I just want to say Hi to all friends who follow my blog for the last 10 years or so. I was taken a long break in hobbies, and it's time to start back to the hobbies slowly. Anyway, just want to say Hi.

Update on Ko-shamo pair

2013-03-03T00:28:00.000-08:00

Update on the ko-shamo pair. They look better and better everyday. I really love them. Cant wait for the hen to mature and lay some eggs.

Ko-shamo

2012-12-05T03:22:00.001-08:00

It's been a while since I update this blog. Lots of thing change this year.
*Shama breeding project has to be put on hold for now with no end date in near future.
*O-shamo gamefowl breeding project also has to put on hold indefinitely.
*For the serama, I'm starting with new blood line from Jerry Schexnayder. He is the "father" of all serama in the US. http://www.scnaonline.org/
*New project: Another miniature fowl that I recently acquire is the pair of Ko-shamo. This will be an interesting project as these fowl are not widely keep in poultry community. Ko-shamo is somewhat ancient breed that hold true characteristic of what a gamefowl should be but in miniature form. In short, I love them! I took these pics of the pair right after they arrive to my place. They are very active, alert, look great, and show lots of potential to be a show worthy.

O-Shamo

2012-02-03T18:09:00.000-08:00

Recently, I'm starting to get much interest on this type of large gamefowl: O-shamo. Similar to other type of large gamefowl such as Asil, Malay, Ga Noi, Thai, Brazilian, etc... O-shamo is one of the heaviest and tallest oriental gamefowl. A cock can stand 30+in and weight 10+ lbs. I should have some eggs in the incubator soon. Can't wait to hatch some of these :)

Year end update

2011-12-19T08:28:00.001-08:00

2011 is almost end and it was another sucessful year, but not without some failure. Toward the end of the year, with some personal issues, i did not have much time to take care of the birds as i normally would so i had to reduce my bird collection to only 2 pair of shama and few doves. I do not know i can have much time in the up coming new year to take care and breeding shama as before, but i am sure still involve in keeping and breeding them. Wake up early in the morning everyday and listen to their song relax me. To all shama fans around the world: wish you have a wonderful Christmas and great new year! A very sucessful breeding year with lots of very nice shama's babies! P.s. there is a new forum for all the shama lover out there. Please join the forum if you can to learn and share your experiences in shama keeping. The website address is www.shamaclubsingapore.lefora.com Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

2011-07-05T16:12:00.000-07:00

17 days later since the last post, today I found one egg hatched from the Troupial (Icterus icterus) pair. So excited!

Incubation of Venezuela Troupial

Counting to the day the eggs hatch!

Troupial (Icterus icterus) female starts to incubate

2011-06-22T20:58:00.000-07:00

I don't know exact when the female starts to incubate her eggs, but I began to notice on last Sunday 06/19/2011. I have no idea how many eggs in the nest and whether the eggs will hatch or not, but this is a huge step toward my goal of breeding Venezuela Troupial sp. According to all the information i can gather from internet, books, etc.. Female troupial will incubate her eggs for about 15-16 days, and fledge in 22-23 days.
