Spring has Sprung!

noreply@blogger.com (Heather Weisse Walsh) — Wed, 23 Mar 2011 03:19:00 +0000

Spring has sprung! That means grilled cheese sandwiches outside, playgrounds, "calling" horses, and birthday parties with cupcakes.
Eating grilled cheese on the porch at the farm.

Cupcake face. :)
She eats her cupcakes one finger of icing at a time.
Wearing a tutu. How unusual? Thanks for the Disney Princess outfit Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Joe!
Playground! Sporting the new pigtails look. :)

Here's a little video of the Bug and her new favorite word... Every morning, and pretty darn early as of late, we hear this little voice call out from the crib: "Hi. Hi. Hiiiiiiiiiiiii." It's pretty cute, even at 4:30 AM. Then she adds: "Daaaadddd." Sweet! (And yes, I do mean that it equals a few minutes extra sleep for me!)

the reptile look: frog coat and pink crocs

noreply@blogger.com (Heather Weisse Walsh) — Mon, 14 Feb 2011 20:25:00 +0000

It's beginning to feel a lot like... spring. Thanks to Grandma Cathy for the shoes - - we've gotten SO much wear out of them! Gymboree frog coat (2T-3T).

Painting {{or please don't touch the table}}

noreply@blogger.com (Heather Weisse Walsh) — Tue, 11 Jan 2011 15:00:00 +0000

Today, Lila is wearing washable crayola paint. Yeah, I agree. We may need to invest in a few more smocks for our budding Picasso. This is kinda surreal, right?

Watch the master in action. :) Ignore the babbling mother.

How to Eat a Birthday Cupcake

noreply@blogger.com (Heather Weisse Walsh) — Mon, 28 Jun 2010 22:59:00 +0000

Start with a cupcake that's 1/2 frosting, 1/2 cake. A little more frosting than cake is ok, too. You'll need one candle.
While everyone sings "Happy Birthday," test the frosting to make sure it's ok.
Dig in. No hands. (Blow out candle first). But be a little lady and wait until the song is over.
Yum. Frosting.
Make sure to use your tongue for leverage.
Maybe those hand things will work better...Bingo.The one hand grab and stuff.Make a fish face to be sure you get ALL of the icing... out of your nose.Laugh at Mom and Dad. Go directly to tub. Do not pass go. Do not collect $100.

Happy 1st Birthday, Lila Bug!

Carter's "I feel happy" onesie (18 mo) with cap-sleeve white button down sweater (24 mo) and Baby Gap pink romper shorts (18-24 mo). The Lila Bug is a blueberry fanatic - - as evidenced in these recent park picnic pictures! Try and say that five times fast!! This lunchtime expedition reminded me of the Blueberries for Sal book we used to read in elementary school... And did I mention that I LOVE the JJ Cole picnic blanket? It's weighted, water proof and washes effortlessly!
