Comfy Cattery provides cat boarding services for those who will be away from home for some time, and wish to leave their beloved cat in good hands.

For a reasonable charge of RM25 - RM35 per cat per day, your cat will enjoy his/her vacation (from the evil owner!) in a safe enclosure with outdoor environment, which is of course much better than the jail-liked cat cage.

Now who is running Comfy Cattery? A resident cat (who pose in the photo), a cat lover and an animal lover. Well, as they only boarding 4 cats max at any one time, your cat will be getting enough care and attention.

Comfy Cattery is located in Taman Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Give them a call, should you going for holidays soon.

Why Hamsters Chewing Cage Bars?

Having a cage biter hamster? Well, don't be worry too much because occasionally bar-biting is a very common hamster behavior. However, excessive chewing on the hard metal bars of the cage can cause your hamster's teeth to become misaligned, and in turn causing brain damage.

Why Chewing the Bars?

Boredom is a common reason of why hamsters chewing the bars. They make noise to seek your attention. Some hamsters bite the bars just for the sake that the bars is there or they enjoy making the noise. It doesn't always mean your hamsters are not happy in their homes.

How to Stop the Bars Biting?

Whatever the reason is, it is not a safe and healthy habit for your hamsters. Thus you might want to try the following tricks to divert their attention.

Spend at least one hour per day to play with your hamsters while they are active in late evening or early morning, not during their sleeping time in the middle of the day. Social interaction can make your hamster really tame and happy.
Besides hamster wheel, which is a must, give your hamsters plenty of toys and swap the toys around regularly to prevent your hamsters' environment from becoming monotonous. You may try some of these homemade hamster toys.
Make sure your hamster has plenty of safe objects to chew. Give them some fruit tree branches, wooden chews or mineral blocks sold in petshops. Some hamsters get interested in wood chew if you rub their favorite food (e.g. carrot and sweet corn) on it to flavor it. Many hamsters like to chew on unflavored dog biscuits too.
If you have an attention-seeking cage biter, don't mind about him until he stops. Then scooping him up for cuddles only when he is quiet.
If, even after all this, your hamsters still continues to chew on the cage bars, it is best to move them to a bar less or aquarium type cage to stop the behavior.

A contented hamster will usually stretch an yawn, it means that the hamster is feeling happy and comfortable. It doesn't imply that it is time for bed though!

When your hamster squeaks loud singly or quickly repeated, the hamster is upset or seeking attention. You should check on your hamster immediately.

Injury or Sickness
If there is no obvious injuries, but your hamster still squeaks when you pick him / her up then consult a vet.

Fearful
Your hamster was probably scared from something such as spiders or other insects, so check the cage thoroughly.

Play Fight or Real Fight
Hamsters may squeak when they play fighting for dominance, or if they are in a real fight .

White Roborovski Hamster?

Roborovski hamsters with not only white face but entire body in white! Are these albino Roborovski hamsters, I was wondering. No, albino should have red eyes. After further reading from Roborovski.net, apparently these are White-Faced Roborovski that have faded to white over time. Not all White-Faced Roborovski will turn to white though, some are quicker than others and some only fade to white partially.

The website shows the process of White-Faced fading into White Roborovski too, below are some highlights.

5 weeks old... Ordinary white face.

7 months old... Fading process started.

11 months old... White-Faced pattern is barely visible.

17 months old... Become snow balls, almost!

World's Deepest Living Fish?

Aren't these tadpoles?
Not really, this 12" fish, called Pseudoliparis amblystomopis, is a member of the snailfish family. They are surprisingly sociable and active, feeding on little shrimp.

How deep in the ocean are these fishes living?
7700 meters deep in the Japan Trench, floor of the northern Pacific Ocean. There's no light at such depts.

How about the water pressure?
It is 8000 tonnes per square meter, equivalent to that of 1600 elephants standing on the roof of a Mini car.
