BTW: We’re moving to once-a-week-on-Wednesdays just for this week and next week. October has turned into the usual mass of engagements, conventions, social bits and all sorts of fun stuff (with plenty of work in there, too!) and I didn’t get a chance to plan out the October strips yet. As such, doing one a week for these first 2 weeks will give me a chance to get caught up without losing too much sleep. Thanks for understanding!

Any guesses on who Carson is cosplaying in this panel? For those keeping track and looking for clues before she gets her time in the spot-light, we’ve seen her dressed as a pirate for Opening Night, and then we know she heads out as Diana from the D&D cartoon at some point this week, but what is she today?

For those who don’t recognize the bit of metal that are the subject of today’s snippet, they are dowsing rods, common tools of “water witching” and have found an application in some paranormal circles as well. I haven’t used them, myself, but I have used other non-scientific methods.

I love the effectiveness of a single raised eyebrow. I love drawing them but I’m also more than a little jealous as that is not a section of muscle isolation I’ve been able to master.

A friend of mine told me she taught herself how to do it–hasn’t worked for me, yet. But, then, I suppose I’m easily distracted.

I don’t know, seems like Sophie is stacking favors left and right. I hope she doesn’t get in over her head, now.

It’s surprising, but I’ve really not had that many opportunities to draw someone rolling their eyes–especially in profile.

We meet a new member of the supporting cast this week, Maria, Sophie’s older sister who has managed to get out from Momma’s overprotective thumb somehow. She’s not a geek, but loves her little sister enough to cover for her. Hopefully it won’t come back to bite her on the ass. (Yeah, right.)

Still, for now their little game is going well. Ah, technology…

Secret Mission Sophie? If you remember, Sophie is attending Geekathon under a certain amount of subterfuge. This is just maintenance.
