Where can I find the...?

First outfit post after almost 9 months... And I have to be honest why it took me so long. Of course personal time doesn't exist now with two babies. But still you can always find a little time to do some things for you. You must. So time was not really the issue. My body was. It still is. Because though I was really lucky and didn't gain a lot of weight during pregnancy, I managed somehow to gain a few kilos at home the first 3 months. Zero sleep, hormones, breastfeeding and being inside all the time made me eat more. And with the excuse of breastfeeding I really let myself eat a lot...
Now after 7 months and a great effort to lose some weight I can say I feel a bit better. I am starting to feel that my body is mine again and when I see myself at the mirror naked I maybe see a glimpse of the old me. Everyone says it takes one year for your body to return to normal. I will have to trust everybody and be positive. After all these two miracles are worth my jelly tummy and every little "hole" of cellulite on my butt.

But I have to admit it feels good to be back :)

BABIES AND THE CITY

2016-04-22T14:45:00.000+03:00

I was really excited about this project from the moment I heard about it. It sounded so much fun and interesting at the same time.

On a warm, sunny day together with sweet, new Mommy Despoina from youstrikemyfancy we walked like tourists around the beautiful center of Athens having our babies literally on us thanks to our new Stokke® carriers. In our company was also a pediatrician with whom we had an interesting talk about the benefits of baby carriers and he also confirmed how safe and comfortable the new Stokke® My Carrier™ is.

But first I have a confession to make :) Being a mommy of two I got to choose which baby would come with me. And the winner was my girl because well she is thinner than him. So it was purely a weight matter.

So how was my overall experience? Just perfect! Being a fan of Stokke® even before my pregnancy I was pretty sure that the new My Carrier™ would made our walk extremely comfortable and so much fun. And it did! My baby girl is now 5 months so she was able to hold her head a bit high and take a peak of so many beautiful pictures. And then the moment she started to feel tired, she just left her head fall on my chest and slept. No tears, no screams, no whining. She just closed her eyes. Actually I believe that this is the basic secret of the baby carrier itself. I share the same rhythm with my baby while staying closely connected to each other. And this calms us both. And this is the reason I use it inside home as well sometimes. When they cry and can't get to stop them I just put one of them in My Carrier™ and walk around the house. After all babies just want to be carried and this calms them down. And I get to have both my hands free to be able to do stuff around the house. I can't wait to be able to put them facing outwards in a few months when they will support their head. It will be so much fun to watch their reactions to all the things they will see while walking around.

And our daddy in the future will get the chance to carry our babies on his back. Because the Stokke® My Carrier™ is designed to grow together with our baby up to the age of three! So it seems it will be our little "helper" for quite some time.

Why don't you watch the video and see what I'm talking about..

HELLO AGAIN..

It's been a while... Actually very while. Almost 6 months, since I posted anything here. But life with twins is wonderfully... difficult, as you can imagine. I have to dedicate my whole time and soul to them first, before I can start to think a little about me, again. And what I'm trying to do here takes time, and time now is a luxury for me. But after 5 1/2 months I feel more myself, more able to find a couple of hours just for me. This blog, this space will undoubtedly change because my life has changed. So stay tuned and let's see where this will get us.

*LBD: the long, black dress.

31 weeks (=8 months) with a bump that looks more like 36 weeks (=9 months)...Literally feeling like I'm ready to pop because the babies are growing fast, thank God. Their movements now have significantly changed, I don't feel so much kicks as their whole bodies moving around. It's so strange and beautiful to feel them all day - and night - long. I think they are very active - especially the girl. She is moving all the time but I'm afraid she might feel a bit tight in there and she just tries to find a more comfortable position.

Talking about comfortable though and since I 'm trying to keep on going with the fashion identity of this blog, these kind of dresses are the only ones I can bare to wear. Fortunately I will give birth at the end of October so there won't be a need to wear heavier and warmer clothes - especially pants. I can't manage to get in maternity trousers at all, I feel they're too tight at the bump area. I hope the Greek weather won't let me down this year and will continue to give us some sunny days until then.

VELVET TEEN

2015-09-16T14:27:00.001+03:00

Velvet had been popping up in front of my eyes for these couple of months like crazy. The first velvet item that caught my eyes was a pair of deep green velvet pumps by Gianvito Rossi that were immediately sold out. From that moment on every week that I was checking the new arrivals, there would be at least 2 items that were velvet.

I like velvet material, though I have always thought that it was a bit "heavy" and for limited use since it seems a bit more formal. But now that I've been checking it out a lot I find myself thinking of a velvet blazer or blouse with a pair of sneakers or velvet high heels with a denim overall.

STRIPES DO WORK

2015-09-03T16:28:00.001+03:00

Photos Marita Amorgianou

There's something with stripes and pregnancy. I hope it's only me. Because I've always been fond of a good, old French-y striped tee, but currently I'm counting around 5 striped pieced in my wardrobe - all of them purchased during my pregnancy. I guess it's more fun to wear stripes with a popped belly..Right? And also I think it's kinda cute.

And so we're back from our short baby moon vacation after 2 weeks. It's hard to return to work after holidays, especially when you carry a 7 month twin bump... But I'm counting backwards now. In just a few weeks I will have my maternity leave, so I will have some more time to get properly prepared for the arrival of our babies. Apart from the basic nursery's furniture - meaning 2 cribs - I haven't done anything else yet and I'm afraid the to do list is endless. But although I consider myself to be a freak with organization and preparation, at this particular phase of my life I find myself being ultimately cool and relaxed because the only thing that matters to me is for everything to go well with the pregnancy. After that we will sort everything out easily.

FINDING THE PERFECT PAIR OF MATERNITY JEANS

2015-08-11T01:02:00.000+03:00

Photos Marita Amorgianou

Maternity jeans was the first and almost only thing I got from the maternity department. From the first trimester I had trouble button my favorite jeans, although I was 7kg less than before getting pregnant. I felt them really tight at my stomach, so I had to find a pair of jeans. And I did find the perfect boyfriend fit from Isabella Oliver, that suits me better than the regular ones. Because it's really important to feel as if you haven't changed the way you dress. You might think you're going to explode any minute now, but you can feel you are almost the same as before. Almost.. ;)

If you're expecting too, you should check the whole collection here, because they have amazing pieces.

OBTAINED BEFORE THE BUMP

Swimsuit: Marysia | Skirt: Lisa Marie Fernandez | Sunnies: Hubbie's Tom Ford

Here are the 2 pieces I bought just before I learnt I'm pregnant and didn't have the chance to enjoy wearing. This amazing Marysia halterneck swimsuit and my favorite gingham skirt by Lisa Marie Fernandez. The first I didn't enjoy because I had to wait for the weather and sea to be warm, so when the time came the belly has popped and the swimsuit didn't fit perfectly on me. Especially on the upper area. So I admit that I mainly wear it for outfit reasons. This baby didn't go to the beach this summer :) The skirt which is really loose and light I would have wear it a couple of months ago but it was the period I was in bed, so I actually didn't go anywhere. Now if I wear the skirt and leave the top buttons oped, I feel a bit like a parachute. :)))

ALMOST IN A HOLIDAY MOOD

Current mood: counting down for holidays. Can't wait for our mini, sort of "baby moon" trip. Actually it's far from a baby moon because we must stay quite close to the city in case of an emergency, so no turquoiz waters for us this summer. But I honestly don't care, I just want a clear, warm sea to swim in and enjoy the feeling of lightness. I guess all of you who have experienced pregnancy during summer and had the chance and luck of swimming can understand what I'm talking about. When you're in the water you get to feel so light, like you don't have a bump at all. And I guess it's good for the babies too... The only problem is that you don't fit in your old bikinis and chic swimsuits. At least I don't, since my bra size has increased dramatically and none of my old bikinis fit me at that particular area. It's unbelievable how my body has changed even from the first trimester and even now I keep staring at my bump when I look myself in the mirror.

BRICK RED SHADES

Photos Marita Amorgianou

Who would have thought that during pregnancy I would wear tight, pencil dresses and actually feel awesome in them..I think it has to do with the fact that both my belly and breasts are quite big now so they draw attention from my previous Mediterranean figure. My body shape is much straighter now and I quite like it :). But I shouldn't get used to it because I think that after 3 - 4 weeks it won't feel the same. Especially if I keep eating what I'm eating these last days... I am feeling much better, obviously.
I'm 23 weeks now, already feeling heavier and I cannot stop thinking with horror the upcoming heatwave that's gonna hit Athens in the next days.

t.

PS: Wearing heels was mainly for outfit reasons. I might feel awesome in straight dresses but with high heels legs look better, right?

It's been so long I haven't posted on the blog that it feels almost strange..Almost 5 months?

Something like that since I am now 6 months pregnant! But it was impossible for me to keep up "blogging" since I had a really, really tough 1st trimester, which actually lasted 4 months and a little more. I actually had a rare complication called hyperemesis gravidarum characterized by ceaseless nausea and vomiting which resulted to severe dehydration, so I had to receive fluids and electrolytes through IV for a week. Honestly I experienced one of the most difficult periods of my life and I felt so bad because on the one hand I was feeling extremely blessed that I was pregnant, but on the other hand I was feeling extremely sick and as if I wouldn't be able to get through it.

BUT! Since the title is "confessions" I have something else to share with you :).........

We are expecting twins!!! Twins!!!
Ok, I admit that the moment we realized it we were truly shocked. We were still a bit shocked and afraid afterwards. Actually we couldn't believe it since we have no twins background in our families, so the doctor said it is pure luck! There is 1 possibility out of 80 to have twins. He also explained that twins pregnancy is quite likely to be difficult at the beginning and it might have been the reason of the severe symptoms I was experiencing.

But the most important thing is that the babies are fine, I'm feeling well and finally able to fuly experience this unique period. My bump is quite big now, though I just entered 6th month, and I already feel heavy and tired and hot. Very hot! But it's natural right? I'm carrying 2 babies. A little boy and a little girl. And I cannot stop smiling...

It's been a while since I last posted an outfit. I actually wasn't in the mood for it, maybe because of all the wedding preparations, the craziness at work, a few pounds gaining... This last reason was really annoying. It was as if I was trying to see how quickly and easily I can gain 3 whole kilos. And you know what? It is so easy in just one month. But you know. I'm back now with a whole new attitude, new plans and... a very effective diet that I think suits me.

From time to time the sun is shining again so it feels like summer is slowly coming. Everything look better if I think that way,

If you had to choose the "styling thing"of the day what would it be? I mean like right now. What is the "thing" that keeps popping on every street-style site? It's so easy guys to both find it and do it. It only needs a long - really long - belt, to loop it and then leave it hanging there. You know Acne created this belt mainly for this reason. To do the "thing" easily. So chop chop get all your old, long thin or wide belts and do the thing. You'll be surprised to see that it elevates any single jacket or coat or shirt. I could go on and on.
