Real Weddings- Diane and Mark

Today's Real Wedding took place last August at the beautiful Pacific Northwest destination, The Inn at Port Ludlow, and was the perfect relection of everything this lovely couple holds dear. Just three months before the wedding, Diane and Mark's darling daughter Charlotte was born, so their marriage wasn't only about honoring the two of them, but celebrating their whole family. During the ceremony Mark held Charlotte (the "best baby") in his arms as Diane walked down the aisle, and as they all stood together at the alter there wasn't a dry eye in the house! Photographers Kim and Adam Bamberg from La Vie Photography captured all the action, and wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Jody from Good Taste Events, helped the new parents create a wedding that was a joy for all who attended. From the handmade favors of lipbalm and soaps, to the apple harvest placecards and decor details in an ivory and champagne color palette, it was a stunningly beautiful and meaningful event!

The evening before the wedding, Diane and Mark skipped the traditional rehearsal dinner and had a special ceremony blessing their new little bundle of joy, Charlotte Grace. Each guest wrote down their personal wishes for her life, and hung a card listing the qualities they would help teach to Charlotte in a tree that would later be planted in their yard. So sweet! It was a weekend full of events that celebrated every aspect of their lives. How perfect. Window-Shop for your Wedding with New York Magazine

Last week while researching the pretty Bonbon Oiseau bridal hair accessories, I came across this fun "window-shopping" feature on the New York Magazine website and felt like I had found a treasure trove! It's called Shop-a-Matic, and it is fun, fun, fun! There are lots of different Fashion, Home, Beauty and Gift categories to pour through, and there is even a Wedding Guide featuring impressive collections of engagement rings, men's and women's wedding bands, stationery, registry ideas and bridal accessories. Some items are only available in New York area stores, but many items are available to purchase online, and the whole thing is super easy to use. Now if I could just stop window-shopping and get back to work!

Delicately Detailed Wedding Dresses from the Spring '09 Runways

This weekend I attended the wedding of my dear friends Michelle and Chip, and couldn't stop oohing and ahhing over Michelle's beautiful dress. It had a fitted bodice with a simple halter neck and drop waist, but the skirt was what stole the show! It was delicately embroidered with a white on white floral, leaf and vine pattern that perfectly personified the sweetness of spring. She looked fresh and glowing and absolutely gorgeous, and reminded me of how much I love the wonderful detailing on wedding gowns!

I arrived at my computer this morning to such a treat! An e-mail from Deborah, designer of gorgeous handmade wedding accessories for Bonbon Oiseau and a glowing post about Junebug on her delightful blog, Your Destiny is Stone Golden. Anyone who makes such beautiful fashion accessories and tells the world that Junebug is "as glossy as a candy apple and just as delicious," automatically wins my heart. Thanks Deborah!
