Summer Outing

One of the events that we, as a Church family (UCG-Manila), are looking forward to, is the summer outing. We just had it actually and it was one of the best that we had in the same favorite spot because of the privacy that it gives us and the clean water, especially. This time we had an overnight stay which we missed doing for several years. Water is drained and pool refilled at 5pm so we can have night swimming with clean water.Since the water is from the spring it is naturally hot. No need for raypak pool heaters. There is also a billiard table and a videoke machine so everyone can do something fun aside from simply chatting with each other. In the morning, water is drained again and pool refilled for another clean water to swim in till we get ready to go home. That is the main reason why we loved it in the same place over and over again. Nothing beats it yet with the same price or lower, with such privacy for a group our size (around 80) and accessible to us.

UCG-Manila Women’s Club Is Going To Zoobic Safari

We have been planning to go to Zoobic Safari since the summer of last year but it did not materialize. During our last meeting in April 28, it was suggested we go to Mt. Samat but last week one of the members who was not present during that meeting informed us that there is nothing interesting there except for the huge cross which you have to go up through the elevator to see the view from above. The problem is, the elevator is often malfunctioning so you will be forced to take the stairs. With many aged women with us, that will not be feasible so it got scratched out.

We had an emergency meeting last week and it was agreed to go to Zoobic Safari instead. We are going to hire a van to bring us there. It will surely be exciting and it will be my second time to go to the Safari. This time I will make sure my camera is fully charged.

Cutters, Knives And Scissors

If there is anything that would make me buy on impulse, it would be a cutter or a pair of scissors. Yet, I just don’t buy what I see. I still stop and think whether I would like the specific kind or if I have the extra money to buy it at all.

I’m actually a tools person. My family teases me that my bag is not a woman’s bag because it does not even contain powder. Although I do not have any of those box cutters yet, I have several cutters and scissors in my bag together with a set of screwdrivers, manual drill and several blades. I’m sure I will have more. While I don’t keep any in my bag, I also love buying knives.

NSO Found My Document

So last Friday, I, together with my daughter who was willing to wait in an expected long queue just to get the marriage certificate that was not released, went to the National Statistics Office in Pasay. At the last minute, since she was ready anyway, she decided to do the waiting as long as she does not stay alone with her eldest sister at home.

I was sure that all documents that I got (supposedly six) were inserted in a brown envelope until I gave the envelope to hubby before going to work the next day. At the end of the day, he reported to me that there was no marriage certificate, which is what he actually needs. I was sure I applied for it since it was the only pink form. The rest got the white form. Besides, I paid for all six.

When we arrived, I went to the releasing section and I explained what happened. I was told to ask window 9, then 3. The lady at window 3 was having difficulty finding it on record since I did not have the receipt (I gave it to them that day, for them to release the document, but when they gave me the docs, one is missing). It turned out, she was using a different spelling. When I showed her the released receipts, that’s when she found that indeed I ordered the MC. She finally found it and it took us more than an hour. Well, it was better than reapplying for a new one and take us the whole day.

After that, we went malling at the SM Mall of Asia. When we got home, my legs and feet were really tired. We did not even go around the whole of MOA. When we reached home, hubby soon got home too. I teased him: “See, you’re married to me!”

Are You Ready For Mother’s Day?

In a few days it will be the month of May. The 2nd Sunday of May is Mother’s Day. Are you ready to make that day extra special for the person who was the instrument in bringing you to this world?

As for me I do stuff myself since I’m a crafter. What are you up to? Since it is the month of flowers, having a bunch will surely make that day special. Have you seen boston Mother’s day flowers? Who would not fall in love with those arrangements? If it is not feasible for you to buy online then go to the nearest flower shop and have an arrangement there.

She Decided To Stay

Youngest daughter was supposed to come with me to go to the National Statistics Office to get the marriage certificate that was missing when I tried to get it the first time two days ago. Since the eldest came home last night she now has company at home. After learning her possible boring plight she finally decided to stay.

She was hoping that we will go to a fun house after my tasks are done so she can play and get to enjoy finally but learning that my tasks may take longer than she expects, she decided to stay and asked me to come home early so we can go to the nearby fun house. That way she can use the computer at home while waiting.

Bahay-Bahayan (House Pretend)

When I was a child playing bahay-bahayan (as we call it) with my siblings was one of the exciting times then. Shredded and torn pieces of leaves often contain the toy plates for us to pretend eating. There was no separate small house. We just pretend there is. A cabana would be perfect with a small kitchen but we only had the garden. When we pretend to sleep we just bend our heads and do some snoring for about a minute! The game was all about cooking because it is what takes the time of the whole game!

It looks like that kind of pasttime activity of children no longer exist today because of technology. Kind of sad.

Getting Ready For A New Rondalla Piece

Every 5th Saturday of the month, the rondalla ensemble of the Church organization I am affiliated with renders a Special Music. June is supposedly our schedule to perform but since we’re having a Kingdom of God Bible Seminar in Manila that time the next performance would most likely be in September unless there would be an earlier schedule during one of the annual holy days. Another possibility is during the Festival Show during the Feast of Tabernacles in October.

Since we have recycled our music pieces, we’re looking into a new one. Not too difficult so that the children can cope well enough. Last Saturday I was imagining Chopin’s Nocturne Opus 9 to be arranged for rondalla. It doesn’t have to be as strict as the piano rendition. The melody seems feasible. I’ll try to get a copy of the music score. Will probably buy some Dunlop guitar picks too and have some extra in case some get lost.

Joining Giveaways

At least I have won once for joining a worldwide giveaway. The prize was $50. Converted to Philippine pesos, that will go a long way, all in exchange of liking Facebook pages, following Twitter accounts, email subscriptions, etc. Others that I have joined and won are Top Commentator contests. I don’t win often and yet I still join mainly because the FB pages I have liked before are the same FB pages that group together to present a giveaway. All I have to do next is make my entry count. Since the invention of Rafflecopter, joining such giveaways has been easier. Besides, it’s free, so why not take the opportunity?

Living In A Trailer

When I was a lot younger, like before reaching teenage years, the only vehicle I wanted to have is a trailer due to the fact that I can bring everything with me where ever I will go. I do not have to go back where I came from. It will be the best travel wheels I will enjoy, I thought. Up to this time I still find it amusing. The thought of going from one place to another without having to go back to where you first came from is more about saving time and seeing more places rather than not wanting to get back.

Even then, multitasking was already in my psyche. It would be nice to have huge spaces but I’ve always been comfortable with limited space. Rather, I have always made the available space work for me. I was also more of a “tool” girl than a “makeup” girl. Naturally I would be more concerned with having durable curt trailer hitches than making sure I got at least one lipstick. Even my daughter and hubby are teasing me because my bag has a set of screwdrivers and several cutters and no powder! I always have ethyl alcohol and toilet paper, though.

Someday, when I got money to buy my own vehicle, it will probably be a trailer.
