I know I’ve neglected my shop. But it’s alright, I will be having a SALE as soon as it takes me to get photos taken and listed. I promise to do this ASAP.

Meanwhile, 2 easy projects I started 2 weeks ago is completed. Bias tape sewing is not one of my favourite, but this time I found it rather therapeutic (handsewing!).

Cloth peg hanger for my laundry. Pattern from the Cath Kidston book Sew!. I changed the top slightly (not slanting like in the pattern) to suit the hanger I planned to use.

Then there is this apron I made for myself. Love the prints! I bought this lovely fabric in The Hague.

I’ve been sewing… but it’s slow moving. Mainly because still busy with work, and some personal worries that’s taken up most of my concious mind and it has become quite draining (even to sew *sad*)

2011 started with me having to travel more often than not for work. I’ve been spending most of my time in Holland and Singapore. Hotel rooms has become my second home . After almost 7 months of intensive travelling, I am finally back home with no immediate plan to board the plane. I’m glad.

The next time I board the plane, it would be going for my long planned for vacation cum pilgramage. I’m going to Spain!!! To see the Pope !!!! And to walk 30km a day for 5 days. Yippie!

Nothing crafty done by me in this post (i’m going to correct this soon)… except that I bought myself this book :

And it comes with a kit to make my own bag! Horray!

I have this buzzing thought that I should re-arrange my fabric according to colour group. Currently they are arranged according to purchase batch (which is the easiest way). Well maybe I will

I suspect it’s the thread tension. Tried correcting it, but somehow it didn’t work .

My latest project I whipped up yesterday and today.

The white one is nicely sewn (b4 the machine got sick…), but the yellow one has missing stitches, crooked stitches… and I don’t know how to correct them !!!! Gosh I’m hopeless !!!

So, through ebay, I bought my first bottle of Mod Podge Outdoor. The idea was that a week or so later, when I’m home, the bottle of mod podge would have reached my doorstep and I can start my projects!

But no… it didn’t arrive. I waited and waited, got all my other supplies ready and it still didn’t arrive. In my haste to get my project started, I went to the local craft store in 1 Utama, and bought myself a Mod Podge Fabric. Guess what it was $5 cheaper than ordering online .

I got myself a Mod Podge Fabric, and I started using this on wood… hehe… turned out okay, I wouldn’t know the differences between the different types of mod podge anyways, as long as it serves it’s purpose of decoupaging and not destroying my work. Good enough for me.

Then yesterday, the postman brough me this….

He came in a large van, holding out a cardboard box size of a shoe box…

… and lo and behold it was my mod podge!

Making blocks and blocks of images of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, meant as gifts to my friends.

But until I master the skill of wood work and painting to get the perfect image on a perfect block, these remains in my possessions.

For now, I’m sawing, sandpapering, and painting. Messy. But loving every bit.

I’m back!

Such a cliche

I was in Holland at least 3 weeks in each month for the past 5 months. Had a wonderful time working plus sightseeing during the weekends.

I know I could have blogged from there, but I was too tired after work daily (tough project, trust me!).

But now I’m back with no project (until next week ).

So I fill my days with crafty projects instead.

I’ve been back home almost 2 weeks now. 

Towards the end of my trip, while I was on the plane back I kept on thinking about what to make when I came home. Miss crafting so much

I wasn’t all quiet the past 2 weeks, have been trying out a new craft. More to come soon…

I saw the end on winter and the begining of spring. BEAUTIFUL!

Tired but happy.

They all look the same after a while, but I enjoyed myself walking in the garden and taking lots of photos!
