From the second floor of the MAPS Air Museum hangar, a members-only area, you get a great view of what is commonly known, among members of the Military Aircraft Preservation Society, as "the boneyard."

Aircraft stored in "the boneyard", while awaiting restoration, include a C-47, T-28, F-101 Voodoo, Beech 18, F-105, F-11 Tiger and F-102.

Beyond "the boneyard" is the main operations area of the Akron Canton Airport and sitting on the runway, in the left hand portion of the photo, is a 747 owned by televangelist Ernest Angley.

From this window in my office you can see houses and apartments in the Queen Anne district of Seattle.

Queen Anne hill is one of the seven hills that made up Seattle (I kid you not, Google it and you will get a list of the seven hill names) If you look in the far lower right hand corner, you can see the tip of Lake Union.

If you're wondering what the black rectangle is in the lower left hand portion of the shot it's a sticky note. I am a sticky note aholic.

This view is from upstairs in my new-ish home on the most north-west street in Napa, California before the vineyards quilt the rest of the valley.

Daily the sunset is spectacular and before the sun comes up in the fall, you might be awoken by fans that keep the grapes warm warding off frost if it gets too cool pre-harvest.

This view requires my instant gratitude for ...well, everything.

I was at the National Speakers Association annual convention in Phoenix, Arizona at the beautiful JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa.

The view, from my hotel window, is a courtyard at the back of the property.

You can barely see part of the golf course behind the palm trees. The grounds of the resort were just huge and that's just a small part of it. This was a Monday afternoon with thunderstorms rolling in.

The round building is the Westin Hotel. This and Southerly is pretty much the heart of downtown Seattle.

Our kitchen window faces the southwest, making the task of washing dishes more pleasant.

Our back yard has many trees but there is an open area in the middle of the yard that allows us to enjoy lingering sunsets. In the summer the lightning bugs provide even further entertainment.

Although we live in a developed area occasionally a deer will spend time feeding in the yard. In our neighborhood there are no fences separating properties making us feel like our yard is part of a park system.

This image was taken the first day at a new job in December, 2007 from the 12th floor of the Lincoln Centre in North Dallas. Since that day I've never seen a more clear, blue sky from this view.

A neat tidbit: I've realized that the building directly across the highway reflects the ground and sky in a way that you can see the weather or sunlight changes right before they happen. Though, I've never been able to take a sunset picture that really does this justice.

Even though there is so much in this view, all I can recall about taking this picture that day was being amazed at how clear and true blue the sky was and how far I could see looking NW (towards DFW airport and Los Colinas).

The 'open' spaces between buildings are views of a lot of areas between Far North Dallas and DFW airport looking Northwest (including Addison, foreground, Carrolton, Plano, Richardson, possibly Coppell and Los Colinas). I'd almost say I would keep this job just to keep this office view!

Here's a pic from my bedroom window. Our backyard bottoms out at the channel. This was a day or two after a heavy rain rain.

I love living here, it's so awesome to see all the wildlife.

There's a pair of hawks building a nest in a tree across the channel and a woodpecker who comes to a dead tree that we haven't removed yet. I hesitate now to take it away 'til she's done with it.

We also have a turtle who comes right before the tide starts to come in, a couple of Blue Herons, blue crabs and lizards galore

We have a small backyard and every time our two Papillon dogs, Maxxie and Sophie, want to go outside, our cat Zeussie (who is an indoor cat) tries to stay as close as the door as possible so he can make his move as soon as the door opens to let our dogs in!

He really doesn't want to escape, but loves the challenge. If he does get outside, he will immediately just fall down and roll around on the cement patio and just stay there until we come and pick him to let him back in. He looks like a fat cat, but he is fast .. and can jump up to the top edge of the fence! But, the last time he tried it there was snow on the other side of the fence, and he didn't like it. He hasn't jumped over the fence since!

We've enjoyed daily visits from a family of four whiteails for two years, in spite of their dining on our impatiens and hostas in our backyard.

I was able to get this shot of the deer in our backyard early one evening toward the end of last month.

Sitting at my desk and turning a bit to the right, my view is of Elliot Bay. The Space Needle is that pointy thing in the right hand portion of the picture.

You can see a little bluish whitish lump a little to the right of the needle. That is part of the Experience Music Project. It's about the only thing I don't like in my view. They tell me it is supposed to look like a guitar, but it looks more like a bird threw up some stuff it scavenged up from somewhere.

Our kitchen window affords us a view of a wonderful tree. We enjoy seeing it change throughout the year.

Our neighbor has a number of trees and there seems to always be squirrels running about and plenty of birds coming and going that we can see from this window.

This is from my boat docked at the Presidio Yacht Club at Fort Baker on the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I can sleep overnight on the boat due to my military background.

I'm an avid yachtsman who loves the open sea. The San Francisco bay is normally freezing, even on sunny days like this one.

This is my inspiration for writing, my house sits in the vineyards of the rural village.

Everyday there are birds of different varieties flying around, the singing is a real dawn chorus. The chickens cluck and crow, the tractoria trundle through the lane.

Village ladies carry large bundles on their backs and the goats are herded into the fields in search of grass.

The lilacs I see out my window only bloom for about 2-3 weeks, but they smell amazing. Right now, they are in their full splendor.

They remind me of all that I love about spring/summer, because the aroma stirs up memories of playing in the lilac bushes in the beauty, innocence, and exuberance at the peak of my childhood. I realize too, that those days haven't died, but are a part of me. The lilacs remind me to live fully.
