Our Wedding: A Special Moment

2011-06-18T12:16:00.001-05:00

On the day of the wedding,

while all of us girls were getting ready,

my sister handed me a gift from my now husband...

I had no idea what to expect but what what I saw first was the school picture from my sophomore year in high school.

I had given the piture to him and written my phone number on the back along with the message,

"We are SO going to chill this weekend!"

And we did.

He called me that weekend and we went on our first date.

That was eight years ago!

I had no idea that he still had that picture,

and as if that weren't enough,

he also wrote a letter that brought every one of us to tears...

AND, I got an iPhone!

Then, I had to have my make-up re-done.

It was definately a moment that I will NEVER forget,

confirming everything I already knew about

how lucky I was to be marrying this man!

Our Wedding: Preparations

2011-06-14T09:46:00.001-05:00

During the planning process, I recieved great advice to try to have everything done at least a week before the wedding- that way the week of is left for pampering and spending time with friends and family that have come into town.
I loved the idea of that!

And although I did my absolute best to have all of the little details done, there were just a few things that had to wait.

Fortunately, my friends and family were more than willing to help the day before the wedding and it all came together perfectly.

My Cousin Janie and Aunt Jennifer tying
bubbles on programs and tags on napkins.

Napkin tags tied and ready!

Another project:
Putting all of the place cards onto bulletin boards

Some of my bridesmaids and I making
our flower arrangements.

And a HUGE thanks to all of my eager helpers!
It was a fun day!

I'm Back!

"Lilac Love" from Green Wedding Shoes

As of late...

2011-04-11T15:01:00.000-05:00

6 weeks from today,

Jordan and I are off to Costa Rica as

Husband and Wife!

Can't wait!

This past weekend was very productive

as far as planning goes.

We made final decisions on cake(as seen here)

and flowers.

We chose hydrangeas for our flowers

and while we are using a florist for our bouquets,

we are going to be putting together the centerpieces ourselves!

We also visited with Diane at Cragun's, again,

to finalize details for everything from the rehearsal to the dancing.

The only thing that was unsettling while we were there

was just exactly how frozen the lake is still.

Being that Brainerd is 2 hours North of where we are,

they are just that much further behind in thawing out from winter.

In fact, they had another foot of snow just over a week ago!

Our fingers are crossed for some serious spring weather in the next 6 weeks

to melt that ice;)

Other than that,

it has been so much fun recieving RSVPs in the mail!
We are so pleased with the turnout so far!

And, I am looking forward to another wonderful shower

hosted by Jordan's aunts this weekend!

Another Great Etsy Purchase

2011-04-05T09:04:00.001-05:00

I am loving my latest wedding purchase, the ring pillow!

I found it here.

The seller also sent me some extra lace to tie onto the flower girl basket or bouquet.

Plus, I love how it ties in with my burlap banners.

Remember these?

It's all coming together!

"Sole"Mates

2011-04-04T08:09:00.000-05:00

Okay, here it is!

I have had a few people ask what shoes they should wear for our outdoor wedding.

Being that the wedding is in the grass, I know they are concerned about their heels sinking into the ground.

The solution?

SoleMates.

These discreet little protectors attatch easily to most high heeled shoes and increase the surface area which helps to prevent you from sinking into the ground and keeps your heels clean.

They come in multiple colors and can be found online or in these retailers.

So, wear the shoes you'd like and don't forget your

SoleMates!

Link Love: A Cup of Blonde

2011-04-02T09:46:00.000-05:00

I can't believe how fast this week flew by!

And here we are in the first weekend of APRIL?

We can officially say we are getting married NEXT month!

How crazy is that?

Needless to say, while I have been slacking in the blogosphere,

my favorite bloggers have been hard at work.

In this weekend's edition of Link Love,

I wanted to share a blog written by a mutual friend, and fellow hairstylist, that is quickly becoming one of my faves!

Ally writes "A Cup of Blonde", a fashion blog that covers anything from easy DIY hairstyles:

to the latest must haves for spring:

Reality Sets In...

2011-03-29T08:34:00.000-05:00

It's hard to explain, but when you are 2 months out from the wedding, and your to-do list begins to include things like:

sending out invitations: working on it now
doing a practice run through of your hair and make-up: practiced my hair yesterday!
finalizing contracts with your bakery and florist, etc: contracts are in the mail
Planning the ceremony: we meet with our pastor this week
shopping for the honeymoon: always

...Reality sets in.

Here's to the last 53 days of wedding planning!

Rainy Day Weddings

2011-03-22T08:48:00.000-05:00

It is a rainy day in Minneapolis, today.

As our outdoor wedding is fast approaching,

I am well aware of the possibility of rain on our BIG day.

So, in an attempt to embrace whatever Mother Nature throws at us,

and a reminder of the things we cannot control,

this morning, I bring you some rainy wedding day inspiration.

I never envisioned a destination wedding for myself,

but seriously, after seeing these photos,

I would reconsider.

The following shoot was styled by Grey Likes Weddings and photographed by Troy Grover.
The bride is beautiful, the decor is simple, the bar is stocked and the scenery: amazing!
