2012 Planner - Well I am good at planning & so need a planner

Either to Plan to Fail or Fail to Plan I do neither of them. I do not Plan to fail as I plan to succeed and I never Fail to Plan.

Well its always assumed that creative people are spontaneous and they do not like to plan, well I beg to differ as I am a prt of the Corporate World Planning is a part of my daily routine, so how do the corporate & the creative world meet... well by creating a beautiful planner.

Yes guys I am well in time for my new year, I have made a Planner for myself thats absolutely GORGEOUS.

Its a nice compact size and looks ultra fab with the Tim Holtz Paper line. It has 6 pages, 1 page for every two months. ON eage page I have two months calendar, a Monthly Planner Tag with one month on each side to mark my appointments. A small four-sided insert that takes care of Bithdays & Anniversaries, Important Dates, Contact Number and a small space for some crucial notes.

As a loving son, dad & husband I love to travel with my family pictures, so there is one side on each page dedicated to pictures.

On the inside front cover I spaces for those little nicks and nacks like fuel bills, dinner bills etc to claim expenses. another two pockets for little scribbling pads and one large space for my Family picture.

This is a really beautiful planner again inspired by a project done by Kathy Orta (Thank you...Kathy).

The closure for the planner is also rugged with two antique brads from Stampin Up and a piece of Linen thread.

Well this is a male version of the planner, hope you guys like it. Do leave me a feedback I would love to read your comments.

Mini Album thats not so Mini

Well as the title suggests this Mini Album is really not a Mini. It can hold over 60 pictures can you beat that and it has only 4 pages. This Album is inspired by the Build a page concept by Kathy Orta.

She is an amazing crafter, fabulous tutor and a wonderful person. I have learnt this from her and she is a super Creative Women, full of life and energy.

This Mini Album is 5 x 7 inches and I made this for a swap. I have use basic Card Stock to create the pages and have used the Basic Grey Wander Collection to cover the pages and the cover. I did not embellish it much as I have to courier it to my partner.

Pages with Tags

Each page holds around 14 pictures and most (9 to be exact) of them are full size (4 x 6) and the other 5 are 3 x 3, now that's a lot of pictures for a Page, it is a clever construct hence the album does not look bulky yet can hold so many pictures.

There a pocket on the Inside Front Cover & Inside Back cover giving you more space for Photos and also there is a tag which can again hold a almost full size picture.

The binding is very simple and elegant, it looks like a well bound book. I am so much in love with this album that at one point I felt like not mailing it to my partner (sshhhh... don't tell her this).

However a man who stands by his words, I shall not fall to such temptations and have finally couriered this album to her.

Masculine Monday on a Sunday

The kimono is the traditional clothing of Japan. There are many different types of kimono worn by men, women, and children. The cut, color, fabric, and decorations of a kimono may vary according to the sex, age, and marital status of the wearer, the season of the year, and the occasion for which the kimono is worn.

The Kimono Card is a simple adaptation of this traditional outfit and can be decorated and customized for the required occasion, be it a Birthday card, Thank You Card or Miss You Card. By changing the paper, colour, it can be customized to any occasion.

Masculine Monday is back...

I know it has been almost 4 weeks since I have posted a Masculine Monday post. My Mom had to undergo a Bypass surgery and we were all in the hospital and helping her recover. She is now back home and now doing well.

I will soon be posting a tutorial on this Waterfall album, however the paper & the colors would change.

Masculine Monday...

Hey there, yes I promised last Monday to write this post, however life has its own game plan. Something else needed immediate attention and so the delay. The best part is that I am back (for good).

Masculine cards are always tricky when it comes to choice of colors, paper, embellishments etc. You cannot use too much of floral designs, ribbons, bling and so many dos and dont's. So keeping this challenge in mind I have thought of starting this regular series wherein I will be sharing with you a Masculine Card / Project every Monday.

We all need Birthday Cards, all the time and when it comes to creating a Birthday Card for a Man we are just thinking so a simple yet creative card 'Centre Panel Card' the uniqueness about this card is it is dimensional, so can stand upright, for display, its interesting and gives you a lot of opportunity to be creative.

The supplies that you need for this card are as follows -

It's great to be back...

It is so amazing to be back and connect with all you friends. I know it has been a year long silence... well I had taken a sabatical to just attend to some important aspects of my life. Now that all of it has been taken care off, I am back and yes back here for good.

I have always loved your on going support on all my projects and other wise, I have planned some wonderful activties for my blog, you will get to know in this week. Yes everyday will be a surprise.

This is my first post after I have returned, soon you will see the 1st post 'Masculine Monday' (Oops I gave out the 1st surprise...) well I guess its fine with my friends.

So stay tuned in the next few hours you will have the first surprise.

Altered Note Book - Musical...

The Newsprint DSP from Stampin Up is just so amazing, there are two sheets you get with musical notes printed on it. I used this sheet to cover my daughters music note book. I achieved a vintage look my using Stampin Up's calssic inks Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard & Chocolate Chip. Using circular motion with the piece of sponge. Then I stamped the medallion from the Artistic Etchings set using More Mustard and my daughters name Zehra using the Rough Alphabet set.

The spine has be stamped using Chocolate Chip ink on Chocolate Chip paper with another stamp from teh same set. I have then covered the edges by sponging Chocolate Chip ink all around.

Love @ first sight ... Sentimental Journey

I want to personally thank the designer of this versatile stamp set from Stampin Up. It is a simply superb stamp set with images to die for. The Airplane, suitcase, car, sentiments...they are all so cool and fabulous. This is the first image I am posting with this fabulous stamp set (many more to come). This is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card using Very Vanilla & Chocolate Chip card stock from Stampin Up.

1) Cut the card from a 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of card stock (each sheet gives you 2 standard cards - isn't that awesome) vertically at 4 1/4 inch.

2) Score it at 5 1/2 and get a crisp fold using the Stampin Up Bone folder (another must have tool from Stampin Up).

3) Cut a piece of Chocolate chip card stock at 4 x 5 1/4 inches.
4) Stamp the images on scraps of Very Vanilla Card stock using Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and cut the images leaving a 1/8 of an inch border.
5) Cut the word TRAVEL into individual letters.
6) Pop the images on the Chocolate Chip piece post adhering it to the base card with Stampin Up Dimensional
7) Pop the word TRAVEL in a zigzag manner vertically.

Team Chic n’ Scratch first Blog Hop

I am participating in the first Blog Hop, first time a Team Chic n’ Scratch Blog Hop, the first time I am using the Artistic Etchings and have first time tried the vintage background technique. This makes it a 4 times first time attempt. Hope you guys like what I have done.

Ashlee my side line from Team Chic n’ Scratch had this brilliant idea of doing a Blog Hop, Ashlee Thank you, you are simply awesome and superb, finally most of us did participate in the Blog Hop some early some late as most of us are first time Blog Hoppers.

The card that I have made is a wonderful technique that I have seen on a lot of video’s on You Tube. The background was created on Very vanilla and sponging the background using circular motion – the colors used are Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard and Close to Cocoa. Then I took the second impression of the medallion from the Artistic Etchings. Later using Chocolate Chip I stamped the Eifel tower, Text.

The card has a vintage appeal, I cut out a stamped crown and used rhinestone brad to add the bling. A strip of Choco Chip with an impression with Versa Mark and rhinestone brads breaks the uniformity of the background and adds additional dimension to the card.

Post-it Note Key Rings

These are just adorable little projects that can be used to gift someone on their birthdays, general ocassions like friendhsip day, doctors day, teachers day. Smart, useful and very handy. I made two with key rings & one was the Match box Post it pad.

The Post-it pad I used was 2 x 3 inches hence the finished size was 2 1/8 inches width & 3 1/8 inches in height.

I just got my Butterfly Emossilit die and had to use it what better than these cute little note pads. I just adore these what do you feel.

Monochromatic Birthday Card

This Birthday card has been inspired by the Dynamic Duo combination from the earlier color coach. Color coach is one of the best tools provided by Stampin up to get you started. Also the elements of style stamp set needed to be inked, this is the first time I ma using it (I love this stamp set ...)

As suggested by Shelli in most of her forums and discussions that the envelope and the inside should not be naked, I have used the bird & the Birthday wishes along.

A Quick card to make, simple yet elegant. Of course I forgot mention the little bling with the rhinestone brads...awesome.

Business Card Holders

Business Card Holders a must for every professional, what best can a paper crafter create to gift to his friends. Something handmade, something that one can use daily and something unusual. The Business Card Holders have CASEd from a video I saw on You tube, the basic structure is from the video, customisation of the front and sizes are done by me. These make wonderful Birthday Gifts for colleagues, friends and even acquaintances when you do want to gift them, but do not know much about them.

Finished size is 2 inches by 314/16 inches approx.

Photo Wallet Once Again

This is one of the most amazing ideas created in Paper Crafting (though I am not the creator), however I feel the Photo Wallet is such a nice, personalised gift for any occassion. I simply cannot get over it, this can be used as a travel album, birthday album, party album, anything that's personal and you want to share it with your friends. The size is just so convenient that it can be carried in your purse, bag. Love it and thank you to the creator of this wonderful project.

The colours used are my favourite colors grey white and the ribbon is the icing on the cake. It looks so wonderful. Don't you guys love it.

Goodie Box for cute friends

The enthusiasm, energy and the efforts that the new blood puts into any system is very contagiuos. Yes I am talking about two young Interns we had for a period of two months at my organisation - my team to be precise.

These Girls were surely packed with energy, ideas and the willingness to achieve the best. They constantly won hearts with their commitment and dedication to the projects, assignments and tasks given to them. So I decided to give them a token of appreciation, what best could it be then a Handmade Goodie Box.

The Goodie Box contains a Photo Wallet(my favourite), a Post it Pad, a Pen and a miniature clutch to hold their little nicks (I am sure girls have a lot of small things in their bags...)

The finished size of the box was 41/2 inches x 5 inches.

A gift for Mom

I made this Photo Wallet for Mom with a few pictures taken while Dad was unwell, the pictures have all of us in the Family - Mom, Brother, Sister in Law, Wife and our Kids. This Photo Wallet was inspired by a few videos I had seen on You Tube. Thank you my Stampin Up Friends for the inspiration. This is used creating non Stampin Up DSP, all other supplies are from Stampin Up.

This was a little token I made for my Mom, she loved it and carries it always with her in her purse. I am so happy that she loved this. Love you Mom & miss you Dad.
