Where did the week go?!?!?!?!... i feel like i was just telling aaron that we needed to make a quick one-day jaunt to Flagstaff (of course, you know how much i love this place) to see family and of course eat at Lafonda on saturday....... Aaron and i decided to be health conscious and share the WONDERFUL jaw-dropping special and pair it with a knock-you-off-your-block $2.00 Margie!!!! Boy we were in heaven....(we really did feel like we were running to flag in desperate mode, i guess better than emo, right?)

What a busy day they were having, but man! i was impressed with the quick execution of our order... i was surprised by the amount of non-natives hitting up the place! i guess the word's out guy's.... we will have to start sacrificing our mall time to score some great seats. :)

Say hi to cheapest yummy margarita.... if you don't love it.... well, i will. :)

of course Flagstaff never loses it's beauty and small town charm..... i never get tired of saying... (sigh)..... i heart you Flagstaff :) i hope to go back soon..... Hope your weekend was great and also enjoyed all the facebook posts about the everyone eating at LaFonda... we all had her on our minds! :)

has a huge part of my heart.....maybe even the whole thing.... this boy is turning into quite the young inquisitive maternal challenger! he pushes my buttons more than once at a time, he melts my heart with this smile, knows how to make me feel uber special, he's great at snuggling, gives me sneaked kisses when he really needs them, has a love for oreo cookies that can only be genetic, he has a way of turning a dull moment into a fun one,

he tells funny jokes and is quite the movie one-liner, he craves my opinion and may not always take it, says things to get my attention, loves gummie bears like no other, knows immediately when i'm giving him mean eyes, wants to teach me to golf, thinks i'm cool enough to play with his legos, loves to teach me new things, prefers cats, loves to build forts, & most importantly loves GOD.

Although he is growing up soooo fast, i have to take every opportunity to catch all the milestones ... even when i may be super annoying and taking too many pictures..... that's a sacrifice i love making ;) He wants to push fast forward and live his grown pga life ... when all i want is for him to stay small and easy to carry forever.

Reason #1 to start running.... the joy of buying new nike running shoes..... right?? or is it to be healthy?? i prefer the shoes... and well the feeling after you're done, even when you didn't think you would make it..... yup! one of the best feelings since....well, wearing your new Keds back in 6th grade :)

This week was pretty easy... i may have to say... it was an intro to running.... kind of like Running 101.... pretty equivalent to being Lindsey Lohan 101... step one... have one drink, and go home.. well you know how that turns out... i have a looooongggg way to go... and i may even be caught looking like her passed out in a mercedes... but on my couch exhausted, but sober. :) This week I am increasing the running interval times and tossing in a little Jillian action to assist in muscle tone.... ohhhh... Jillian we have a love hate relationship.... i love her body, but hate what she makes me do.....

Wishing you luck in your fittness goals.... hopefully i can one day be like my brother, who is a running machine... and run 26.2 miles.... but at least for now... i can settle for the .2.... lol! :) Have a wonderful day getting ready for the week!

If the walls could talk....

.... they would tell you this house is dirty!.... Today we spent the day avoiding our house and the responsibilites of cleaning it by enjoying a FREE day at the Museum of Natural History:) .....

However, before leaving the house... i managed to muster up enough energy to decorate a once bare wall, with a couple of decorative touches.... or clutter.... :) (you say toemaytoe... i say toemaytoe :)

Yesterday we went to Flagstaff for a quick road trip to take pictures, enjoy the nice cooler weather, visit with family & friends, and of course, eat lunch at LaFonda.... btw... has the best Saturday Special and $2.00 margarita!!!

With my two guys in tow I was even able to manager a quick shopping trip into Pier 1.... Thanks to my sister Tomi,she brought her hubby. Him and A babysat each other quite well :), while we made a couple laps around in the store... of course hitting up the sale racks!! who can't turn down items on sale... right?

So this morning.... i kept thinking about the things I have had laying... i mean storing around the house to collaborate on this bare wall... im sure not the next HGTV design star.. but hope you approve of this.. :)

not to be a sentimental mush or anything i bought the above picture because it reminded me of our Pastor.... he ALWAYS blesses us with this verse at the end of each church service and well.... it makes me feel special :)

a little closer look of the detail..... added texture to the wall.... i probably just made myself sound stupid... oh well... someone has to get this house decorated... right?!

In the midst of a busy day.... i kept worrying about my coupons that were expiring today.... and the new policy that Fry's is no longer going to take competitors coupons.... so that mean i needed to go out with a BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Numbero uno: bath and body works antibacterial soap.... back in the diz-ay i loved the beaded soap version and slowly grasped a love-hate relationship with it... because.... 1. it never fully empties....2. it pumps to a hand ratio of arsenio hall.... and those are some big hands... and the well the rest just goes wasted on the side of the container....... after some time the bbw folks know how to pull me in once again.... and made the anti-bacterial foam hand wash!!! switch-o change-o ... Shannon was back in love !! and every year they go on sale and we stock up! McCabe Staple #1 was born :) exhibit A: hand soap hoarding... keeping it real... i suggest it in daily sale doses or if your like me go for the full monty!

Next item up.... William Sonoma hand towels.... ahhhh.... make me happy just saying it. They are abbbbbb soooooo lutely theeee BEST! and my opinion is not based on the material name.... but the quality!! they hands down will last longer than any other costco/ross/wally-world towel will.... let me introduce McCabe Staple # 2.......

Well i hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! we sure did... despite celebrating it after a long day at work on a monday... bleh.... we didn't do anything even similar to a romantic candle-lit dinner.... but neither one of us were disappointed....

aaron was a sweet heart and bought me something i always wanted!!!..... an all leather coach purse.... (insert the pig commercial squealing pig saying "weeeee" holding a pin wheel hanging out the window of the car).....

(don't judge.... my bedroom was dirty and un-kept...... but the happiness blinded me from caring :)

he scored a nook from his wifey..... at the beginning of the year we had a family new year's resolution of reading one book a month... well both guys have lapped me!!!! so i did some research between all the readers and decided on the nook..... after his initial start up.. he hasn't put it down... he was lucky to even get a cover with a built-in light to go with it..... as we drove away we tossed brennen $20.00 and said happy valentine's day.... he was happy! our evening ended with dinner at our favorite pho restaurant..... yummy!

Christmas Re-Play

Before I miss the "etiquette" updating deadline (if there is one) ....here is a quick re-play...... This year we were sooo blessed that my parents came to us and we were spared the long jaunt up north (as you know.... we do that drive quite frequently)!

Our Christmas eve: started with last minute Christmas gift buying and runs to the grocery store... if this was Aaron's and Brennen's blog it would say, Christmas Eve: Golfed, Christmas Day: Golfed, the day after Christmas: golfed :) Yup! A-Dizzle and B-diddy lived it up at their pseudo man cave for three days straight.... but i didn't complain... my mom and i were able to gab about recent celebrity gossip, recent inspiring recipes, and decorating ideas... a time and place for no boys allowed :) Later that night we all decided to head out to the casino for some family bonding time.... who wouldn't bond after winning or losing money :)

Christmas morning was rough on our eyes.... our family was still soo sleepy from the late night. We woke in a rush to get all our Christmas presents opened so we could load the guys back up to make it to their tee time... :) I later laid back down and took a nap... and later woke up to

the smell of my mom's cooking and her bodyguards manning the ship in the kitchen.... :)

i spent the rest of the morning/afternoon relaxing, watching t.v, and taking pictures.... I hope you & your family had

the remainder of the weekend was spent watching football, the guys wrestling, consuming 800 cajillion k-cups of coffee, movie quote wars (truth; aaron and my brother only speak to each other in movie quotes! - very strange) and ended with a sweaty competitive session of Let's Dance 2 on the wii (a gift to me, from my mom - thanks mom:)

Get it while it's HOT!!!

For the past couple weekends since Christmas I have been hitting up all the clearance areas!!! Believe me this year I scored some cute and cheap things....

First off: these glasses I found at Pier 1 for a wopping 2.00 each..... they were 50% off... and if you know me already... polka dots??? (my meth in decor form :) Not included in the picture is a 2010 hand painted ornament with the Three Wise Men.. in it's own storage box! It was normally 12.00... i was able to get it for our tree next year for a basement price of $3.00!!!!!

this year i didn't buy anything new for our tree or house.... I like to get things on sale and couldn't imageine paying 12.99 ($3.25) for each pillow.... 9.99 ($2.50) for the platter... 2.99 (.75) for each bowl.... and 19.99 ($5.00)for the Christmas Tree decor.... all of it... GET THIS!!! was 75% off @ Tar-jay... and I was even able to get a Douglass Fir tree that was normally 200.00 dollars for 40.00 (Since the box was open they gave us an additional 20% off the fifty dollar seventy percent off price)!!! YAY!.... now to box it up and twiddle my thumbs until next year to see it :)

Answers about the video...

1. how did i do it? well.... Channeling the inner-geek was pretty tough, however the FLIP camera (and there may be more like them) have the software built in; making it super easy for editing/producing.... once i edited each movie clip... i had to decide which recording clips were going to be in the video... super hard process for me..... i wanted it all.... well obviously i gave in and got it done... I'm so sorry to those that saw the lovely red recording button blinking and you were not a starring actor/actress.... it was based on time... the summary of the day.... (i still love you :)

i then had to finally set up an iTunes account... and yes i did..... I'm not a person who owns an mp3 player or an ipod.... i still love live radio and cd's... i know pretty pathetic... once that was done i combined them on the flip software in movie mode... and added it to a vimeo account... viola... "24 hours in Flagstaff"

2. Is that dog on Brennen's lap a new addition? sorry... but as cute as she is she belongs to my brother's... she is a lover and we enjoyed every minute we got to spend with her....

3. Why were there ambulance and police at the sledding area? no cool story or explanation... when we got there a lady was sitting awkwardly from a bad landing and was eventually hauled off on a stretcher.... i definitely hope she is better!

4. Who loves polka dots? well easy question... that's me... I'm a sucker for polka dots and secretly have an obsession with them.... :)

5. Did Aaron eat that entire sushi piece he put in his mouth? haha! yes he sure did.. he is a firm believer in not taking a bite in any sushi roll.... it apparently ruins the flavor explosion.... haha!

btw.... a big THANKS for all the rave reviews.... and yes... watch out Mel and Steven, Shannon's Shaky Hand Productions are coming to get'cha!

Yup! today is a tournament day for B!!! He has been obsessed recently with the Houston open... and now the Master's... a day in my life includes waking up to cartoons....no.... i mean the ambiance of the golf channel... and the site of golf balls and irons all over!

i absolutely love the weather right now.... it has inspired me to take more pictures.... buy new perfume.... paint my toes fire engine red.... two-tone paint the kitchen.... decorate my patio... buy big flower corsages.... sleep with the windows open.... resurface old furniture and make it new again...

detail my car like no one's business... bake a jello cake.....test out new recipes.... blow bubbles... have picnics.... check out independent films from the public library.... go to the zoo... & eat kettle corn........ :) i hope spring inspires great things in your life!

today was the first day that i saw this kid's face look like it does on christmas morning... without christmas.... he was soooo stoked to go to the waste management open.... he was a true trooper and scored us comp tickets and kept up on each hole.....speed walking!!!.... it was one of those special moments to see somebody you love get to experience what they love most....

well for right now... this kid loves golf... it may be a love that may blow out like a flame or slowly flicker out... but in the mean time... i love cheering him on and picking out cute clothes for his tournaments... stay tuned.... i will keep eveyone posted on his progress this year... btw... i was sooo happy with how this picture turned out... i got the natural lighting just at the right time... and that's hard...

at the phoenix zoo... where on even a bad day... the animals look oh-so-cute!

These were some of our favorite animals (including Brennen).... when we got home we made an effort to list our "best" part of the day :)

After a relaxing day of watching animals in their man-made habitat and smelling the aromas of kettle corn.. we sat by the duck pond (I secretly wanted that moment to last forever) ... and sat.... it was great!

today is such a nice day... our doors and windows are open and we're enjoying the nice ambiance of sunday... although i think we create it ourselves ......or do we? anyway... aaron and brennen are sitting outside soaking up the rewards of making some hummingbird nectar ...

....about three weeks ago they began feeding one hummingbird....well.... he apparently spread the word about our sweet nectar recipe (no secret... boil 1 cup of water and 1/3 c. of sugar.... cool and fill your feeder) ... now we have five religious eaters!!!... they are so nice to watch... but at times get bossy if the feeder is low... (all flying in unison around the feeder and around the windows....making their hackle call ....until they get a new batch)... it's our faults... we spoil them!

while the boys headed to the park i decided to make brownies... not from scratch... fresh from the kitchen of Betty Crocker... heehee... with the "extra egg" for the "cake-like" ones... well their done... we are going to enjoy them with iced-milk... :)

have a great sunday!!! i keep thinking about this and wanting to take a nap... (btw.... white bedding and boys is not too bad of a combo, they seem to appreciate it :)

it's already twenty - ten??

Seriously... i literally fell off the face of the blog world... and honestly missed it... however it's sooo easy to fall back behind the scenes and become a kooky-eyed, adrenaline driven, blog stalker... so thanks to all those blogs that kept me in the loop.....while i was in a blog coma :)

So here is a recap of the past 8 months... what the? (recounting on my hands... eyes widen..recount again...) yeah 8 months!!!!!!!!!... {feeling like a loser} .....go ahead and boo now... geez i would have to say slap me and curse me with bad handwriting!! well anyway... here's the cliff notes version:

was the proudest mommy at Brennen's kindergarten graduation!!! seeing him walk across the stage... oops! and eat carpet was the icing on the cake... we came home with a full memory card and excitement to watch the video over and over and over and over... he was sooo happy to show everyone the part where he walked across the stage and completely biff it... after recovering gracefully, the rest of the day was priceless... at times i wish he was still a baby and confined to a square footage in the house... and another part of me loves to see him experience life!!

he's now almost done with first grade!!!! we continue to swoon over all the new things he brings home... including the great grade reports.... we still have evenings where we struggle with him to get all of his homework done.... he can be very stubborn... (gets that from his dad...heehee :) getting him ready for each year is soooo exciting...... making lists to ensure we had all those beginning of the year supplies and clothes.... we secretly like it and wish that we had more kids .. but we don't and feel like total losers when we go to zoo and see couples gracefully taking care of the multiple tots! i'm sure beginning to miss the sippy cups and cute... oh...so cute... baby clothes!!! okay... i have to stop ...

aaron and i celebrated our seven year wedding anniversary... we decided to opt. for a romantic dinner as a family at the melting pot... and believe me it was phenomenal!!! brennen was so intrigued by the fondue and the plethora of tasty flavors... he was in heaven... errr.... we were in heaven.... aaron and i reminiced about the wedding and all the toasts and quite hilarious memories that was part of our big day... :) thanks again to all those who shared the date with us!!! oh! almost forgot.... aaron and i always try and stick with the traditional gift guide and was a little stunted with the seven year.... copper / wool.... the gift does not have to be extravagent by any means.... and let me tell you... i went cheap... i first thought about those cheezy copper bracelets at a native trading post... heehee... and then maybe a wool blanket... blah!! this was harder than i thought!!! so of course i purchased my gift at the very last minute!!! i had an awesome idea.... i thought well... the gift has to be copper??? how about a cop-er!!! YES!!!! that was it.... i purchased from a mutiple array of shops ;) a cop outfit for aaron... he was stunned by my creativity... as i was with his.... he got me a huge stuffed pink sheep!!! for wool!!! overall the night was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here's to seven years of marriage!!!!!!!!!... :0)..... now going on eight!

Brennen started playing for the jgaa... junior golf association of arizona.. and has been doing amazing.... he has participated in five tournaments and did an awesome job!!! we took home 4 second place and 1 first place medal (s)!!!! the experience has been more than what i had expected... but sooo worth the ride.... now... he is moving onto other activities and has allowed some dust to settle on his clubs... but we should be up and at it come late feb.... i will keep you posted..
im going to stop for now... but i will make it a task and requirement to keep you all posted... i will post things i find inspiring... challenging... and well... things that make me feel oh-so-good!!! so blow the dust off my blog and come back soon!!!

let's bowl!!!

Last weekend... aaron, brennen and i decided to blow the dust off our bowling balls and have at it.... it was tons of fun!!!... not to mention ... i kicked both of their butts ..... yay!!!... i guess i still have it... :) i think aaron secretly wants a rematch... bring it on!!!

Here's a couple of pictures we took.... as you can see we were multi-tasking... bowling/photo montage...a requirement.....

as you can see in one of the pictures above... aaron's belly was peeking out... so i decided to do a little photo editing to help him out a bit... :) i think without it you get a full frontal from the belly button.... :) haha!! it was lots of fun!!!

This is aaron's version of the strike.... curve ball coupled with a sniper shot... guaranteed strike!!! at one point i think he thought he was going to make a come back and said to me "are you hungry???" all kookie eyed... and i said no... and he said.. "well here's your turkey"... which in bowling lingo.. means a third strike... yeah... didn't happen... haha!!!

we took many crazy and fun pictures.... it was pretty hilarious!!... people around us must of thought we were drinking... nope!! that was au naturale...

brennen had a blast!!! and we did too!! :)

...in the end... we were exhausted from all the laughing we were ready to head home... of course brennen still worked on his golf swing during plays... a little golf obsessed? you think??

that's right!!! brennen came home with a note stating that he needed further evaluation for his vision... so aaron and i jumped at the task to get his vision checked... of course i assumed he had my lucky hawk eyes (20/15) ... nope... he scored a pair of aaron's vision genes.... oh well... he looks really cute!!!

he still is a little apprehensive about wearing them, but i'm sure with persistence and time he will not be able to live without them..... in the mean time he can SEE!!! :) that's all i could ask for... right?

mother's day weekend...

......... was a blast!!! and believe me it went by fast!!! It was jam-packed with a lengthy and detailed itinerary... (let me tell you a little about our itinerary's... we are a very flexible lil'family who are willing to do anything and everything to make each other happy...so to sum it up... we are super busy most of the time... i wouldn't want it any other way :)... well my brother is graduating and since he is not "one of those" who had his whole life planned in six grade... ****scoffs***he waited until the last minute to get his invitations for his graduation... that put me in Flagstaff (which i love...so love... *sigh*.... anyway... focus....) on saturday enjoying the beautiful view above... thank goodness my windshield was clean... i took this picture on my way in... the the windows down... it was nice!! first we met my mom sans brother (yeah...he knew if i was there he had no say.. lol) and ordered his invitations... anyway it turned out nice and my other brother Shane took my mom and I out for lunch for Mother's Day...... while aaron and brennen golfed... we had fun... and did some shopping and left later that evening... and returned back to the hot hot sun... :(.... opps... there was no sun... and it was still hot :)

Mother's day morning i was delighted by this lovely bouquet of flowers... well ....pancake flower bouquet... courtesy of my wonderful and talented hubby... and two wonderful heart-felt cards... aaron's was a card straight out of those commercials...the one that has a personalized message and then followed by a song... *tear* ... super cute.... i was super spoiled!!! and loved it... then it was mom you can watch whatever you want... and brennen wore what i picked out... no complaining... yeah... aaron prepped him well... :) then it was off to church...

afterwards we went to a play .... it was a total re-mix version of Snow White..... it was hilarious and had the whole theatre rolling... good times.... fun ..fun ...fun!!! i even snuck a picture... :) The young talent in this one was great!!!

by mid afternoon... we were ready to eat lunch.... so we did and brennen said "mom i want to get you a boba smoothie" and i didn't turn that down... so off to boba house we skipped... well drove... :)

When i got home... Brennen wore his apron he made in sunday school and it came equipped with a wonderful glass jar of chores (thanks Ms. Vicky)... it was a true blessing to take one out at a time and he would take off and get to work... it even had hugs & kisses for mom... which i was lucky to pull out.. (he was cute and let me use it a couple of times... :) my evening ended with a nice thai dinner made by aaron (and it was gooood) and then a movie (while brennen went to sleep)... all in all it was a great weekend... i am truly blessed to have two wonderful moms.. and to be a mom myself... Happy Mother's Day!!!

on saturday we were meandering around in crate and barrel.... as we walked past some pancake items..... brennen says that he needed a pan of his own to make pancakes.... mom says "mom will buy them for your wedding and then you can make them for your family like dad does..." he stayed quiet... aaron adds "i will teach you how to make them..." he disapproves and says "i'm not getting married.." and mom says "you say that now... but you will have a wife and your own family and you can make them pancakes like dad does for us..." brennen says "mom... i'm not going to have a wife...." aaron and i both chime in "you will.." brennen says ......"dad's going to be my wife....."

aaron and i busted up laughing....
