Made from Japanese cotton and Japanese Tenugui (japanese towels). One of my absolute precious fabric.

I’ve been craving for chocolate moist cakes since last Sunday… yesterday was a disappointment because my sister promised to bring home some cakes and when she came home… NO CAKE !!!

So today, we’re going out to get the cake!!!!

Meanwhile, I am the happiest girl at home today… beeee-cossss I got new stash of fabric {enough to share some in my shop!…}.

Some updates …

I’ve started sewing again… {with my machine}… I realised I got too used to using the “hand button”, that today I decided to use the stepper (is that what we call it?), and my hands and legs just don’t coordinate well. I don’t know if you understand what I’m trying to say hahaha… Oh well, I made a few bags with my very limited Japanese tenugui fabric . Will post photos later, as I am too lazy to get my camera out now.

The past weeks has been crazy! Filled with preparing for this very very important presentation for my day job ~ the BIG DAY is tomorrow. Fingers cross, that the “panel of judges” approve us to present our strategy to the board… this will bring a lot of savings to the category *fingers cross…please please please*

Back to some lighter {and craftier} subject, I’ve been making lots and lots and LOTS of my kawaii sticker tapes!!! Love them, and they are easy to make.

Meanwhile, I haven’t stop my “spring cleaning” yet… it has been going slow, a little at a time… and before I could finish another section of my room, I’ve managed to mess up the one I cleared earlier *hah!*

But something good came out of this… I will soon have a “jumble sale” online… of all the unused goodies I have been stashing in my craft room !!! How about that? Look out for it ya…

Inspirations I have a lot… from you and yours… each and everyone of your creative deeds and daily lives inspire me to create… But time I have very little. With the pressure of my day job (even though I work from home) and people around me demanding for my time… by the end of the day I am just exhausted {plus the age thing coming in… hehehe}.

Here’s some crafty bits I’m trying to accomplish.

Teaching myself how to quilt. Still very green in using the blanket stitch function on my sewing machine… and learning the technique of quilting.

Lesson 1 ~ I should have use an interfacing… see photo below – how the fabric pull while I sew blanket stitch all around? *sad* It’s ok I guess.. so now it’s time to decide what fabric to use for the back.

Lesson 2 ~ See I was trying to create the Zig-zag pattern, but after sewing all the triangles… I noticed that my zig-zags have a “blunt” tip *oh gwak*… {but at least they are consistently “blunt” all over… }… so ugly!!! Oh well… I decided to stop this quilt and make use of this tiny piece to make a flex frame pouch.

This is what I’ve been up to since yesterday. Cutting and cutting lots of square blocks for a 2 projects. And I got a new rotary cutter (the blue one)!! It is small and cute… and it comes with perforated blades too! Yay!

Can you imagine.. from my many years of sewing this and that… it’s only now I started using rotary cutter. And they are super wonderful!

Oh.. did I mention… those grid rulers up there… they’re new too! My cousin Annette ordered online for me. Thanks Annette! Double YAY!

In the mean time… what’s taking up my tiny creative space are 40 spools of crystal thread… which was delivered today. They are for my other project at church ~ Rosary making ~ one of our BEC is making 1200 Rosaries to be donated to people in Russia and Afrika. Tomorrow we’re be packing them up and distributing to volunteers to make the Rosaries !

I also printed more of my Whimsy Loft labels… this time I tried a new print-on fabric from Japan. Will list this fabric in my online shops as soon as the stock comes in!

And, here’s for some crafty updates ::

I made a display frame for myself, to display all my handmade earrings. It is very simple… I glued paper doilies and some cream coloured cotton laces on an Ikea bought frame. Mom said it looks kinda vintage… hmmm… and I think she’s right

I enjoyed making these earring in the past week. It’s easy, therapeutic and takes only a total of 1 hour to complete the whole lot there!
These are for selling at the Family Day in church (fingers cross, I get the green light!)

And with that… I figured I needed some packaging… so out came scissors, blade, glue, some cardboard, nice Chinese motived paper in teal, ribbons… and my reliable Whimsy Loft sticker tag!

2 hours later, they are all nicely packed. (Took me longer to make the packaging than the earrings!!!)

All done. YAY !!!

Do you like my fabrics?

Well, I’m back and ready to start crafting again!

I’ve been asked by someone to give a simple tutorial on how I made this rosary purse.  I hope my explaination below is clear. Please ask me if you have any questions

I use to sew by hand when using felt, but now with my spanking new sewing machine, I can now sew on felt! Yay! So this tutorial, I machine {blanked stitch} the purse… but of course you can sew by hand if you wish.

1. Cut 2 rectangle pieces of felt. In photo, the blue is for the inside/lining, and flower is for the outside. They measure 14″ x 5″ each.

2. Put the 2 pieces on top of each other, and blanket stitch on one of the 5″ end.

3. Fold the felt into 2 lengthwise (like the photo), and cut a small curve on the other 5″ end (the one that is now sewed).

4. Then, fold the felt like the photo (to resemble the purse) and marked the place where you want to put the buttons. I use pop buttons this time. But you can use velcro or even buttons with button holes.

5. Now, after you have made the markings, open the felt and sew the buttons on. Make sure that you sew the button on only one layer of the felt. This is so that your sewing will not show through the lining of the purse.

6. Ones done, fold the felt again to resemble the purse. This is where u trim off any access felt. Usually the lining/inside felt will show out (like the photo).

7. Then, blanked stitch all around the 3 sides to make the purse!
