Description: Children across Cardiff will enjoy free play provision through the medium of Welsh over the summer holiday.
Menter Caerdydd, a registered charity working towards ensuring a central place for the Welsh language in Cardiff has been allocated funding from Cardiff City Council to develop Free Play opportunities for children through the medium of Welsh during the summer holidays.

A host of free activities for children from reception class to year six can enjoy free play activities including sports, arts and crafts, cookery, face painting, BBQs and a variety other activities during the holiday.

There is no need to register before hand - just turn up!

GENERAL INFORMATION
All of the weekly sessions are drop in sketching opportunities often with two models, one male and one female in individual and joint poses. These low cost (just £5.00 as a donation for the models) weekly sessions are surely a must for all local artists. Models rotated week on week and a good way to meet models to discuss private projects. Basic art materials are available at each session. Clients of ours get a 10% discount at Inkspot Arts and Crafts.

Description: Think Dita von Teese, Gypsy Rose Lee and Bettie Page – we will take you through peeling, posing and teasing! Slip on your seamed stockings and opera gloves, as Viva Misadventure (Academy of Burlesque & Cabaret) leads you through the glamorous world of retro burlesque-striptease, introducing you to the art of ‘tease’, tassel twirling and the inimitable bump ‘n’ grind. You will be asked to bring different items of clothing each week, and we teach technique and then incorporate it all into dance routines, observing the concepts of character and narrative, as well as the bawdy nature of British burlesque. Our classes are guaranteed to make you feel sassy and confident, whisking you away into a world of glamour and humour – be prepared to realise your alter-ego! Please wear small, comfortable heels if you are comfortable dancing in them. You will be advised on what else to bring week by week. Please note this is the ‘second part’ of the Beginners course, and is suitable for brand new burlesquers and those who have been to the first part of the Beginners course. Props will include gloves, hats, bras, pants (OVER CLOTHES – don’t worry, it’s hilarious!), coats, tassels and brand new routines, as well as re-capping your favourite posing and shimmying routines from last term. WEEK 1: HATS, ideally with a brim – but don’t worry, any hat will do.

When: Thursday nights from Thursday 17 May to Thursday 14 June, 7.30-8.30pm
