Perhaps a brief explanation would help answer your questions.

We usually put in anywhere from 6-10 hours of research, writing, filming, editing, and uploading for each show. You can see how that made it a little difficult back when we were doing daily episodes. Our audience never really took off despite our efforts. We’ve heard of people that managed to create internet shows and live off of t-shirt sales, but that just wasn’t in the cards for us. Right now we don’t have enough viewers to turn the show into a career.

So if you don’t make money on the show - and believe me we don’t - then what do you do for a living? you ask. We have a company that produces videos, websites, and print media. Most of our business clients are small to medium sized, and most of them are going under. With clients not able to pay us, we are having a hard time staying afloat. Finding new clients in this economy has been extremely challenging as well. We actually shut our office doors March 8th. (The end of the show video was filmed in advance and put off for as long as possible.)

It is not a question of not having enough to pay for the show or of hosting costs. It is an issue of not having a job to pay our normal bills and loosing our houses and living in tents. Kind of extreme but you get the idea. Putting the show together just takes time, not money. That time, right now, needs to be devoted to making money to survive. Without the day job to pay for this job, we’ve found ourselves in a difficult situation. But who knows what the future will hold. We’re still optimistic.

Eggnog (the nog-free recipe)
2 eggs, beaten
2 tbs sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
2 1/2 cups milk

Mix contents together and heat in a double boiler until steaming, not boiling.

Wassail
1 tablespoon whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
3 tablespoons chopped ginger
2 cups white sugar
1 quart water
2 cups orange juice
2 cups lemon juice
2 quarts apple cider

Dissolve sugar in warm water. Add cinnamon, ginger and cloves and let stand for 2 or more hours. Strain out cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Add juice and cider. Heat and serve.

Lumpy Fudge:
1 pkg milk chocolate chips
1 pkg butterscotch chips
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 pkg mini marshmallows
Melt chips and peanut butter in microwave, stir. Add marshmallows, stir until coated. Spread in greased 9×13. refrigerate until cooled and set.

Easy Fudge:
2 large pkgs. milk chocolate* chips
1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14oz)
1 larg pkg. miniature marshmallows
**1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Microwave chips, peanut butter and milk in a large bowl about 2 minutes - stir - repeat until chips are melted.
Add marshmallows, stir and microwave, repeat until melted.
Add nuts if desired
Pour into buttered pan and refrigerate until firm. Cut into 1/2 inch squares.
This fudge can be frozen.

*Any flavor of chips can be used -
Dark chocolate and mint chips
White chocolate with macadamea nuts
Rocky Road - Dark chocolate chips, walnuts, reserve part of the marshmallows and stir in when the nuts are added.

Both recipes require -
Large microwave safe bowl
9×13 pan - greased or buttered

Lost rights in Canada - Not long after Quebec approved gay marriage, the legislature discretely changed the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms so that parents no longer have any say in religious instruction of their children in schools.

Justice Baxter’s Dissenting opinion - This is a brief excerpt citing just a few problems with the court’s ruling:

“In reaching this decision, I believe, the majority violates the separation of powers, and thereby commits profound error.”
“Nothing in our Constitution, express or implicit, compels the majority’s startling conclusion that the age-old understanding of marriage — an understanding recently confirmed by an initiative law — is no longer valid.”
“The majority’s mode of analysis is particularly troubling. The majority relies heavily on the Legislature’s adoption of progressive civil rights protections for gays and lesbians to find a constitutional right to same-sex marriage. In effect, the majority gives the Legislature indirectly power that body does not directly possess to amend the Constitution and repeal an initiative.”
He also states that the Court has chosen to “overturn[], in abrupt fashion, an initiative statute confirming the equally deep-rooted assumption that marriage is a union of partners of the opposite sex. The majority does so by relying on its own assessment of contemporary community values, and by inserting in our Constitution an expanded definition of the right to marry that contravenes express statutory law. That approach creates the opportunity for further judicial extension of this perceived constitutional right into dangerous territory.”
