Elementary and Junior high-school students will not be allowed to hold own mobile phone in Ishikawa-prefecture, Japan.

The assembly in Ishikawa has decided that in "the local regulation for children of Ishikawa." Parents should try to keep their children away from mobile phones, except for the prevention of disaster, crime and other special purpose. That regulation will be in force on Jan. 1st 2010.

NTT docomo, largest mobile carrier in Japan, announced releasing EVANGELION Mobile Phone(EVA Keitai) in this summer. Althogh it's based on SH-06A model by SHARP, both inside and outside have been customized for EVA style. Additionally the characters in the next new movie will use this phone.

Only 30,000 set will be deployed.

Akira Sasaki, one of the best alpen racer in Japan, will participate in Ski Cross World Cup Series, to be chosen as a racer of Ski Cross Olympic event, Vancouver 2010, according to the news source.

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan has released a survery which says 40 percent of hotels don't accept foreign travelars in Japan.

mixi starts Sending 'paper' Greeting Cards service

The largest social networking service in Japan 'mixi' announced the new service which is able to send paper-based new year greeting cards to friends in mixi network, even if you don't know the address of them.

Sender chooses a template of card, types message, and selects the people who you want to send the card. Then pay the fee via credit card after confirming what you select.

People who receives the alart can decide to receive or not the cards. If he/she doesn't agree to get it, the transaction will be canceled and be refunded.

Do u know the Photographers' SNS?
Flickr is the one of the famous photographers' SNS in the world.
Then, what I've found is a tiny one in Japan which has just started in last August.

Althogh participants are still few, functions and contests are getting better.
(yes, that's still 'Beta version', so to speak.)

There're many amateur photographers in this site.
Even they are 'amateur', u shouldn't look down on them.
Their works are so brilliant.
