At the start of the contest ( 10 December 2009 )  the Alexa ranking for BlogEngage.com was already an impressive 17,160 and, as can be seen from the statistics below, its rise has continued to be nothing short of spectacular thanks to the support from members of this outstanding blogging community. Today ( 1 February 2010 ) it stands at 12, 355 – an incredible leap of nearly 5,ooo places !

Well, everyone ( of course) knew things were on the up – but some could see the future more clearly than others … so congratulations to the 3 BlogEngagers who submitted the most accurate predictions.

The contest was started on December 10th when the Alexa Rank for Blog Engage was 17,160 – and today it has climbed to 14,733 .

That’s an impressive increase ( or rather decrease ) of more than 2,400 places in less than 3 weeks.

So how much higher can BlogEngage go before February 1st 2010?

Will it maybe even break 10,000 as boldly predicted by Jared Little who is one of BlogEngage’s most proactive members – and the organiser of the weekly BlogEngage Word Challenge?  That would be amazing !

Ok, let’s see what happens – I’m really looking forward to the result and giving some free promotional help to the 3 winners of the contest who will each have their blogs featured at the top of every page of this website for 3 months

Wednesday’s “Brianstorming” post was met with a hugely positive response from some of the people I’ve been fortunate enough to meet through the blogging community at BlogEngage.com.  There have already been a few superb suggestions and I’ll soon be presenting them – along with any additional ideas of my own – in the last two posts of this short 4 part “Brianstorming” series …

But before that – a quick, easy  and fun competition with a website promotion prize available to the 3 winners …

Such individual posts ( and there are many more ) have a big effect – but it seems to me that members of the community could achieve a lot more by getting together as a group to suggest and discuss their ideas about marketing the community

This then is just a “throw-it-out-there-and-see-what-happens” idea called  “Brianstorming”- and hopefully it produces some fresh, positive, productive ideas -like the ones expressed in this short brainstorming video.

Brianstorming aims to help …

  • attract more new members to the blogging community
  • BlogEngage to storm even further up the Alexa Rankings
  • encourage more engagement within the BlogEngage Forum

Ok, I’ll post something again tomorrow about my own current promotional plans for BlogEngage. And maybe with a bit of  “Brianstorming” it will be possible to develop a better strategy for me ( and others if they want ) to follow.

These are both great blogs in their own right and a major additional reason for choosing them was that they are both actively promoting Brian’s community at BlogEngage.com – which is without a doubt one of my own personal favourite sites this year , together with Keller Hawthorne’s brilliant site for bloggers at FresheVenture.com and Miranda Grubb’s fine furniture store at whatafind.com
