Adran's Update

Adran already 2 years and 1 month old last Sunday.

Weight : 14 kg
Height : 88.5 cm

Last 2 weeks we had formula milk crisis. It start when I tried to change his current formula from Enfagrow A+ Original to Vanilla flavour. He started refusing his formula. But Alhamdulillah, now back to normal when we kept feeding him back to Original flavour.

My Opah just passed away on 28th June 2012. Alhamdulillah everything went smooth, from the time she passed away and until she was buried in her hometown in Kuala Kangsar

What I realized that, it was difficult living with family who could not appreciate you. Not everyone could appreciate for what have you done. There always things to blame others.

It is easily spoken out than easily handle the things yourselves. Just be yourself. Don't be hypocrite.

However, hope Allah accept all the good deeds done by her and all her ibadah.

Asthma Attack

Adran being admitted due to asthma for 4 days and 3 nights at Pantai Medical Centre, Bangsar. For the first 2 days,we (I & my maid) were camping in our 1 bedroom ward. Luckily we got the 1 bedded room to ourselves. Man will visit us everyday after work and bring us dinner.

By the third day my mom came from Ipoh, so there we three of us in the small room.

Alhamdulillah, Adran still active and very energetic.

Everyday we hope that Dr. Azam would released us. By the 4th day, Adran had been bored with hospital environment. Alhamdulillah, by that everning, we were released.

* Insurance Panel under my company (TH Properties) really sucks.

I just joined new company, TH Properties Sdn Bhd at Bandar Enstek which located next to Kota Seriemas. Currently, I have to traveled around 30 km one way to office.

Breaking news! We're suppose to built our house next to my MIL house, but since the subdivision of land would take forever, I have decided to bought a house at Section 15 Bandar Baru Bangi and we are targeting to move out next year after renovation works completed. Maybe by May 2012. Currently, we are awaiting for the Consent to Transfer from Selangor State Government. All bank loan has been settled ahead.

Now I'm in the Furniture Hunting Mode. All furniture shop was on sales this year end. The most difficult was to find the kitchen cabinet that to my liking and within my budget, certainly not easy. However, I managed to grab a dining table set and our king bed.

I have purchased several items for three times for last three months from US by myself. Usually, my purchase from several online blogspot website. What I realized that by purchasing by my own can save a lots of money (I know, surely can save a lots of money if you didn't splurge at all).

I'm a silence reader to Pink Stilettos, and from her blog I found that she had tried purchase online thru www.hopshopgo.com. From there, where I've start purchasing items from US.

My First Order were from Nordstrom and Macys.
Bought a pair of shoe, a purse for a friend, a RL blouse and several clothes for Adran.

My Second Order were from Neiman Marcus, Macys and Nordstrom.
Bought a Cole Haan handbag @ Neiman Marcus, a RL shirt for Man, some Spanx stuffs and my Bobbi Brown foundation and eyeshadow.

My Third Order were from Macys and Ralph Lauren.
Bought clothes for Adran and my sister-in-law soon to be born baby @ Ralph Lauren, a pair of shoe for Man @ Macys, a TH blouse and a tight for me from Macys.

What you need to have in order to purchase online, just a credit card and PayPal account. The price you pay are much much more cheaper from Malaysia even after plus the shipping cost.

Went to Pavilion KL last weekend with my mom, Adran and makcik. On the way back we went went to Levain and bought some pastries, buns and macaroon. There were so many people in the cafe'. People were queuing at the cashier and at the beverage desert pick-up area.

Actually, all three flavor is great. I will definitely come again and maybe dine in.

Swimming on Valentine's Day

Last Monday, 14th February 2011, we went for a swim at Kelab Maritim Putrajaya. There were no one else around. We have the big pool, just for us.

So, this is the pool. The water was super cool.

On last Chinese Ney Year long holiday, my day was fully occupied. It was supposed to be family day and mainly for relaxation.

Thursday, 3rd February 2011

After breakfast, took out ingredients for Chicken Pie from fridge. Lunch menu for that day was Chicken Pie. As usual, Mak Cik already wash the chicken and diced the bawang besar. I've got new assistant, Malia to help me since my mother-in-law insist my younger sister-in-law to help me in the kitchen, learn how to cook...not that I'm master in kitchen but just to learn the basic.

We managed to do 23 pies. 23 big pies with size of 12cm x 12cm each. The pies were gone/finished by Friday evening.

In the evening, we brought Adran to Kelab Maritim, Putrajaya for a swim. The water there were super cool. Luckily, Adran had his warmer on. That day, we just let him float by himself. He loved swimming. Swimming session, once or twice a month is a must after this.

Friday, 4th February 2011

We went to Lee's in-law house for Majlis Aqiqah for his new niece in the morning and when back before Friday prayer. The door gift is very nice. A flowery Surah Yassin and chocolate. The food was good especially roasted lamb. Yummy.

In the evening, another baking session for Chocolate Walnut Cookies. I start baking from 4.00pm until 8.00pm. So tired.

I used Golden Chunk Butter, Hershey's Cooking Chocolate and Hershey's Chocolate Chips. Love the recipes.

Chocolate Walnut Cookies

Ingredient

250g butter
200g brown sugar
170g castor sugar
2 small eggs
2 tsp vanilla essence
60g cooking chocolate, melted

400g flour
1 tsp soda bicarbonate
1 tsp baking powder

250g chocolate chips
200g almond, walnut or pecan, diced

Method

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line the baking tray with baking sheet or greased with butter.

Beat butter with mixer. Add brown sugar and castor sugar to the mixture. Beat again with mixer.

Add egg to the mixture one by one. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed for each egg added. Then add vanilla essence and follow thru with melted cooking chocolate.

Sieve together flour, soda bicarbonate and baking powder. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to the mixture at a time. Beat until the mixture are well mixed.

Mix in chocolate chips and almond to the mixture.

Using a teaspoon, place the batter on a greased tray and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

* A must try Chocolate Cookies.

Vanilla Cupcakes

Last weekend, we went to Legend Water Chalet with my parent on Thaipusam Day and went back to Seri Kembangan on Saturday. So, on Sunday I baked my usual cupcakes recipe for my aunt and some for my officemate.

Just to share a simple vanilla cupcake recipe.

Ingredients

100g butter
100g sugar
100g flour
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp baking powder
chocolate chips (optional)

Method

Preheat oven to 140 degrees Celsius. Line cupcake pans with paper liners.

Combine butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed.

Add egg to the mixture one by one. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed for each egg added. Then add vanilla essence.

Sieve together flour and baking powder. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to the mixture at a time. Beat until the mixture are well mixed.

Fill liners 1/2 to 2/3 full of batter (I prefer to fill in using piping) and add chocolate chips (optional)

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Cool 5 minutes in pans then remove and place on wire racks to cool completely.

White Chocolate Creme Brulee

Went to Klinik Kita, in front of my office since I'm having a flu. While waiting for consultation, I just grab any available magazine without any cover and began flip thru every page. From fashion to beauty product and lastly to recipe section. There....WHITE CHOCOLATE CREME BRULEE. I took out my Blackberry and snap the recipe.

So, here is the recipe!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup milk
300ml cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
1/4 cup caster sugar
1 tablespoon cornflour
125g white chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup castor sugar

Method

Lightly grease 6 x 1/2 cup heatproof ramekins.

In a saucepan, combine milk, cream and vanilla. Heat over medium fire until almost boiling. Do not boil. (This procedure known as scalding).

In a bowl, beat together eggs, egg yolks, sugar and cornflour. gradually whisk in the milk mixture, then return to the saucepan.

Cook for 2 to 3 minutes over a low fire, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to boil and thickens. Cook over low heat for 3 minutes before blending in chocolate. Remove from heat.

Spoon mixture evenly into prepared ramekins, Cover with plastic wrap, making sure plastic touches the surface of the mixture to prevent a skin from forming.

Chill in the fridge overnight, until firm.

Just before serving, remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle sugar evenly over custard. Place under a hot grill until the sugar melts and is golden brown.

Love this picture. This picture was taken on the way back from Ipoh to Bangi last Monday. Adran felt asleep as soon as we start our journey back.

So, when Man stop for a break at R&R, Adran's woke up. He was smiling to me. I think he is comfortable with his new car seat. We have upgrade to this car seat from his baby carrier cum car seat since the baby carrier cannot cater for his size anymore....his length and shoulder.

Selection of car seat was made by putting him to each car seat and compared his respond to each car seat. He only like two from four of car seat that we choose and this is the cheapest. He knew how to save mummy and papa's money (Actually, another one that he choose was the most expensive...hehehehe).

Love you so much Adran! Happy 6th Months!

Personal Taste

Just finished watching Personal Taste...I loved the drama. There were all elements that I loved in a Korean Drama. Funny, Romantic, Emotion....and the most special about this drama is the hero. LEE MIN HO. I've cried. I've laughed and I've smiled.

Browsing thru internet to find more about Lee Min Ho, I found that his birthday falls on the same day as Adran's birthday. Love it!

In was a coincident....and I just knew about it. Not that I can force myself to labour on that day right?

A Gift

We are currently in Ipoh for the weekend. Adran will be staying with my parents for two weeks and will be back in KL before Christmas since I have to go for study trip to Singapore next week.

I think, I'm gonna cry tomorrow. I never been apart from Adran. This would be my first time and I'm not sure how I'm gonna cope without him for this coming two weeks. And I hope he would be just fine without both of us.

Since I'm going to Singapore.....and targeting to buy watch for myself and my mom, we went to Wata Time to survey the price and get approval from my father. As usual, my father....who never trust anyone would question everything and deep down I knew that we got no chance to have our dream watch.

But fortunately, he said that if they can offer further discount he would buy the watch for me. He is a very good negotiator, so he present me the watch.

For what occasion? Christmas? Of course not....we don't celebrate Christmas. New Year? No! Guess what? His answer : Because 'teran' during giving birth to my precious Adran. Thank you very much Ayah!

I will do anything to have Adran....because Adran is the best Gift from Allah for me. Alhamdulillah.

First Turnover

It's Adran's first time got fever. His temperature shoot to 38 degree Celsius. I'm so worried, but seeing him still happy and kept smiling, I felt relieved.

We have consulted doctor and it was a mild eczema but not to change milk yet. We just have to change his normal Johnson&Johnson Top To Toe to Cetaphil and use Epiceram (skin barrier cream - without steroid - can be applied at face also) and Elomet Lotion (which cannot be use more than 5 days). However, I'm not sure which item that effective, the result....Adran's skin back to normal. For now, I'm using the Cetaphil and Epiceram.
