Hi There!

We have a new Circus Baby Mini Panda Bear available for adoption on our website today, and he is so adorable! Meet Mint...

Mint stands just 3" tall and is made from white and minty green cashmere fabric. He is wearing a hand-made black and white polka-dot collar, and he has beautiful hand-painted green eyes. I love his cute expression, and I think he is just a happy little bear.

We have such a cute new panda available for adoption today! Meet Maple....

Maple is a 6" Circus Mini Panda Bear that we created from goldenrod and chocolate mohair. He has hand-painted bright blue eyes, and tons of character. His eyes areas and paw pads are needle felted wool, and he has an embroidered nose and mouth. Maple is loosely jointed and wears a lovely hand-made collar that compliments his eyes.

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

Our bears (and woolly mammoths!) have been featured in a three page article in the latest issue of Teddy & Co. magazine (February 2012)! They included many wonderful photos of our bears, and we couldn't be more pleased. The author was kind enough to scan the pages so that we could share them with you...

A hard copy of the magazine is in transit to us as well, and I can't wait to see it! Yay! I hope that you all had a lovely weekend. It's a little dark and rainy this morning, so it's a great day to stay in the studio and create!

We have two new baby mini panda bears available for adoption! Both are equally cute and so adorable!

Meet Mozart....

Mozart stands approx. 3" tall and is made from spice and tan cashmere fabric. We hand painted his eyes a beautiful blue, and he has such a sweet expression.

Meet Madison....

Madison also stands approx. 3" tall, and is made from black and golden tan cashmere fabric. He also has gorgeous blue glass eyes that are hand-painted.

Collector Pic and a New Custom Bear!

I have such a cute photo to share with you! Our lovely collector Tracy in the UK took a pic of her White Forest Bears collection. Here is Christian, Archie, Carl and Jackson...

I also have such a wonderful Circus Baby Mini Bear to show you this morning. His name is Boogie, and we created him for our fabulous collector in Ohio who has the largest White Forest Bears collection. He turned out exactly as I had envisioned him, and I've been staring at him since we finished him yesterday because he is just so darn cute! Meet Boogie...

Boogie stands approximately 3" tall and is made from short green cashmere fabric. He has hand-painted hazel eyes, and his double ruffle collar is a black on white/ white on black polka dot print.

This morning I am embroidering a few noses and mouths, and watching Sesame Street with Jacklyn. I never knew what the big attraction to Elmo was, as I haven't seen the show in many, many years, but after watching it with her every morning I can see why people love him...and I constantly have the "Elmo's World" theme song in my head :o)

Happy New Year!

2012...2012...2012...I'm trying to get use to typing out the new year. I always spend the first few months writing the previous year so I'm trying to break my usual habit! We are so excited for this brand new year! We have so many fantastic things planned.

We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. Jacklyn's first Christmas was so much fun! I figured that all the excitement might be a little overwhelming for her, but she loved every minute of it. She sure napped a lot the next day! lol

A few days before Christmas we received the most amazing card in the mail! Our dear collector Shelly Brandon featured our bears in her beautiful Christmas card! Happy Weekend!

I have custom pics to share! Lots of them!

This is a 10" hand-dyed rainbow bear that we created for a collector in Spain. (She hasn't decided on a name for him yet, and you can help us with name ideas on our facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/White-Forest-Bears/132129070755.)

This gorgeous bear is a 12" hand-dyed panda that we created for a UK collector. His name is Imp and I love the neutral colors that we used to dye his fur.

This is Snuffles, an approx. 13" Woolly Mammoth made from soft chocolate kid mohair. We hand-sculpted his tusks, and he has amazing details. We created him for a dear collector in Virginia for Christmas who has several of our mini elephants. Snuffles is going to look so cute with them!

This cute little bear is Hope, a 3" Baby Mini Rainbow Panda Bear that we created for a collector in Germany. We love his bright colors - he is such a fun bear!

This little guy is Jace, and he is a 5" mini bear that we created for a wonderful collector in Australia. Jace is made from hand-dyed red mohair, and he has a felted muzzle.

Oscar is another 5" mini bear that has an entirely needle felted muzzle. We created Oscar for a fabulous collector in Ireland who has several of our bears. I love his sweet expression!

Hasn't this week gone by quickly? It's hard to imagine that 2012 is just around the corner! I'm so excited to let you know that we have a wonderful bunny rabbit available for adoption on our website today!

Meet Kale....

Kale stands approximately 10" tall and is made from dense white Schulte mohair. (His tummy is grey mohair and his inner ears are a dense rose mohair.) I absolutely love his expression, and his detailing is just amazing. We painted beautiful golden amber glass eyes for Kale. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving has arrived already! We are having dinner at our house this year, which Ozzie is extra excited about as he is hoping for many samples and treats. He has been stalking the turkey in the fridge for days. My parents are coming to visit today, and I'm pretty sure he will get a treat or two out of them as well. Lucky dog!

I love the antique brown mohair that we used for Flower. We made her a lovely collar that is a pink, purple, and green print that is so pretty against her fur. Flower is lightly stuffed and loosely jointed for many posing options. We really enjoy creating these Circus Mini Bears, and we would love to know what you think of Flower.

Hand-Dyed Fur

Good Morning!

I always enjoy dying our own fur - it makes the bears even more unique, and I especially enjoy dying the multi-colored furs. We are creating a "Linus" style panda for a collector in the UK, and I thought I would share a few photos of the fur that I dyed for her bear.

Typically with the multi-colored bears we use bright colors or pastels. For this panda I used a blend of various neutral shades and a cream colored long mohair for the base. I love how it turned out!

This is Jayan, a fantastic baby mini panda bear that we created for a lovely collector in the UK...

Our collector named the bear by combining the names of her two sons, which I think was such a sweet thing to do. Jayan is made from spice and golden tan cashmere - We have not done that color combo before, and I really love it. It's a bit more contrast than the golden tan/tan combination that we have done in the past, which is also so cute.

Baby Mini Bears + Ball Jointed Dolls = A Perfect Pairing!

Jack and I have a huge appreciation for Ball Jointed Dolls and the amazing art achieved with them. Our lovely collector Shelly Brandon has an awe-inspiring collection of BJD's that she brings to life in incredible photos. We are so honored that she has included Harry, her White Forest Baby Mini Bear in some of her photographs!

Here is Harry being held by an 11" doll created by IpleHouse. The sculpt is called "Erzulie" and Shelly created her beautiful play outfit.

Here is another photo of Harry playing with twins! This gorgeous pair of dolls are also 11" tall and created by IpleHouse.

Shelly is so talented and puts so much creativity into her dolls, and we are so overjoyed that she has chosen our bears to display with her precious collection. Pumpkin the Circus Mini Bear

Hi There!

I have such a cute bear to share with you today. His name is Pumpkin and he is currently available for adoption on our website!

Pumpkin is a Circus Mini Bear that stands just a bit over 6" tall. He is made from dense honey colored alpaca, and he has bright blue eyes that we hand-painted. We have not worked with alpaca in quite some time, and we really enjoyed working with it again. We made Pumpkin an orange print collar which stands out so wonderfully against his neutral honey fur. We had to break down and turn the heat on this morning. It was 38 when we woke up, and while I was trying to not kick the heat on since it is suppose to be back in the 80's and 90's in a few days, it was just too cold! lol! I'm staying in the studio until it warms up!

I'm in such a great mood today because our heatwave is finally over! Phew! We may even be in the 80's this weekend, which will be such a nice change from the triple digit heat we have had lately. Alexander the Panda Bear

Hi There!

I hope you had a lovely weekend. It was a holiday weekend (Labor Day) here in the US, the unofficial "end of summer". We have been treated with some thunderstorms today, a rarity this time of year and it was the first time that Jackie saw rain and heard thunder. She stared at the rain for a while, and then went back to staring at the window blinds, her favorite thing to do. I'll get more photos posted of her soon - she's just so darn cute if I do say so myself!

Speaking of cute, we have just listed the most gorgeous panda bear on our website for adoption. His name is Alexander and he is a 16" panda made from long black and taupe mohair. Isn't he a stunner?

The eyes that Jack painted for Alexander are so incredible. They are a golden amber color with hints of bronze and other complimentary shades that goes so perfectly with Alexander's mohair. The taupe mohair has a dark backing, which gives the fur wonderful texture and depth.
