I'm not quite sure how it all began actually. We started buying crystals to sell on our website then I posted a a few crystals on our Facebook Page and people wanted to buy them! And not just any crystals! We began hunting and continue to search for just the perfect crystals, each one individually looked over with a careful eye and hand chosen to insure that each and every crystal and gemstone was as perfect and magical as it could be.

It's been a over a year since we began offering crystals and gemstones for sale on our White Magick Alchemy Facebook Page and we continue to have Crystal Shows on our page! Unlike other online places where you can purchase crystals and gemstones, we don't purchase anything unless we've held it and carefully examined each and every crystal. I think thats what has made buying crystals on our Facebook Page so exciting for our friends and customers, because its just not some box we received from some vendor clear across the nation of crystals and stones we've never seen before and we don't know what it is until it gets here.... these crystals and gemstones are each individually hand chosen by us. Each and every one too! So you can rest assured that any crystal you purchase from White Magick Alchemy, on either our website or on our Facebook page, is a crystal that has been carefully critiqued. We want share with you and sell only the finest crystals we can get our hands on. And we only work with reputable gem dealers who we have face to face close relationships and friendships with. We're pretty lucky because they come to us!~ Like Jose from Mexico who's family pretty much has the entire market on Black Obsidian in Mexico. Jose drives up here from Mexico to meet with us here at our house! Those are the people we work with. Experienced, professional, reputable gemstone dealers. And then sometimes we'll run into someone who has a vintage collection. Its being at the right place at the right time thats for sure ~

NEW to Purchasing Crystals on our Facebook Crystal Shows? Below is a detailed description about the Terms and Conditions when purchasing crystals and gemstones on the White Magick Alchemy Facebook Page.

PURCHASING CRYSTALS AND GEMSTONES on our Facebook Page ~ How it Works:

1) We will post up a photo and within the thread all of the details about the crystal(s) up for sale, the price(s), the size(s), and a description(s) of the crystal/gemstone(s) magical and healing properties. In some instances we may also include some scientific information as well. We ask that you read the information contained within each thread thoroughly and carefully, as all of the information about that particular listing of crystal/gemstone(s) will be contained within the post.

2) Want the Crystal posted? In the comment box type "SOLD" in caps. This is your commitment to purchase the item in the post. First person to put SOLD in the comment box gets the item. Please be sure that you want the piece before claiming a crystal as there are others that may want the piece too. These are OOAK, one of a kind crystals.

3) Immediately after "claiming" your crystal/gemstone(s) by marking SOLD in the post, email us at wmcrystals@comcast.net and send us your Full Name, your Ship To Address and your Paypal Email address. Shortly after, we will email you a Paypal Invoice for your crystal which is due immediately upon receipt.

If you "claim" and mark SOLD in a post for a crystal and your email is not received within 5 mins, your crystal/gemstone(s) will be available for purchase to the next person who typed SOLD into the post. We will not hold crystals under any circumstances. If you claim a crystal and you decide not to follow through, we kindly ask that you follow up with a post in the thread letting others know that you've changed your mind so that they know the item is still available but advise against it. Please don't post SOLD if you "think" you might want it or if you don't want it because other people really want some of these crystal/gemstone(s), perhaps the one you just claimed.

You will receive an Invoice within a few minutes for your purchase. Check our email inbox frequently for the Invoice. We kindly ask that you finalize payment upon receipt or at least within 5 or 10 minutes. If your Invoice is not paid immediately, your crystal/gemstone(s) will not be held for you and they will be posted up on Facebook for someone else to purchase. No stomping of feet please.... if you really want a crystal/gemstone, you will finalize asap right?

If we are doing a number of posts that day/night and something else comes up that you wish to add to your previous paid invoice, we will Combine Shipping for you on any following purchases/invoices. Do not wait to pay to combine all of your purchases into one final Invoice. If Invoices are not paid within 10 mins or you have disappeared from cyper-space, your crystal/gemstone(s) will be relisted on the Facebook page and will be available for someone else to purchase.

* We will not hold crystal/gemstone(s) under any circumstances.

* DO NOT EMAIL or send a Facebook Message that you want a specific crystal. Sending an email does not insure your claim on your crystal. You must post in the thread that you want it by typing "SOLD" in the post. This makes the whole process move more efficiently and allows everyone to see what has been claimed, what is still available, and gives everyone a fair chance to purchase the crystal/gemstone(s) that they really want.

* We will not do any "Private Showings", meaning that we will email you something before posting it on Facebook. I've tried this before and its been too stressful, time consuming and holds things up for others who are ready to see the crystal offerings.

* If you want a crystal/gemstone(s), it is advisable that you "claim" it as soon as possible by marking "SOLD" in the thread and finalize the transaction upon receipt, as when these get posted, in some cases, I've seen a whole lot of crystals sell out within 30 seconds.

SHIPPING ~

Upon receipt of your finalized Invoice, your crystal/gemstone(s) with ship within 1 to 3 days. All crystal/gemstone(s) are shipped USPS Priority Mail to insure prompt and safe delivery to you.

Insurance will be added to your order. If your crystal/gemstone(s) arrive to you damaged or broken, please notify us immediately within 48 hours so we can provide you with the tracking information to file your claim with USPS. White Magick Alchemy will not file any Damage Claims with UPSP on your behalf and we are not responsible for any damages or reimbursements regarding damaged or broken items. Any reimbursements for damaged or broken items will be handled by you through USPS. All sales are final when you purchase any of our White Magick Alchemy products and/or White Magick Crystals crystals and gemstone items.

RETURNS ~

All sales are final. We do not accept any returns. Exceptions may be made for higher priced crystal/gemstone(s) depending upon the circumstances. A 20% Restocking Fee will be imposed for any Authorized Returns. Refused shipments will not be accepted.

Gemstone Elixers and Crystal Healing Waters are a wonderful way to incorporate the vibrational energies of certain gemstones and crystals into your magical workings as well as in your daily life. But be aware that there are certain gemstones and crystals that contain toxins such as lead, copper, aluminum, nickel, sulpher and arsenic. The list below is not a comprehensive list, but please please, always do research before creating any elixir or gemstone water especially if you plan to take it internally.

Polished gemstones are less likely to emit any toxins into your elixirs and waters and are pretty safe for use in massage oils as well. If handling raw gemstones, wear gloves and/or wash your hand thoroughly after handling. And this is really important, always keep small stones, tumbled or raw stones, and even ones that aren't toxic safely away from children and pets.

Here at White Magick Alchemy we have a great respect for crystals and gemstones and always utilize safe gemstones in our spell oils. We also charge our herbal blends with these magical, loving, healing stones which then are incorporated into many of our magickal offerings. For instance, many types of Quartz crystals are completely safe to use as long as these stones are polished, smooth with unbroken surfaces. Another option to create safe Gemstone Elixers and Crystal Healing Waters are to place then around the base of the glass container, outside, preferably under the corresponding moon phase.

Avoid and do not make conventional gem elixirs, gem waters, massage oils, or other consumables with these stones. The general rules below can help you and those you know stay safe.

Do not make conventional gemstone elixirs, gem waters, massage oils of any stone containing metal (lead, copper, etc.) Use an indirect method instead.
FYI: Polished stones are less likely to allow elixirs, etc. to leach any potentially hazardous materials. Rough stones are most likely.
In general, almost all blue and green stones, especially brightly colored ones, contain copper and/or arsenic and are unsafe to use for conventional gem elixirs, etc.
Shiny, metallic stones should be avoided.
Don't handle stones containing arsenic, such as realgar, or mercury, such as cinnabar without protective gloves. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling them. These stones are extremely toxic.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling potentially toxic stones.
Keep all potentially harmful stones (including small, bite-sized stones that aren't necessarily toxic but can cause choking hazards!) out of reach of children for safety.

You may find contradictory information elsewhere as to the potential hazards of these stones, as I am not a mineralogist nor a health care practitioner. I recommend being cautious and using unconventional indirect methods for making elixirs and other consumables unless you're certain of what you're doing. To be on the safe side, consider these stones, and any stones you don't know for sure about, to be poisonous to eat, drink, or otherwise consume.

Creating a Healthy and Sacred Work Space

A conducive workplace is vital for a person's career development, physical and spiritual health, personal protection, as well as harmony in the office. Preparing such a space can be challenging, unless the individual has a private office. However, it's not impossible because there are several creative and fun ways to create an inviting and spiritual work environment for yourself.

Most working people spend the prime hours of their day in a room, cubicle or an open office space, and are exposed to vibrations that can have adverse effects on the human body. Fatigue, weakness, restlessness, aches, poor concentration and high levels of stress are all linked to artificial light and electromagnetic radiation via electronic equipment like computers and cell phones.

One good way to create an pleasant and peaceful work area is to perform regular space clearing to flush out the negative energies, and attract positive vibrations. Choose a time when you are unlikely to be disturbed before you start work or after working hours. Discard all old newspapers, unused books and clutter on or under the desk to free the space and allow fresh energies to flow in freely. If possible, perform a quick cleansing ritual with a small piece of White Sage. If thats not possible, keep a small offering bowl of White Sage within your work space.

After you have cleaned up your work area, have a private corner and create a sacred space. It can even be a shelf or a small table area. In this protective zone, you can build an unobtrusive altar by displaying anything that gives you comfort and peace. The idea is to have a sacred altar space that brings you happiness. Include things that make you happy! Fresh flowers, photos, statuary, small fountains, crystals, anything that makes you smile. Make your area smell good and place scented candles around. The scent throw from a unlit candle can last years. Or perhaps set up some scented incense. This sacred mantle will serve as protection around you, and strengthen your aura levels so that negative energies cannot get to you. To promote good vibrations at work, chant or give thanks for your blessings at your altar you have created by viewing it and just taking that moment before you start your day.

If you are having trouble with a colleague, place an indoor plant between the two of you to serve as a protection barrier. Display plants and fresh flowers that have protective qualities, such as Jasmine and Fern. Besides your work area, you can also place plants in the waiting room and reception area to reduce invasive effects from the energy of visitors. To further enhance your protective shield, display crystals like Citrine, Smokey Quartz, Rose Quartz, Garnet, Jet, Onyx, Tiger Eye or Moonstone on your desk and at the four corners of the room to help absorb stray and negative energies. Include plenty of indoor plants in the area to provide oxygen, and let their vibrations connect you to the natural world.

If you are involved in business and want to focus on abundance, create a prosperity box. Using green ink, draw up a list of what you wish for and place it in a prosperity box together with Citrine, Crystal Quartz, Aventurine, Sardonyx, Lodestones, Bloodstone and Smokey Quartz crystals, to name a few.

Last but not least, get yourself a good work chair. If you are sitting for the majority of your day, its important to have a good chair that offers support to your body. The body reacts to poor conditions and unless you have a good healthy chair to sit in throughout your work day, over time, you will begin to feel the effects physically and emotionally. My personal recommendation is any one of the new office chairs made my Tempurpedic. You won't be disappointed.

Lemurian Seed Crystals ~ Record Keepers of an Ancient Civilization

Folklore tells us Lemuria was a peaceful and highly developed spiritual civilization believed to exist on earth over 12 million years ago. The civilization was said to have sank in the Pacific Ocean between North America and Asia. The Hawaiian volcanos are thought to be the tops of their ancient mountains. During the last days of Lemuria, it was decided to plant seed crystals programmed to transmit a message of oneness. Having seeded the crystals, the Lemurians, it is believed, left this planet for other star systems. Others went into inner earth (while maintaining telepathic connection with those in other parts of the galaxy), where they continue to care for the earth and the seed crystals now surfacing.

Crystals are the blossoms of the mineralogical portion of the Earth. The recognition of the beauty and loving energies of these forms can greatly enhance ones personal development. They are the myriad fireworks of both creativity and individual universal energies.

I'm not quite sure how it all began actually. We started buying crystals to sell on our website then I posted a a few crystals on our Facebook Page and people wanted to buy them! And not just any crystals! We began hunting and continue to search for just the perfect crystals, each one individually looked over with a careful eye and hand chosen to insure that each and every crystal and gemstone was as perfect and magical as it could be.

Unlike other online places where you can purchase crystals and gemstones, we don't purchase anything unless we've held it and carefully examined each and every crystal. I think thats what has made buying crystals on our Facebook Page so exciting for our friends and customers! Because its just not some box we received from some vendor clear across the nation of crystals and stones we've never seen before and we don't know what it is until it gets here.... these crystals and gemstones are each individually hand chosen by us! Selling crystals and gemstones on Facebook is a totally new thing for us, so to make things easier for everyone to understand, how it works, below is a detailed description about the Terms and Conditions when purchasing crystals and gemstones on the White Magick Alchemy Facebook Page.

After several months of trials and errors, what works for you and what doesn't work for us, I thought it was time to just get it out there about how this whole thing works. There have been some instances when people wanted crystals and they claimed them in the thread and either never emailed or paid the Invoices. This is just a huge inconvenience for others who wanted a particular crystal/gemstone and it was held up by someone who wasn't serious about finalizing the purchase and following through with their "Claim" on a crystal. So, here's out it works!~

PURCHASING CRYSTALS AND GEMSTONES on our Facebook Page ~ How it Works:

1) We will post up a photo and within the thread all of the details about the crystals up for sale, the prices, the sizes, and a description of the crystals/gemstones magical and healing properties. In some instances we may also include some scientific information as well. We ask that you read the information contained within each thread thoroughly and carefully, as all of the information about that particular listing of crystals/gemstones will be contained within the thread.

2) If you would like to purchase one or more of the crystals/gemstones in the picture, you must post in the thread that you want a particular crystal(s) i.e. "I would like #2". If you don't post in the thread that you want a particular crystal, someone else may want that crystal, if they make the post before you, that crystal is theirs. You MUST post in the thread if you want one of the crystals in the picture.

Please post in the thread if you want a crystal/gemstone. DO NOT EMAIL or send a message that you want a specific crystal. Sending an email does not insure your claim on your crystal. You must post in the thread that you want it. The reason for this is to allow others to see which ones are still available. If you have posted that you want #2 for instance, anyone following the thread can see that that one is no longer available and they can move on to make another choice. This makes the whole process move more efficiently and allows everyone the chance to purchase the crystals/gemstones that they really want.

3) Immediately after "claiming" a crystal/gemstone, email us at our new email address magickcrystals@comcast.net and in that email provide your Paypal Email address and your Ship To Address. We have a new system now, so if you have purchased previously, we no longer have this information in the new system. You will have to resend this information in order for us to create an Invoice for you.

If you "claim" a crystal/gemstone and your email is not received within 5 mins, your crystal/gemstone will be available for purchase to someone else. We will not hold crystals under any circumstances. If you claim a crystal and you decide not to follow through, we kindly ask that you follow up with a post in the thread letting others know that you've changed your mind so that they know the item is still available. Please don't post if you don't want it because other people really want some of these crystals/gemstones, perhaps the one you just claimed.

You will receive an Invoice within a few minutes for your purchase. We kindly ask that you finalize payment upon receipt or at least within 5 or 10 minutes. If your Invoice is not paid immediately, your crystals/gemstones will not be held for you and they will be posted up on Facebook for someone else to purchase. No stomping of feet please.... if you really want a crystal/gemstone, you will finalize asap right?

If we are doing a number of posts that day and something else comes up that you wish to add to your previous paid invoice, we will Combine Shipping for you on any following purchases/invoices. Do not wait to pay to combine all of your purchases into one final Invoice. If Invoices are not paid within 10 mins or you have disappeared from cyper-space, your crystals/gemstones will be relisted on the Facebook page and will be available for someone else to purchase.

* We will not hold crystals/gemstones under any circumstances.

* We will not do any "Private Showings", meaning that I will email you something before posting it on Facebook. I've tried this before and its been too stressful, time consuming and holds things up for others who are ready to see the crystal offerings.

* If you want a crystal/gemstone, it is advisable that you "claim" it as soon as possible and finalize the transaction upon receipt, as when these get posted, in some cases, I've seen a whole lot of crystals sell out within 30 seconds.

SHIPPING ~

Upon receipt of your finalized Invoice, your crystals/gemstones with ship either that day or the next day. All crystals/gemstones are shipped USPS Priority Mail to insure prompt and safe delivery to you.

Insurance will be added to your order. If your crystals/gemstones arrive to you damaged or broken, you will be provided with the tracking information to file a claim with USPS. White Magick Alchemy will not file any Damage Claims with UPSP on your behalf. Any reimbursements for damaged or broken items will be handled by you through USPS. All sales are final when you purchase a crystal/gemstone.

RETURNS ~

All sales are final. We do not accept any returns. Exceptions may be made for higher priced crystals/gemstones depending upon the circumstances. Soy ~ The Most Environmentally Offensive Agriculture Crop in the World

In the time it takes to read this entire article, an area of Brazil's Amazon rainforest larger than 200 football fields will have been destroyed, much of it for soybean cultivation.

Today, industrial-scale soybean producers are joining loggers and cattle ranchers in speeding up destruction and further fragmenting the great Brazilian wilderness. Between the years 2000 and 2005, Brazil lost more than 50,000 square miles of rainforest—a large portion of that for soybean farming.

Soybean production in the Brazilian Amazon soared after heat-tolerant varieties were introduced in 1997. In just ten years, exports of soybeans grown in the Amazon Basin have reached 42 million tons a year. Total annual soybean production in Brazil today is about 85 million tons, and Brazil will soon surpass the United States as the world's leader in soybean production.

Brazil holds about 30 percent of the Earth's remaining tropical rainforest. The Amazon Basin produces roughly 20 percent of the Earth's oxygen, creates much of its own rainfall, and harbors hundreds of thousands of species, many yet to be discovered. The Brazilian rainforest is the world's most biologically diverse habitat.

Close to 20 percent of the Amazon rainforest has already been cut down. At the current rate of clearing, scientists predict that 40 percent of the Amazon will be destroyed and a further 20 percent degraded within two decades. If that happens, the forest's ecology will begin to unravel. Intact, the Amazon produces half its own rainfall through the moisture it releases into the atmosphere. Eliminate enough of that rain through clearing, and the remaining trees dry out and die, the fragile rainforest soils blow away, and the forest becomes a desert. Currently trees are being wantonly burned to create open land for soybean cultivation. Consequently, Brazil has become one of the world's largest emitters of greenhouse gases.

The decimation of the Amazon is, for the most part, done legally. Even the governor of the state of Mato Gross, on the edge of the Amazon Basin, is a part of it. Governor Blairo Maggi is the world's largest single soybean producer, growing 350,000 acres. That's about 547 square miles of Amazon rainforest that have been leveled for soybean production! He is just one of many industrial-sized soybean operations in the area. In 2005, Greenpeace awarded Maggi the Golden Chain Saw award for his role in leveling the rainforest.

But, clearing and tilling the land for soybean production is only part of the problem. Soybean cultivation destroys habitat for wildlife including endangered or unknown species, and increases greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming. Soybeans need large amounts of acid-neutralizing lime, as well as synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides, all of which are creating an environmental hazard. Toxic chemicals contaminate the forest, poison rivers, and destroy wildlife. And, in undeveloped countries, soy production disrupts the life of indigenous tribes who depend on the forest for food and shelter, replaces traditional crops, and transfers the value-added from processing from the local population to multinational corporations.

The environmental destruction caused by soybean farming isn't limited to the Amazon; it occurs throughout the world wherever soybeans are produced. In the U.S. alone, over 80 million acres of land are covered in soybeans. That's hundreds of thousands of acres of deforestation, habitat destruction, over-cultivation and destruction of soils, and billions of tons of toxic chemicals spewed into the environment year after year, contaminating our soils, water, and destroying wildlife and human health. And new, genetically modified soy was specifically developed to withstand the toxins so farmers could spray even more pesticides on them without diminishing yields.

Over 80% of all soybeans grown in the U.S. (and two-thirds worldwide) are genetically-modified to withstand the herbicide glyphosate, which is usually sold under the trade name Roundup. Because so much Roundup is used on these crops, the residue levels in the harvested crops greatly exceed what until very recently was the allowable legal limit. For the technology to be commercially viable, the FDA had to triple the limit on residues of glyphosate that can remain on the crop. Many scientists have protested that permitting increased residues shows that corporate interests are given higher priority than public safety at the FDA, but the increased levels have remained in force.

Who Am I? ~ Discovering Your True Inner Spiritual Essence

This question, asked so often, suggests that there is actually a plausible answer. Almost as if our being were a fixed thing. People who ask this sort of question are typically struggling with their identity and are searching for a core sense of themselves. The irony is that the more you seek to identify who you are, the more fragile you are likely to feel about yourself. There may be an inverse correlation between the question being asked and the ease with which you experience your life. The emphasis shouldn't be on discovering who you are (what is buried beneath) but on facilitating the emergence of what you'd like to experience.

Our identity should be seen as an ongoing process. Rather than a static snapshot, we should embrace a flowing sense of self, whereby we are perpetually re-framing, re-organizing, re-thinking and re-considering ourselves. How different would life be if rather than asking who am I, we contemplated how we'd like to engage life? A sense of inadequacy often informs the question around "Who am I?" As people engage the deepening complexity of understanding themselves, they would fare much better to devote themselves to the unfiolding process of life. Witnessing our thoughts, not reacting out of old habit, and becoming present enable us to better craft our lives. As such, the identity that we seek fires the wave of life, enriched by the flow.

Imagine that you've been in prison for twenty years, incarcerated since the age of eighteen. You literally have no adult life experience outside of the penitentiary. Your sense of self is tragically limited. You might ask yourself, "Who am I? This would likely provoke a fragile sense of self that paradoxically might leave you most apprehensive about your imminent release. You'd hardly choose to remain imprisoned until you could find your identity. You'd have to permit that new sense of self to flow from your new experiences.

Upon divorce, many people, mostly women, are often confronted with a distressing thought. They claim that they don't know who they are. More to the point, they may not know who they are as a single, autonomous adult, not partnered. After all, how could they? Rather than remaining mired in fear, you'd need to summon up a sense of wonder and adventure. There is a new sense of self waiting to be born. You get to re-craft yourself along the way.

At the other end of the identity continuum are those who claim to know themselves so well. This other extreme also signifies a fragility about one's identity. To know yourself so well leaves no room for growth. Even more, it suggests a deep vulnerability that is being defended against, as if it were too dangerous to take a closer look.

It makes perfect sense to seek a deeper sense of self. To become intimately aware of your thoughts, feelings, hopes and fears is obviously advisable. The key is to engage your sense of self as malleable, more like a willow tree than a sturdy oak. The willow is flexible and survives the storm as it bends with the wind, whereas the more rigid oak is more likely to crack.

The universe purportedly exists in a state of flowing potential. And it is essential to understand that we are indeed part of that universe. The goal then is to access that potential, keeping the parts of our identity that continue to serve us well and shedding the old, habitual pieces that constrain us. This process is known as positive disintegration. This permits us to find balance between the extremes and enter into a relationship with self that commits to our personal and spiritual evolution.

This is an interesting exercise I heard on one of my favorite radio stations many moons ago while I was crafting my magical items one afternoon. I stopped in my tracks right then, grabbed a pen and paper and began to listen to the soft and comforting voice which was streaming through the airways into my world, offering me the opportunity to find out who I was. I was excited to hear the questions!

You will ask yourself two questions and write them down on a piece of paper, and as you ask yourself these questions, what comes to mind first is your answer. These answers will pertain to who you are on a spiritual level, how "you" see yourself in terms of your moral characteristics, what you think of yourself in terms of who you are. Not what you may think others think of you. For instance, if you think of yourself as a competitive person, your answer might be competitive. If you perceive yourself as being loving or caring, your answer might be kind or gracious. If you perceive yourself as being stubborn, then your answer is stubborn closed minded. The idea of this exercise is to answer the questions with honesty, no matter what the answer may be, so that you may reveal to yourself who you really are. This is a great exercise that reminded me once again, to remember, embrace and re-discover my true identity and my spiritual essence. But this one really hit home for me, which is why I want you to try it. Its so easy and you might find yourself doing this perhaps annually to just, step back, and reevaluate any changes that you have made, re-discovering yourself again, and how you have flexed with the ebb and flow, much like the willow Tree. Be honest and write down the first thing that pops into your mind.

So, sitting quietly with pen and paper, ask yourself those two questions:

* I am?

* What am I?

Now, how do you feel about those two answers, those two words you just wrote down?

Once I wrote down the answers to these two simple questions, I felt empowered and happy inside! And suddenly I am reminded of the power and spiritual essence of Nancy. The answers to those two questions for me, and I don't mind sharing were:

I am? HONESTY

What I am? STRONG

So there you have it. Your first name is "I am?" and your last name is "What I am?" So in this exercise, my name is "Honesty Strong". And frankly, thats better than Mean Bitch, Dishonest Thief or Nagging Housewife right? And if you find that the answers to the questions aren't quite what you expected, then therein lies your enlightenment that you may feel it necessary to make changes in your life to create the divine spiritual essence you seek to be. The idea here is to be completely honest, with yourself. Don't sugar coat your thoughts for the sake of making yourself feel or look good. This is your own personal exercise which need not be shared with others. It is the mirror which will allow you to take a good hard look at who you really are, how you may or may not be perceived by others, and your true spiritual essence at this moment in your life.

There is nothing quite like a summers sunset as the sun's trailing edge falls below the horizon to the west and we await the coming of twilight. As the days of summer grow longer, the days get longer and the sunsets occur later every day until the day of the latest sunset, which befall after the Summer Solstice.

The first phase of a sunset is called sunset. The colors are pale pastels with sun drenched hues of oranges, pinks and yellows. When the sun's edge falls completely below the horizon and the sun can no longer be seen, thats twilight time. Colors become darker, hues of deeper yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue in all different shades. Then dusk befalls and we behold the darkest colors of all, deep reds, blues, purples, and even shades of orange. Dusk is a sight to behold. I've witnessed many a sunset, twilight and dusk here living on the coast of Northern California my whole life and spent many evenings sitting on the beach, barefoot, just listening to to soft roar of the ocean, watching the waves roll in upon the soft sand, and watching the sun fall from sunset, then twilight, then to dusks blue darkness. I guess you could say I've been blessed. Although as a teenage while surfing, I experienced a near death experience in Capitola CA. It was then when I realized the strength and power of the oceans and seas. But standing at the edge of where the ocean meets the land, theres a special kind of magic in that. You are standing at the edge of two worlds. One of humankind and one of a world we have yet to discover..... the world of the sea and the animals that call the oceans their home. But thats a whole other story ~

Celebrating Beltane ~ Creating Artful Beltane Ambiance and Decorating Tips For Your Beltane Festival and Feasting Table

Beltane kicks off the merry month of May! In ancient times, festivities began before the 1st of May upon the evening of the last day in April. Old world pagans continue this tradition today in the 21st Century. And what a splendid time for a celebration! Whether it be a small gathering with family and friends in the backyard or a large party, there are a myriad of ways to create a festive environment and ambiance for your Beltane celebration.

This fire festival is celebrated with bonfires, feasting, dancing around the Maypole and lots of sexual energy. Because Maypoles represent the phallic symbol, they are erected into the ground and danced around to celebrate the masculine aspect of the sabbat. Also recognized as Mayday, this sabbat is a time of sacred fertility. The Goddess and the God perform the Great Rite, sacred sexuality, making the land lush and green, making this old world pagan holiday an ideal day for handfastings and weddings.

I've always loved entertaining, and enjoy hosting parties for 100 to 150 guests in my home. Being a musician, I also love live music and tend to go overboard when it comes to musical entertainment with 3 to 5 live bands performing. Live music is great at a Beltane celebration! Perhaps an acoustic ensemble or a drum circle. If live music is not an option, choose a few CD's! Whatever your guests and you enjoy is fine, pr perhaps some old Celtic tunes!~

Creating an ambiance for your Beltane Party can be fun and the end result whimsical and elegant. I've always wanted to erect a big Maypole in my backyard, but my space doesn't allow me to take on such a task. However, you can adorn trees and other outside structures with ribbons, colorful flags and banners, springtime colored flowers (silk or real flowers), use your imagination! The possibilities are endless!

Hosting a elegant evening celebration and feast for your family and friends? Easy! Beltane is also known as the Festival of Flowers, and the appearance of flowers around this time of year heralds the beginning of summer. Create a beautiful feasting table with elegant centerpieces of spring and summer flowers and bowls of fresh fruit and berries. Above the feasting table, hang a pole decorated with flowers, moss, flowing satin ribbons of Beltane, strands of white lights, colorful fabric banners and anything else that you an think of. Rule number one.... never use paper plates and plastic forks when serving your guests. There are places that rent everything you'll need to make this occasion memorable for your guests. Plates, wine glasses, flatware, linens, coffee service, chocolate fountains, right down to tables, chairs and tents for your party.

Celebrations begin the eve before Beltane, and the lighting of bonfires traditionally begin in the evening on 30th April and continue throughout the night and into the next day. In old Ireland, the Beltane bonfire or bale fire, was lit upon the Hill of Uisneach. Torches were lit from the bale fire, then carried down to the village where villagers would then use their torches taking flame from the main fire to light their own bonfires and hearth fires. The fires of Beltane represents the return of the light as the days lengthen and summer begins its journey upon the earth. Renewal and purification rites are performed by jumping the bonfire. In medieval times, two fires were lit side by side and villagers drove their cattle between the fires as a symbol of purification and protection of the herd as well as a blessing of abundance and a bountiful harvest ahead.

Today, these same traditions continue with the bonfire serving as the focal gathering place where we carry on with music, merriment, dancing and love rites. Charoite ~ The Magic and Mystery

Have you ever heard of Charoite? If you haven't, you should know about its powerful energy!

Charoite was recently discovered in Russia in 1978 in the Murun mountains in Yakutia, to date, this the only known location for this rare mineral. The name Charoite is derived from the Chary River which is near where it was found. Chary, meaning charm or magic.

Charoite is a very rare, amazing and beautiful stone. The colors range from light to medium lavender, deep violet and lilac, to dark purples, with swirling patterns of Black Augite, transparent crystals of microcline Feldspar, orange and sometimes swirls of deep brown. The stone's quality varies. The darker stone is the most sought after and is the most expensive. Other Charoite stones may appear much lighter in color. Pale violet and lavender with light green, creamy yellow and brown prismatic tinaksite crystals.

This is one of my favorite gemstones. Charoite is known as a 'Stone of Transformation' as well as a "Stone of Power". In particular, it transforms negative emotions such as anger and fear into positive feelings and aids in coping with enormous change on a spiritual level. As a part of the transformation process it allows release of those negative emotions, so one can change and move forward. Charoite is a stone of strength, power, courage and wisdom, allowing negative energies to dissipate and spiritual awareness and positive energy to manifest naturally. If you are stuck in a situation where change needs to take place, a relationship that has halted your spiritual growth, Charoite is the stone for you.Charoite is also known as a "Stone of Inspiration", bringing enhanced creativity, spiritual growth and showing new possibilities in even the oldest situations. Its strange how Charoite is a more recent discovery. There is speculation that the stone was picked up and thrown back to the ground in the 1940's, but there was no verified discovery until 1978. The stone lacks appeal in its natural form, probably the reason why no was interested in it back in the 1940's if in fact is was just laying around on the ground. Evidently, Russia makes it difficult to get your hands on this magical mineral and have strict guidelines regarding its departure from the country. Not a lot of people know about Charoite and since its only location to date is in Russia (Charoite has not been found anywhere else in the world), you can bet that Charoite is one of the rarest gemstones on earth.

History of the Apple ~ A Symbol of Love

It is often forgotten that the apple is a symbol of love. With so many other symbols of love that come to mind first, it gets lost in the dusty recesses of our minds. However, the apple has a rich history of symbolism in love, sexual desires and abundance. From ancient times to popular culture the apple thrives.

The Apple and the Ancient Greeks

The ancient Greeks revered the apple as a symbol of love and sexual desires. A symbol associated with the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. It was believed that if a gentleman threw or tossed an apple to a maiden, he was confessing his love to her. If she in turn caught the apple, or at least attempted to, she was reciprocating her love to him.

The apple was also considered to bring abundance and fertility. It was customary on the wedding night for the bride to eat an apple, ensuring sexual desire, fertility to birth children and abundance within the marriage.

One the most well known mythological story about the apple is the story of how the Trojan War started. It was believed that the Goddess of Discord, Eris, was angered for not being invited to the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, a sea-goddess. In her anger she wished to create what she was known for, discord, among the Gods. She threw upon the banquet table a golden apple, claiming whomever was the possessor of this beautiful, rare apple would be considered the fairest of all. The most beautiful Goddess.

Three Goddesses quickly moved to claim it: Hera, Athena and Aphrodite. However, Zeus intervened and appointed Paris, the man considered most handsome among mortal men to decide. The Goddesses in their quest to be picked each offered Paris something in return for the apple. Hera promised him power, Athena promised him riches and Aphrodite promised him the most beautiful mortal woman in the world to have as his wife.

Paris choose Aphrodite and in return she promised him Helen from Sparta. However, Helen was already wife to Menelaus; against the warnings from prophets, Paris sent sail anyway to claim his new bride. When he arrived in Sparta he was warmly welcomed by Menelaus, that quickly diminished when he abducted his wife Helen ( although it is widely believed that Helen in fact chose to leave with Paris), thus igniting the Trojan War. Not only to the Golden Apple start a war it became a symbol of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite.

Apple Lore

Few of our Mother's gifts are so celebrated in lore as the apple. Often associated with fertility goddesses, apple is, for many peoples, a Tree of Knowledge.

Apples may be incorporated into any ritual in which one desires to give honor to a god or goddess of fertility. The seeds may be planted in establishing a shrine of trees to Aphrodite or other fertility goddesses. Dried seeds and bark may be powdered to be used as incense. Apples may be eaten, the juice shared in the ritual cup, or incense offered when seeking knowledge through the Tree of Life, an act requesting wisdom from the dieties. The apple may also be used as a symbol of security.

Apples are often associated with good luck. Many enjoy cutting the apple in half horizontally, where the seed cavity produces a five-pointed star. The apple is believed to improve one's spirits and elevate one's happiness.

Deadly and Toxic Herbs in 21st Century Witchcraft

In historic times, many people utilized dangerous and toxic herbs and flowers such as Deadly Nightshade/ Atropa Belladonna, Henbane, Bryony, Foxglove, Lovage as well as other very deadly herbs, flowers, and berries. Most of these plants were on the path of being discovered, and it wasn't until utilized in a plethora of applications, smoking of the herbs and flowers, ingestion, skin applications, salves, ointments, oils and other tinctures, that their toxicity and deadly potencies were uncovered and realized.

In the 21st Century, experienced modern witches and magical practitioners take due caution with the herbs, flowers, berries, woods and ingredients that are used to create in spell oils, ointments, herbal blends, teas and other handcrafted magical aids, as since ancient times, we now know which herbs and flowers are "safe" as opposed to dangerous and toxic. With a myriad of beautiful, safe, loving and healing herbs, flowers, berries and other plant based ingredients readily available, we can choose wisely when we purchase ingredients which can be used to either create our own magical preparations and those we purchase from others who create magical offerings for us. Many of the most common toxic plants used in witchcraft in ancient times, such as Atropa Belladonna, are narcotic, hallucinogenic, cause spasmolytoc (pupil dilation), confusion, delirium, insomnia, twitching, convulsions, seizures, rage, violent heart palpitations and rapid heart beat, labored breathing, extreme pain in all areas of the body, joints, headache, vertigo, loss of consciousness and possible death. This is only a brief description of the many effects of these toxic plants.

I suppose my blog posting today is meant to serve as reminder to everyone to please choose and use any magical herbs, flowers, berries, plant extracts, oils and blends very carefully and use caution and be aware of the potential deadly and toxic risks associated with dangerous plants and plant extracts. There seems to be some sort of allure and idea that using the flowers, leaves, berries and woods from these toxic plants will make your magic that much more potent and powerful. Not true. While they seem to captivate the imagination of ancient witchcraft, there are much safer and appropriate ways to create magic in your life without allowing yourself to become enchanted with either the notion, name(s) or the magical intentional associations of these plants which are dangerous, toxic and life threatening.

Being a magical practitioner for most of my life, I have vast knowledge regarding the utilization of herbs in magic. Since I create handcrafted and witch-blessed magical offerings that contain herbs and natural plant extracts here at White Magick Alchemy, I beIieve that it would be very irresponsible and careless for me, as a herbal practitioner, and as a business owner, to market and sell dangerous, deadly, toxic plants and extracts. More importantly though, is the safety of those "people", customers, who use my magical spell oils, teas, herbal blends, and magical offerings. I would never intentionally put anyone's life or family at risk to glamorize my product offerings or to make money. Thats not how "I" roll. Nor would I ever feel comfortable having to market any magical aid which contains a WARNING blurb which explains to the buyer that the product they are purchasing from White Magick Alchemy was HIGHLY TOXIC, POISONOUS, and may be LETHAL IF INGESTED. When you are purchasing a legitimate magical aid, the last thing you should have to do is worry, or read capital letters that scream WARNING! DEADLY!... usually stated at the bottom of an online listing or at the bottom of the product(s) label. Thats just plain irresponsible on behalf of any business, company or online seller who crafts handmade magical offerings for public use.

A simple statement lets say, on the bottom of an Etsy listing, where a seller selling products containing these deadly and toxic plants release themselves from any liability, monetarily or otherwise arising from any accidents which should arise from the use of these herbs/flowers/oils/etc signifies how irresponsible that seller really is. I recently read in an Etsy product listing for an oil containing these deadly herbs and flowers this, and I just about laughed my ass off... " You are at least 18 years of age and understand that minors under 18 years of age who attempt to buy or who succeed to buy this product will be prosecuted." .... Really? Who is checking ID's here?
And prosecuted? I think the only person here that would be prosecuted is the seller! Hence the reasoning behind not selling these types of product offerings in the first place. Someone purchases this dangerous oil. That person's child gets a hold of it and ingests it, and becomes seriously ill, ends up in the hospital. You mean to tell me that the person who sold them the oil is not going to be held legally responsible or get slammed with a lawsuit? What if that child died? I shutter to think. This is dangerous practice, irresponsible practice, and ignorant practice.

Here's another interesting tidbit on the subject. I have know people who have either gotten possession of these types of plants or who have actually grown them themselves in their home gardens. These people changed. They went mad in a strange sort of way, I'm not kidding. My friends have witnessed this strange behavior as well and it is a very serious and scary thing. To see someone change, it's almost like they believed that they had some sort of higher power, which was in actuality simply a "false sense of power". Thinking became distorted and delusive, they became enveloped, almost as if encompassed with some sort of inner darkness, which was perceived by others as harmful, evil and perhaps even slightly demonic, as opposed to the righteous persona they were under the impression they were exhibiting. All I know is one lady's cat got into the garden and died.

So, for me, these sort of plants are not something I wish to incorporate into my magical offerings either personally or within my WMA offering lines. With all these amazing alternatives, ask yourself why? And if you have children, you know how to make the best and safest decisions for yourself and for your family. While magical aids such as spell oils, herbal mixes, ointments, ingestible herbs and teas are and will always be a part of what we do, always remember, please, be responsible. Make responsible choices when you purchase oils and other handmade magical offerings to assist you in your workings. Rest assured, all the organic and wildcrafted herbs and plant extracts I use here at White Magick Alchemy, will never ever harm you. We are here to help you, not harm you. For instance, the Witches Flying and Belladonna oils that I offer, are 100% safe and are created using alternative plants, oils and extracts. And they are just as effective as well. You don't have to put your life, your families life, your friends and your pets at risk here.

Your journey is your journey. If you use or choose to incorporate some of these toxic plants into your magical workings, I'm sure you are an experience practitioner and know how to use them appropriately. Be safe my magical witches! I am in no way trying to discourage your own path or make any recommendations on how you should conduct your own magic. However, I am entitled to make my own decisions for myself and for how I conduct and utilize herbs and whatnot in my magical workings, and as you have learned, I choose safety. For myself, my family, friends, familiars and customers. This message will hopefully touch a few practitioners, old and new alike, and help prevent the preventable. And for those just beginning, I want you to hear it first hand, and know the risks and know the truth. Magic is not meant to be perceived as glamorous, alluring or romanticized. Real magic is real magic. It is a thought, a projection, a prayer, an enchantment. The success of any magical working not only depends upon the way in which it is worked or cast, but also upon the power of positive thinking, positive intent, and the ability to imagine and believe in the magic being created ~

Hi Everyone!

Well, here we go! Another year begins and its 2012! I can hardly believe last year went to fast! My father always used to tell me that when you get older, the years fly by, boy was he right... :' )

So, whats on the menu at White Magick Alchemy for 2012? My beautiful daugher Sydni will be graduating this year from High School and she is already taking the lead here at the shoppe. She's been working with me since she was about 5 years old, always interested in the craft, making candles, herbs, our retail shoppe, so its not surprising that she is going to jump right in and become a huge part of what we do here after she graduates. She currently works after school and has been for the last 2 years on a part time basis. But as the holidays approached, she worked tirelessly, sometimes 8 or 9pm right along with me. Oh, we had a great time too! We always have lots of fun when we all work together ~

Sydni has learned so much throughout the years, working side by side with me, that along her journey, she has pretty much become an herbalist! She knows her magick thats for sure. I couldn't be more pleased to have her start taking over more of the magick here, so now I'm really feeling changes beginning to take place and it feels awesome. I'm so proud of her, its just amazing to me, to see and feel all these changes come about! So when you think of White Magick Alchemy, envision two blondes, having fun with the magick and having a great time with you too! I thank you so much for your love and support of our magickal family here ~ We thank you!~

Also on the menu here is New Magickal Offerings! I have a plethora of new visions and ideas I hope to debut this year. Its basically been all about time, I just never seem to have enough time to create things I want to share in the shoppe. Hopefully this year, and with Sydni's help, I can finally get those ideas created to share with you all!

As many of you know, we rebuilt the White Magick Alchemy website, so in addition to the Etsy shoppe, we are now able to offer a wider range of magickal offerings to everyone. Our main focus is always "creating" and charging the magick with our hands, but there are so many cool things out there, the new site provides a venue in which we can share some really neat and unique offerings, tools and magickal supplies. My vision is to have White Magick Alchemy be a place where people go to find really unique offerings, as well as a place you can purchase the tools necessary to create your own magick. We already have some witchcraft staples available, and although you will find those necessary items, WMA is never going to turn into a shoppe thats over-run with plethora of "stuff". What I want to do is make WMA the place to go for beautifully handmade magickal offerings, some made by others as well, unique magickal decor items, and of course, our own handmade and witch blessed magickal candles, herbal alchemy, and all the other ideas I have brewing in my head. So stay tuned and watch the magick be revealed!

Its no secret, there are a few people on Etsy, one of which was my own customer, who for years purchased my candles and offerings, have copied and capitalized on the White Magick Alchemy Shoppe, the "Old World aka Old Ways" theme, shoppe look, product offerings and candles that WMA has been creating for many many years. Trust me when I say this, I've been doing this for almost 20 years, I did extensive research before bringing White Magick Alchemy online, and no one was doing "Old World Magick", no one was doing the kinds of candles and offerings I was making and offering in my shoppe. These people basically capitalized on White Magick Alchemy to the fullest extent. Blatant replications of WMA product offerings are not White Magick Alchemy offerings. And copying someone else's shoppe theme, name, products, product names, etc, really speaks volumes about what kind of people are out there and how desperate people can actually be. This old customer of mine even changed her shop name several times before utilizing word "Alchemy" for her business name to represent her Etsy shop, perhaps to trick or mislead, who knows why she choose a name for her business from the shop she copies. But she'll be the first to defend her actions by saying things like "She didn't invent the word Alchemy" and "She didn't invent drippy candles" or "She didn't invent the "whatever". The woman is constantly in "Defense Mode" because she knows very well that she copied everything about and contained within White Magick Alchemy to build herself a business. Why would she constantly feel compelled to defend herself if she didn't have something to hide? My customers see it. Heck! You bring most of it to my attention! She also considers WMA as her "competition" and considers her shop, Witchcrafts Artisan Alchemy, my competition, justifying her actions by saying she is "benchmarking her competition". I don't consider someone who uses WMA as a template, copies my business, shoppe theme, my product offerings, my candles, and everything about WMA as any sort of competition. Especially someone who hides behind a veil of deceit. This is a woman who is obsessed with me, stalks me, who stalks my Facebook page, and denounces my FB postings on a daily basis. I feel sorry for a person like that. The funny thing is..... watch... She's gonna go postal on this post! a) Because she's reading it (who has that kind of time on their hands? lol) and b) because she's in defense mode, and c) she simply cannot contain herself from going completely mad on the subject. LOL I could literally write a novel on this subject, but rather than bore you with the ridiculous details, I rest my case. : D And its just not me, there are so many artists on Etsy that have the exact same issues with these copy cats as I do. Its a real drag for some of us. Imagine you're stuff being copied. Its negative energy and if you are living a spiritual path like we are, its not in any way positive light or anything good.

For anyone who has a problem with my posting here, I believe that we all need to be true to ourselves and I am being true to myself by my writings. I also believe there is nothing wrong with letting people know what kind of energy is out there because there are some really dishonest people out there. I am not a dishonest person, therefore, I can be honest with you and share my feelings. I have nothing to hide. However there are many who do. So, with that said, for 2012, I wish my copy-catys both spiritual peace, awakening and renewal. Perhaps this year they will be able to tap into their own creative energy instead of feeding off of someone else. I think its very important, that if you are a true artist, to create "your own" stuff and not mimic and replicate someone else's creative insight. Otherwise you're not being true to yourself. Just like all the other computer companies are copying Apple's iPhones and iPads and stuff. They see that something is popular and people like it, so they create their own spin-off designs to get their share of the action. Sadly, thats human nature huh? I don't know.... its just a waste of energy if you ask me. But 2012 is about change and renewal for me personally, so perhaps I felt like expressing my true feelings on this to banish that which does not serve. I just want to be left alone to do what I do without being stalked and copied, is that too much to ask?

For the rest of you beautiful people! Health! Happiness! Love! Peace! Abundance! Spirit! Who knows what this Mayan Calendar thing is all about, but I hope what it means is that the world is heading towards a new spiritual awakening. Since the beginning of time, countries, people, have been at war. I'm not the type of person who gets excited about hurting another person, but strangely, most people are. Why? Are the majority that hung up on money and being prosperous that they can harm others without a second thought? Lets hope that this year brings change and renewal!

I would like to thank each and every one of you, my friends, customers, for digging what we do over here. A lot of hard work goes into every single creation here, charging and blessing our candles, oils and herbs, its a very serious thing we do. And to read all the positive feedback, how everyone loves my (our) stuff, well, its just a beautiful thing. I thank you so much for supporting our magick shoppe and more importantly, I'm really glad everyone can feel the magick! Because we do, every day!

Dark Shadows by White Magick Alchemy

Dark Shadows was a gothic horror soap opera that aired on ABC from June 27, 1966 to April 2, 1971. Wait, Dark Shadows was the coolest, spookiest soap opera in the history of television! The show found its cult following mainly within Generation X, as kids everywhere rushed home from school to watch the vampire inspired soap opera. I mean, just the opener alone was enough to thrill and excite us kids! Black and white television, (the soap later in color film) ocean waves crashing upon the rocky shore above where Collinswood stood, the mansion where the infamous Barnabas Collins and the rest of the creepy clan played out their oh so 60's/70's roles... and the music was like so amazing cool, who wouldn't want to get the creeps after school?

Dark Shadows featured werewolves, zombies, man-made monsters, witches, warlocks, time travel, and a parallel universe. The show was based around charactor Barnabas Collins, (played by Jonathan Frid), a 200-year-old vampire who is in search of fresh blood and his lost love, Josette. It was a cool soap with a cool theme, and the intro was spooky and ghostly! Wish they had a soap like that today ~

I have always been fascinated with the folklore surrounding Krampus. As a child, I knew about this red scary beast, and frankly, he scared the pants off of me! Last year my boyfriend gifted me the "Krampus, The Devil of Christmas" book and I just about screamed! The idea was brilliant! And I was thrilled he actually got the the book for me.

This year, I wanted to incorporate something Krampus into the White Magick Alchemy line of magical offerings for the 2011 holiday season, as I always like to bring new and unique offerings to the lineup, things that have never been done before. I searched and searched only to find a Krampus candle had never been done before. Hence, the birth of the Gruss Vom Krampus Pillar Candle line!

White Magick Alchemy now offers the very first candle dedicated to the old hair beast Krampus! European folklore depicts the Krampus as Nikolaus’s dark servant. A hairy, horned, supernatural beast whose pointed ears and long slithering tongue gave misbehavers the creeps. Krampus terrorized the bad until they promised to be good.
