We then warm the body up with varied Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutations, followed by more intermediate poses. Poses are often sustained for great lengths of time. Conscious breathing along with proper alignment are incremental parts of the entire class. Hands on assistance is used in order to guide students toward achieving the tangible benefits each pose. As the class winds down, we often explore seated poses, followed by inversions. As weight loss and muscle toning develop through regular and dedicated practice, students of Restorative Yoga achieve first an overall sense of health, peace of mind, and a diffusion of adrenaline. Finally, a guided meditation is given to observe any changes in our bodies over the coarse of the class.
