sentiments: On Very Vanilla CS I embossed the "happy" sentiment from the Celebrations Duo Embossing Folders and added the layer to the card. The "birthday" sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set was stamped on Crushed Curry CS. Since I just needed the word birthday I colored just that word with a Night of Navy marker and stamped it. I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out the sentiment. Loops of Linen Thread was added to the back of the sentiment. It was attached to the card with Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touch: Three Metallic Enamel Shapes were added to the birthday sentiment for a little embellishment.

Paper Pumpkin - March Makeover

The March Paper Pumpkin included products to complete note cards and envelopes. Since I mail most cards that I create, I knew I wouldn't be using the envelopes but I did not want them to go to waste. So I cut the envelopes open and used the insides as designer paper, one of the flaps was used on a card and I fussy cut some of the roses on the front of the envelopes. I used all the note cards and in order to use most of the products in the box, I created some regular size cards using the following additional products: Powder Pink, So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Lemon Lime Twist and Fresh Fig card stocks; Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon; Lemon Lime Twist 1/8" Ombre Ribbon; Pearls; Glitter Enamel Dots; Clear Wink of Stella; retired Gold Wink of Stella; some random rhinestones I had in my stash. Below are more of the cards I created.

Needless to say, it got challenging after a while to come up with a different idea for each card but at least most of the products didn't go to waste. Thanks for stopping by. Winter hasn't left us yet in the Northeast but I am hoping the next week brings a turnaround. Enjoy the weekend.

Seven Already!!

Hi all. My niece's daughter just turned 7. She is a smart and talented little girl. She is an animal lover, just like her mom, so I thought this adorable panda would make a cute card. I used the Try Stampin' On Tuesday Challenge #360 for my inspiration.

Card Base: Sahara Sand CS cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". Added a piece of retired dsp (don't remember the name). On top of that is a piece of retired Mint Macaron CS. Each end of a strip of Melon Mambo CS was clipped and then added to the card.

Image Layer: I stamped the panda with the balloon from the Party Pandas Stamp Set with Black Archival Ink on Whisper White CS. Before stamping I covered the balloon and string so they wouldn't stamp. I cut this out using the Layering Squares Framelits. I made a frame for the image using Crushed Curry CS and the Layering Squares Framelits using a regular square and a scalloped square. The image was attached to a larger piece of Whisper White CS and the frame added. I attached it to the card with Dimensionals. I cut a rectangle shape from the same dsp, added thin strips of Melon Mambo and a bow cut using the Christmas Stocking Thinlits. It was added with Mini Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touch: Crushed Curry hearts from the Regals Enamel Shapes were added to say we love you.

Finally, Card #3

This is the third card for the couple with their anniversary and birthdays on the same day. I used the SUO Challenge #196 - Spring and Time Out Challenge #105. Tulips make me smile, maybe because they say spring has actually arrived. Read on for the details.

Card Base: Shimmery White CS cut 4-1/4" x 11"; score at 5-1/2". I rounded the corners of a piece of Pool Party CS using the Envelope Punch Board. The sentiment from the Vertical Greetings stamp set was stamped with Memento Ink. I then spritzed this piece using a mixture of alcohol and the remains from a Clear Wink of Stella pen in a Stampin' Spritzer. Added to the card with Fast Fuse.

Image Layer: Tulips, stems and leaves are from the Tranquil Tulips stamp set. This is a two-step stamp set with a watercolor look. The tulips were stamped with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks on Whisper White CS. The stems and leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink. I also rounded the corners with the Envelope Punch Board. Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon was used to tie around the image with a square knot bow. This layer was also spritzed with the same mixture as above. A piece of fun foam was added to the back of the image to pop it up on the card.

The Finishing Touch: I added three Clear Epoxy Shapes - 2 to the flowers and 1 to a leaf for a dew drop effect.

You can't see it in the photo, but there is a lot of shimmer on this card. This is such a lovely stamp set and I can imagine the tulips in so many colors. Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed and safe weekend.

A Dapper Birthday

Happy Saturday everyone. Remember I said I had a series of three cards for a couple celebrating their anniversary and birthdays on the same day. This is the second of the three. I used the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #263. The sketch is perfect for creating a masculine card.

Card Base: Night of Navy CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4"

Sentiment Layer: On Very Vanilla CS, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Truly Tailored stamp set using Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide inks with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. I didn't want the mustache that is part of the sentiment so I covered it up when I stamped the two parts of the sentiment. I cut a 2-1/2" square piece of True Gentleman DSP in half diagonally. These were added to opposite corners. I added a 1/4" strip of Night of Navy CS over the edge of the DSP and trimmed off the overhang flush with the edge of the Very Vanilla layer. The whole layer was added to the card front.

The Finishing Touch: I fussy cut a bow tie from the same DSP and added it with Glue Dots.

Happy Birthday Sis

Here's hoping everyone is adjusting to the time change. Now if spring would just wake up and join us. My middle sister had a birthday last month and this is the card I made for her. It's an eclipse card which I love making. There are so many possiblities when creating one of these.

Card Base: Elegant Eggplant CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". A layer of Lemon Lime Twist was added on top of that.

Floral Layer: On a piece of Whisper White CS, I stamped a variety of images from the Bloomin' Love stamp set. I used the MISTI to balance the images on all sides. When I stamped one side, I turned the card stock and stamped the other. I then moved the stamp and did the same thing. The colors I used for all the floral and leaf images were Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Blushing Bride, Elegant Eggplant, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder and Sweet Sugarplum inks. I added the little dots from the Painted Harvest stamp set to fill in some empty spots.

Sentiment: I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the back of the floral layer and cut out the sentiment using the Celebrate You Thinlits. I saved all the tiny pieces so I could add them back later. This layer was then attached to the card front. On scrap pieces of Lemon Lime Twist and Perfect Plum I added Adhesive Sheet and cut out the same sentiment from each. I attached all three sentiments together for dimension and added it back into the opening of the floral layer. Then to really test my patience I added all the tiny pieces from the sentiment back into the openings in the letters.

The Finishing Touches: I stamped some of the floral images from the Bloomin' Love stamp set on Blushing Bride, Elegant Eggplant and Sweet Sugarplum card stocks using the coordinating color inks. They were cut out using the Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits. I layered them to get 3 flowers and added them to the card. Clear Wink of Stella was added to the small center flower. Small Pearls were added to the center of each flower to finish the card.

If you want to try this type of card, there are so many places on the internet to find directions. It seems like a lot of work but they can be done a lot simpler. Thank you for visiting. Have a great week and be safe.

Big & Bold Anniversary Wishes

Happy weekend to everyone. This card is the first of a three card series. My daughter-in-love's sister and brother-in-law are celebrating their anniversary next week. But they are also celebrating their birthdays, all on the same day. I chose the TIME OUT Challenge #104 - BOLD for my inspiration. I think the large image and sentiment as well as the bright colors does make a bold statement. I'll share the other two cards next week some time.

Card Base: Lemon Lime Twist CS cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; score at 4-1/4". I added a layer of Whisper White CS that had the corners rounded using the Envelope Punch Board.

Image Layer: The beautiful flower from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set was stamped on Whisper White CS with Fresh Fig ink. The Layering Squares Framelits were used to cut it out. I cut a piece of Eastern Palace DSP and rounded the corners to use as a mat. Before matting the image, I added a Delicate White Doily that was colored with a Sponge Brayer and Crushed Curry Ink between the image and the mat. A piece of Crushed Curry 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon was added to the white layer.

Sentiment: One of the banners from the Banners for You stamp set was stamped on Lemon Lime Twist CS using Fresh Fig ink. Two of the sentiments from the same stamp set were then stamped on the banner with Fresh Fig ink. The banner was cut out with the Bunch of Banners Framelits. It was added to the card with Dimensionals.

The Finishing Touches: To the center of the big flower I added a large Clear Faceted Gem. Metallic Enamel Shapes were added to the sentiment banner.

Hugs and Wishes

Happy Wednesday everyone. Here in the northeast we are anticipating a huge snow fall - 10 to 14 inches. I guess winter won't be going out quietly this year. My card today is meant to be a hug in the mail with some words of love and support. I used the challenge As You See It Challenge #170.

Card Base: Soft Sky CS cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"; scored at 4-1/4". One of the Petal Pair embossing folders was used down the center of the front. With the Layering Squares Framelits, I cut one of the scalloped squares from Night of Navy CS and used it to mat a piece of Naturally Eclectic DSP.

Sentiment: Adhesive Sheets were added to pieces of Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Naturally Eclectic DSP and used them to cut out the hugs sentiment using the Lovely Words Thinlits. I also used one of the Layering Circles Dies around the thinlit so that I would have an edge around the sentiment. They were layered together both for dimension and stability and added to the card.

Images: I stamped the flower and butterfly images from the Hold On To Hope stamp set on Whisper White CS using Emerald Envy, Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist markers. They were cut out with the Cross of Hope Framelits and added to the card with Glue Dots.

The Finishing Touch: Added a little sparkle with a Rhinestone on the butterflies and the flower.
